Five times for us as a couple. Our 3rd time with children and grandchildren. We all love the Shangri La Fiji. Kids never stop talking about all our holidays there.
Had another lovely stay. Some of the ocean wing rooms could use updating but overall very clean and well serviced.
Takali is amazing. Thank you
A lovely resort for families with small children. Great food options, lots of activities, incredible staff.
Need more lounges and shade huts !!!!
The resort should pride themselves on their friendly staff. The Fijian people are always smiling and warm with the children and adults alike. My only is that we traveled with a baby and the rooms did not have do no disturb signs.
Staff were great, location is lovely, food credit makes it even better value. Anne the duty manager helped quickly with a problem with our room. Loved the Chi Spa!!
We loved staying at this resort!
My husband and I stayed in the Reef wing which is for Adults Only, it was lovely and quiet and the staff were so lovely. They even sang us a farewell song on our last night there!
I would recommend this resort as a place to stay in Fiji.
Very family focussed with LOTS of small children and parents out for a good time. Not suitable for older couples unless you book the adults only wing.
Such a wonderful place to have a great relaxing holiday. The service from the staff was second to none. The food was well priced and prepared. Very highly recommended.
I would suggest staying in the Reef Wing if you are travelling without children. Peaceful and the afternoon canapes and cocktails are amazing......and FREE. The resort has everything you could possibly want. Restaurants are great.
A wonderful stay at Shangri La!
We had an amazing 7 nights at the Shangrila. Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with plenty of activities to do at the resort. Our kids both loved the kids club and made a lot of new friends. My husband and I were able to dine at the adults only Italian restaurant while the kids were at kids club as well. The resort facilities were great we played golf, mini golf, tennis, snorkeling, kayaking and the water inflatables.
We booked a village tour through the resort which took us to the local school and village. Highly recommended holiday destination for families.
We stayed in the reef adults only wing and it was great! All the staff were friendly and accomodating and being able to laze around the quieter adults only pool was amazing.
Beautiful location. Staff all amazing. Plenty of food options. Perfect for families with 2-12 year olds. Vinaka
This hotel is far from the marina, keep this in mind if you're looking to hop onto boats! Was about a 1hr drive.
The room: Outdated but clean, room service was fantastic, everything is on fiji time tho! Aircon was fantastic, view of the ocean was lovely. We had 1 night which we had no hot water but this was fixed quickly!
The food: limited number of restaurants, 3 main places to eat but they had different experiences each night for food, eg a street style Asian cuisine night! The food was delicious but overpriced, which is expected when you're on holiday!
Pools/Beach/Activities: Lovely, clean and plenty to do. You can snorkel off the beach, use the kayaks or the waterpark all day long! Pools were nice too! Throughout the day we had multiple activities happening around the pools which entertained children and adults alike!
Overall, I'd happily stay here again, you could easily spend a week inside the resort, and you'd be entertained, we were a group of 10 with children and everyone loved this resort.
Travelled in July 2024. This was our 5th visit to the resort and it continues to offer something for everyone. The location is just perfect - step out of the pool and walk onto the sand and into the ocean, what more could you want.
The resort staff were sensational. Yes, sometimes things took a while, but hey, its Fiji time! There were plenty of food options - the buffet had a lot more options than last time we stayed - lots more seafood this time. Stayed in a Lagoon room, yes they are a little dated but they have everything you need. Get out and enjoy what the resort has to offer rather than spend time in your room. Looking forward to our 6th visit.
We loved everything about our stay at Shangri-La Fiji, and would recommend for anyone looking for a relaxed family holiday. Staff were friendly and our teenagers loved the activities on offer at the resort.
This resort is great for families. If you want time out you can hire a nanny to care for your kids and they are wonderful
The Shangri-la is the perfect holiday for families. Kids have a ball and the staff are always friendly locals. Just relax and unwind .
We came with 2 friends my daughter and her husband and 22month old granddaughter. We all had a fabulous time both within the resort and outside.
