The island is amazing. Being child free there is no noise making relaxing very easy.
Very clean and comfortable resort.
All staff are very friendly and more then happy to help when needed.
I would suggest to bring any snacks from the mainland with you as there is little options on the island and is very expensive.
The resort was amazing, the staff beautiful but the food was disappointing. Menu needs an overhaul.
Peaceful, tropical retreat. Perfect for that romantic getaway!
A serene island stay with options to interest those who like water activities and socialising.
Amazing island with tropical vegetation and great coral reefs. Wonderful staff always eager to please. Celebrated Fiji Independence Day on the Island with all the staff. Playing team games. Beautiful relaxing pool.
Beautiful resort on a beautiful island with amazing snorkelling just off the beaches. Very friendly and helpful staff.
all very nice
Phillip and I visited Matamanoa island as part of my 56 year birthday. We fell in love with the island the moment we arrived. The island is truly paradise. We stayed in a villa overlooking the memanuca islands. The beauty of the island and the peace replenished both of us. thank you to Mele, Emma, Trevor and all the staff of Matamanoa... we felt like we were part of your family. We will definitely return.
The staff at Matamanoa Resort are very friendly and welcoming right from the start. The snorkling is amazing, like being in an aquarium, and there are lots of activities to do as well. It was perfect for our honeymoon, where the plan was to relax and sit around!
Easily the most amazing place we've ever been. Most beautiful little island with beautiful staff. We will be going back, worth paying extra for a beachfront bure. Had the first part of our honeymoon here and would recommend for all honeymooners.
Having been to several other FIJI Resorts in the Mamamuca Island , Matamanoa is ideal suited to a very relaxed and RESTFUL holiday . (Especially in the Sunrise Beach Villas)
The amenities , food, and service is right up there with the others.
My partner and I spent one week at Matamanoa Island Resort and it was the best experience! The location is beautiful and the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and provided 5 star service. Matamanoa is a small island full of adventure, free daily activities, love and laughter. We highly recommended this island for honeymooners and couples.
Everything about Matamanoa was brilliant! All the staff go out of their way to assist you. Food was delicious...nightly entertainment was great...daily activities were fun to join in. Hope we can come back one day!
One word - Amazing, This is such a beautiful island, beautiful people. Thank you to all the staff for looking after us. We will be back as soon as we can.
We stayed on the island in Villa 11 for 11 nights. The villa had a private beach that was shared only with another 5 villa's.
The villa had rise up to the bedroom and a lounge area for relaxing including a plunge pool and also a day bed with our very own sun beds.
The service was fantastic, the staff really friendly and the food, especially the seafood, scrumptious.
It is a beautiful island and a great place to relax.
The only challenge I faced was that the bed was a little soft, though waking up to the view of the ocean cancels out that aspect.
I will definitely return to the island. Bula Bula..
The most beautiful place on earth. The location, the people, the food, the service AAAA+. They helped my fiancé organise the marriage proposal with no extra charge and make it all so magical.
A very relaxing and peaceful island holiday. Staff were wonderful and the facilities were ideal for a chilled out holiday. Would definitely return!
The service at the island is excellent they were lovely, food was good if you get the half board you get breakfast and three course meals for dinner which was well worth it. Accomodation was great for a small island, and plenty of activities.
This exclusive island is a wonderful place to rest and relax with a great view and clear waters to snorkel in. Being an adults only island resort is a major plus and the activities in the resort change daily. Some are free some of which you have to pay for. The castaway island tour was a little disappointing but the village tour is quite interesting to go to see how locals live.
We celebrated a birthday there which went perfectly with staff singing songs and a guitarist as well. A huge cake at a small price which we shared with the rest of the staff
the resort room we were allocated had a bit of an aircon problem , snd they changed our rooms the next day. Otherwise everything else was great. Breakfast can be a bit disappointing but there is hot breakfast you can order fromt he menu. Dinner menus are usally much more interesting and tasty!
overall great and wonderful experience! =)
Being such a small island and few guests this is the place to unwind and relax with guests from a variety of nationalities. There's not that much to do except enjoy the hospitality, sun & water....& food.
Really enjoyed my stay at this beautiful resort. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and in some cases extremely talented.
