Located on Snapper Rocks Road, Rainbow Bay Surf Club is the Gold Coast’s most southern surf club, situated within minutes of Coolangatta on the Queensland and New South Wales border. Established in 1962, the club grew as a result of a burgeoning population and the growing popularity of Rainbow Bay as a family friendly holiday destination.
A popular swimming and surfing spot, the Rainbow Bay Surf Club patrols one of the Gold Coast’s most popular beaches. The club also presides over the famous Snapper Rocks surf spot. Situated right in front of the club, patrons enjoy watching surfers as they enjoy a drink of a bite to eat. There is also a safe swimming area for families provided by the bay and patrolled by volunteer life guards every weekend.
The Rainbow Bay Surf Club prides itself as much on its patrols as it does on its surf boat rowing and has earned a number of Australian gold medals in rowing which are proudly displayed in the members trophy cabinets. The clubhouse also features a training area with shower and change room amenities as well as a large equipment storage area.
The upstairs section of the club is dedicated to the Supporters Club and features the Ocean Deck, a public bar and restaurant as well as gaming facilities such as Keno and pokies. The deck offers spectacular views from the balcony overlooking Surfers Paradise in the north. The bar and restaurant offers a great range of beer, wine, spirits and classic pub fare at club prices. All money raised from the use of the Supporters Club goes towards sustaining the Rainbow Bay Surf Club.
The club offers a number of different membership categories as well as the option of non-members to visit the club and enjoy the facilities of the Rainbow Bay Surf Club.