Our King Ocean Room was spacious, super comfortable bed and lots of storage. The 2 negative comments are 1. our rooms were serviced very late in the day (4.30ish) and 2. bathrooms need a mould check - we know this is difficult in this climate- but a grout renewal would be good - minor issues!
There was always something to do here and I could have stayed another 2 weeks easily.
Travellers please be aware special event dinners book out early and you need to confirm with Hotel Information Service early.
Absolutely every service person in this resort was so friendly.
Traveled with friends including a toddler. Have stayed at the Shangri La before and the staff were as helpful and friendly as always. The restaurants cater for all tastes and the food is delicious, although it's sometimes hard to get a booking. There is a wide range of activities to keep young and old entertained on site. In saying that the concierge is happy to book transport to travel outside the resort. One of the highlights each day was the greeting from Napoleon in the lobby! Bula.
Our first experience of Fiji was had at the Shangri-La, and we already want to go back! We had all inclusive meals and drinks packages, our room was upgraded upon arrival, and the staff were always friendly and accommodating. Our 7 and 10 year old daughters loved the pools, the games run by the staff, the inflatable obstacle course and making friends with all the other kids around. For us adults, cocktails from 12pm, kayaking in the clear waters and that feeling of safety for our whole family made it the perfect, relaxing getaway.
Our 3rd time here, First time after all the updates, which took us as a bit of a surprise. We ate at all restaurants. Good range of food. Golden Cowrie was out favorite for breakfast and dinners. International night at buffet always had a bunch we could eat. (go a bit later if you haven't got kids, it's a big place and it can get busy.) Staff are all great. All I can say is Vinaka Vakalevu
All staff were excellent
The staff always have a smile on their faces. The service was excellent. Nothing was a trouble for them. The location is very relaxing and peaceful. We stayed in the reef part. We would go again.
Shangri-La was amazing. It has everything we needed and wanted, the staff were amazing and the kids were happy and entertained which meant the parents were too! Would definitely recommend this place to go if you have a family and want a low stress holiday.
We stayed in the lagoon section of the resort. It was perfect! The pool is right next to the beach, the sand literally comes to the pool edge. The beach isn't great for swimming because of the amount of coral but it is amazing for snorkelling with colourful fish everywhere. Can also go kayaking for free, and then you can pay for motor water sports of all types. All just meters away from a bar with amazing cocktails.
The restaurants are all amazing too. Buffet breakfast in either the adults only or family restaurants every day with excellent food. Lots of choices for dinner, some restaurants you need to book.
Staff were all super friendly. As introverted millennials with social anxiety the constant "Bula" every corner you turn got exhausting after the 3rd day (lol), but all so friendly.
I want to try other resorts but it will be too hard to pass on the Shangri-La again, so we can't wait to get back there!
We travelled to Fiji with 10 others to celebrate a birthday and the Shangra-li was the perfect place with all the amenities and facilities to ensure each and everyone had a great time, thank you
One criticism…
It was very hard to find out what the activities for children were…they had a marine activity centre which was not advertised and was great for children but we accidentally came across it even though we had been to the "desk" to ask about activities…they need some sheets saying what the activities are
Rooms are a little tired but comfortable. Staff are exceptional and always smiling. At least an hour's drive from the airport
Attended a great wedding and entertained by fabulous Fiji dancers
Great holiday for families.
Special thanks for Joe, Peni and Francis.
Fantastic, Great for the kids with a lot of activities and atmosphere. Great Staff
Great Kids had a wonderful time
Staff was fantastic
Great for the kids
Great amenities and surroundings and the staff were the best we have encountered
This resort caters well for young families. Adults are therefore well advised to pay a little more for the adult only Reef Wing. Thought 5-11 May would be Ok for weather but Fiji wet season is lingering longer like Australia. Will leave until June/July next time.
Absolutely amazing location
Great for families
Room, meals and service were very good.
