A great hotel, I was a little concerned about the location of The Heritage being just out of town but it's a lovely walk-albeit a little tough coming back. Staff are lovely and were able to help out when dining in the restaurant was not an option. Great new sauna with a spa and pool although still too cool to swim in - but some did. Gorgeous open fires all around the common areas. Rooms were very well appointed and comfortable.
From the moment I arrived to the day I left, the staff, facilities, food and accommodation were excellent. I highly recommend people to stay at Heritage Resort at Queenstown.
This was our 4th or 5th stay at the Heritage. We like the rooms particularly the lakeview suites in which we have stayed a few times. The Heritage is a good 15 minute walk from the main part of Queenstown but we enjoy the views and the service is always good. Ski shuttles will pick up and drop off so we were more than happy with that. We dined in the restaurant one evening and as usual the food and wine were good and its reasonably well priced.
This stay was affected by Covid related issues and we were kept informed by the hotel of what was available and timings for things such as room cleaning etc. Overall, we felt the hotel did a pretty good job coping with the pressures put on them by the current situation involving staffing. Thank you for allowing us a later checkout than normal as compensation for the other issues. We look forward to our next visit.
Probably closer to town may have been better for skiing and dining out in the evening, however overall we were happy.
Service (including room and restaurant) was restricted due to lack of staff (covid related)
Room was well appointed with great view over the lake.
Probably good value for money given that we were there during NZ and Aus school holidays.
Distance from town might not suit all - it's about 1.5km with a steep climb at the end.