Really lovely island and stay, staff are great and well priced for the resort
We sadly only had a short stay owing to an accident of my own making. The staff at Matamanoa were magnificent and did their very best to provide every assistance. We are already planning to return ASAP to enjoy again this tropical paradise. The Fijian staff complete the atmosphere with their warmth and friendliness.
What a beautiful place, we had a fantastic time here. The staff were great the room and location were amazing! We'd love to come back.
Thank you to all the staff on Matamanoa
We had a wonderful time on Matamanoa Island, initially staying in a beachfront bure and then moving across to one of the new villas. There is still a bit of construction work going on with the ongoing fit out of some of the villas and walkways, but this didn't detract at all from our experience. We stayed in villa 9, which was at the end of the row and this gave us a little more privacy than the other villas. The villa itself was furnished to a lovely standard, with the daybed, spa and outdoor shower, all great additions.
The staff were all wonderful, with ready smiles and nothing was too much trouble. The food was of a good standard, with the welcome and goodbye songs during the dinner service, plus the last evening at table serenade, all lovely touches.
We'll fondly remember our time on the island, and look forward to returning again.
Very efficient staff, check in to check out was enjoyable. Got entertained after dinner which was cheerful and enjoyable and enabled us to meet people from overseas. Best of all no mosquitoes on the island. Beach bure - fantastic.
We had a lovely time and weather was perfect, great place to sit around and do very little!!.. Food was reasonable, just not alot of it. Afternoon tea every day is a nice touch and staff were very friendly.. the massages were excellent! I wouldnt stay anymore than 4 nights as it became a little too slow for me.
Fantastic location right on the reef. Service a little slower than usual 'fiji time ' and food ordinary - but you go to the place for the location and that does not disappoint. Most staff smile but do not engage you.
Our honeymoon was superb, thanks to the staff at Matamanoa. It's paradise, simple as that. Bula!
Wonderful resort in such a beautiful place on earth.
Will definitely return. Great location, beautiful crystal clear water, great way to escape your hectic busy lives.
Nothing bad to say about this resort ...it was just perfect.
a lovely island and very friendly staff, the bure was great.
Great place to stay, staff were outstanding friendly and always helpful. Beautiful location and scenery.
The staf were mostly friendly a couple of staff members were consistently rude, such as not smiling and not listening to your order in the restaurant or telling us incorrect things on the menu eg this one staff
Picked up the menu from in front of me hit my glass with it which bumped my mouth and she didn't say anything! The food was presented beautifully but didn't taste good and the quality was poor, ie chewy, gristly steak. I had to run to the loo after every meal. The rooms were amazing, as was the pool and the coral and snorkelling and crystal clear water were spectacular! I think that fiji need to have an award wage as the staff are definitely being exploited, on this island anyway, they work for 21 days straight (or more) without a day off for a measly wage - $3 -$6 fiji per hour!!!! And we are paying a fortune ie cocktails were $26 Fijian !! Made me so angry to see the injustice - where is all the money going ??? Certainly not to the Fijian people!!! Overall the staff were kind and helpful the island was beautiful it is a couples island so not really one where people want to chat and make fiends. Vinaka
LOCATION of the resort was hard to beat and the surrounding reef was amazing and the dive rock about 1km off the shore was an ok dive spot. FOOD on the island was definantly the downfall. Half the time what was said on the menu, and what actually came out were two completely different things, ie deep fried camembert with somethings on the side, it actually came out and it was smoked cheddar with a wax coating, or rib eye etc etc and it came out and was a chewy grisly barely even a rump, yet they still charge like it was a grade A rib eye. The lunch menu doesn't change and its a very average menu. Being the only resteraunt on the island you dont have a choice than either starve or put up with the well below average food.
SPA was also very over priced for what you received. the facial cost more than an hour massage and all they did was put a mask on and then moisturise and my wife actually had more creams etc in the bag than they had and the really didn't bring much at all.
DRINKS were also very overpriced, granted your on a island, but being how cheap it all is on the mainland, surely they could compete a little better.
OVERALL next time, if we want a relaxing holiday were people actually want to make you feel like your on a honeymoon we will go back to Bali. Fiji was a beautiful place, the resort was a beautiful place and i love the fact you can just walk out your room and snorkel on reef, and i think next time we goto fiji we will goto the coral coast or somewhere on the mainland.