Drinks should have been included in the half board package rather than having money left over from the food portion of the package.
Staff were polite and helpful. However, meals took forever to be ordered and served.
Thank you
The beach was lovely and the waterpark was great for kids. The drink package made it worthwhile for the kids and family. Service was "FIJI time". The rooms are tired and need some love.
The room was great, we had a noisy air con and a leaking shower at the door wouldn't close however it was great otherwise as it had everything we needed. The staff are fantastic and look after you and kids extremely well. Value for money was great, we didn't use up all our all inclusive and that was three meals a day plus drinks so we didn't have any surprise costs either.
As above
Resort very nice, but need to open the restricted (reef) pool to adults only.
Beautiful resort and location, this was our second visit to this resort.
Everyone was welcoming friendly and great service from all areas.
Special mention to our room attendant Amelia, she had done a great job.
Staff at Takali were amazing! Special mention to Azuri, (not sure on spelling of her name) also Nicky both from the bar at the Takalu restaurant.
Both were outstanding with there service and extremely welcoming.
We will definitely be back again! See you next year.
Very warm Fijian welcome, I arrived early and check in did a wonderful effort to have my room cleaned early. All staff are excellent and very happy people
Had the best time with our family of 11 people. The youngest is 2 & the eldest is 74. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time at Shangri-la. All of the staff there were just brilliant
Hi
A group of 6 adults stayed here we were all on a inclusive
Drinks and food package, which I highly recommend .
We arrived on an early flight , the manager gave us a complimentary breakfast which was great .
We had requested all rooms close by - which were not however one couple did move after one night
Another couple had bad aircon and had to move rooms as well .
The grounds and beach are beautiful.
First time to Fiji, and we had such a fantastic time, the moment we got to the resort, we felt like part of a family, every single staff member are full of joy and make you so
Welcome. The grounds were superb, the pools, beaches, reefs,
Dining, every part if the trip was 100% wonderful. We cannot wait to go back, Vinaka!
A bit of fun for everyone with much to do.
The Shangri-La Fijian is by far the best family resort on the Coral Coast, blessed with the natural resources of the beach and the lagoon to supplement the pools and gardens, there is a plethora of activities, restaurants and themed bars (watching the sun set over the lagoon whilst sipping a cocktail at the Bilo Bar is an unforgettable experience) to make your holiday a roaring success even without leaving the resort. Venturing out is however highly recommended and the Shang is ideally placed to allow easy access to a variety of award-winning activities or participating in local village activities. The other aspect of the Shang to mention is the warmth of the staff, who truly treat you as family and will make you want to return time and time again for many years to come.
Our favourite resort for far in Fiji
The location means a better patch of water for watersports and better quality and variety of watersports so great for older kids as well as young ones. The whole resort looks onto the beach and ocean unlike many where much of it is hidden behind.
We returned after just 6 months to experience it all over again
Having been holidaying at the Shangrila for over 20 years, it is needing some TLC in the rooms and around pool etc. However for location, beautiful water and the kids had a great time.
Prices were more expensive than ever before and would recommend an all inclusive package.
Overall we had nice experience but only issues with food. They should have vegetarian dishes in breakfast lunch and dinner. Thank w
Third time to Fiji and this resort is definitely the best so far, very well spaced out dining options, the pool and lagoon area is fantastic and the snorkeling is amazing.
All the staff are just so friendly and helpful.
We had a beautiful time at the Shangri-La. The room was fantastic, views where beautiful and service was also very good.
My only issue would be upon check- in the wait time to be served is very long especially after a long flight with children.
I would also like to comment on our last night one of our children stubbed her toes and was bleeding, i called reception twice to ask for a bandage, this service took over an hour to deliver past 9pm.
I am a long term customer of the shangri-la having been over 13 times since i was 8 years old and it is always lovely going back.
The Resort was easy to get to from Nadi airport. Our room was made ready for us early as we had arrived early. We had t requested an early check in but nothing was too difficult for the staff. Our room was a good size, clean and tidy with a great view. Dining was easy with 3 different restaurants and a buffet to choose from. Plenty of activities available or easy to just do nothing. The staff were super friendly. I would definitely go back to this Resort.
My husband and I wanted a quick trip to Fijo to celebrate our anniversary. This trip gave us everything we asked for and more. The room was fantastic, the food unbelievable and as always the serve perfect. Your staff are so friendly and always went out of their way to accommodate anything that we asked for. I will not hesitate to recommend people to stay with you. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.
A beautiful island with good beach and pools. Great food and
excellent food, fresh tropical fruits and first class friendly service..
Loved the option of swimming in the pool and the beach. The beach was stunning and many options for dining was great. Food was exceptional as well.
Highly recommend the Shangri-La Fijian Resort
Lots of activities, rooms were adequate, staff were amazingly friendly.
This was our 2nd stay at The Shangri-La and it was just as good the 1st time. The staff are amazing and so friendly. We will definitely be back again.
First time visit to Shangri La and was not disappointed with the resort. Only comment would be to change up the buffet dinner a little more in the Lagoon Terrace.
A very large resort, which is in need of some updates..Pool furniture and tables in some restaurants very run down and in need of repair. It had all things needed for a good relaxing holiday. Staff were lovely friendly and happy.
The prices for meals and drinks were expensive, but food was lovely. Gorgeous setting. massages etc very expensive.
Great hotel and package, the location and hotel itself are beyond amazing. The food is average but the facilities and location gives the hotel and 9/10
The resort was clean, tidy. There was many things to do, places to eat. Seamless transfers, check in and check out. Very friendly helpful staff
Very much enjoyed our stay at Shangri La Resort Fiji. Everything about our trip was perfect! I especially loved the activities run by the resort for kids.
Great service from staff who were always pleasant and happy
Nice location with beautiful beach and views. Not super fancy but great for families. Would have preferred more menu options for kids. Takali restaurant was a stand out. Amazing food and views. Found the drink service a bit slow and disorganised. Overall had a great stay and would recommend to people with young kids.
Everything was great, the rooms were just a bit tired and require some love/a makeover
By far the most family friendly holiday I have ever done. Made parenting wayyyy easier. The resort is totally designed for young kids. The kids were in kids club (and we had a nanny to take my 2 year old there as she was too young to go by herself) every day, which meant we could just hang out at the pool/beach etc and drink cocktails and actually relax for once. So many activites too. Beautiful resort. Staff were all beautiful and happy to assist with any request. Will definitely be back.
We're a family of four and absolutely loved our stay! The Shangri-La team are so lovely and the whole resort had a great vibe. We were happy with our Ocean Grand Deluxe room, it was a good size for all of us and fitted us comfortably. Food was GREAT and lots of options.
Entry to resort was greeted with a big drum roll and "Bula " greeting. Concierge obliging and welcoming. Service behind the desk to register was very slow and staff seemed to be confused with continual too and froing between staff. IT program seemed to be clunky. Escort to room was great including luggage delivery. Staff very helpful with lots of assist to elderly couple. We were able to use the goods elevator if we didn't want to mount the 3 flights of stairs to our room. Ocean King deluxe room was perfect for us. Great big bathroom and plenty of cupboard space for our 6 night stay. We had booked 11 months ago because this was a family event and we needed our rooms to be positioned near each other. All were Ocean King deluxe. We were dismayed to find that 2 of the rooms were located in the Lagoon wing ( an upgrade?, both rooms were smaller and unsuitable for their needs). The customer relation desk was extremely helpful in setting up my informal 70th Birthday party at the Takali Asian Kitchen. Their menu was excellent and staff attentive. Their complimentary birthday cake was delicious. The Golden Cowrie Coastal Italian restaurant was delicious in food and drinks. Compliments to the chef! Appreciated the Little Chef's club and the Games Room for the grandkids. Mini Golf was expensive and if it was cheaper we would have used it more. Good fun course. Loved walking the golf course with my son as he challenged himself with the agreeable course. Overall, staff very friendly , obliging and wanting to please. I would certainly come back again but maybe check more directly with the venue to ensure all bases were set as per booking.
Spent a lovely 5 nights at the Reef Wing with my partner. The resort is lovely with excellent options for dining and some great packages on offer for things like breakfast inclusions.
The room was very clean with an amazing view over the ocean. Staff were very friendly and attentive.
Will definitely be recommending Shangri La to friends and family.
The housekeeper was excellent. Almost all staff lovely. Hour drive to hotel not great. Great water facilities
This holiday was planned to relax after a very busy few months. Atmosphere was great as was the service
We travelled to the Shangri La last week for what was my partners 1st overseas trip. The entire trip was awesome and while some areas are starting to show their age, a coat of paint wouldn't have made trip better. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we both look forward to returning in the future.
Lots of activities for everyone
This was a long awaited holiday. Brilliant location. Super service. The resort has had some renovations since our last visit which was lovely. Great for families and couples. Not too far from Nadi. We will definitely go again.
The resort is huge and it can be a long journey to the breakfast buffet. At least you have a chance to walk off the calories! There is a huge amount of young families with kids doing what kids do. The resort was at capacity when we went.
The food was fantastic although there could have been more gluten free options. The cakes and bread were mostly dry. The coconut cake was a great option for a treat. Encourage your kids to get ice-cream with a meal. I know sounds crazy but it's better than paying $14Fiji dollars for a scoop on NZ ice-cream by the pool. Beach Cafe was delayed with bringing out food and kids' meals tiny. We had to request my 11yr old's food didn't come out in a car shaped Bento box.
The best meal was at the Gecko's and we enjoyed a fantastic free show. They knew exactly what I meant by being gluten-free and offered several options.
The location of the resort was superb and our view was sensational. The beds were super comfortable and the bathrooms spacious. The staff were super friendly.
Had an amazing time, was everything I was hoping it would be. My 2 kids had a absolutely ball
Great place for families with lots to do for kids. Pools were good and the organised activities were fun. Good snorkelling for beginners in front of lagoon pool and also reef wing.
My kids and I had a fantastic holiday
My family and I absolutely loved our stay. We would love to go back! My only feedback that I would like to share is that the last time i visited 10 years ago, whenever i signed a bill, there was a spot to provide a tip for staff. example: if the total was $52, i would add $8 to the tip section with a grant total of $60. During this occasion, this wasnt an option. As it was a cashless resort, we had minimal cash to give to staff which was a shame as they truly deserve it. Id love to see that reinstated as i would have happily given a few hundred dollars in tips over the course of my stay
The location and facilities were absolutely perfect. Had something for everyone. Our children had a ball l. We will be back
We hadnt been to FIJI before and after this trip I've fallen in love.
We had the best stay at Shangri-La. The staff were wonderful and the reef/location even better.
The hotel is outdated and due for a refurb but it was extremely clean
The Shangri-La is a great resort for all holiday makers. Has some great eateries with a variety of food including the buffet breakfasts. The facilities are a little outdated and could use some sprucing up to make them more comfortable. Rooms could have better pillows and mattresses, perhaps a larger TV with some additional channels. The pools could use more frequent cleaning and sanitising to ensure they remain inviting.
The only drawback was the inability to pay for individual purchases from the restaurants or bars, but instead forced to add to my room's account.
Overall, a great place to stay with super friendly people who are all to keen to assist where needed.
Stayed before and will stay again. Friendly, genuine, happy staff and culture along with a great resort makes this a perfect relaxing and enjoyable holiday for everybody. Kids are well catered and cared for allowing parents to relax and enjoy their time as well. Plenty of activities and facilities to keep everyone busy if that's what you're after of just sit back, relax and enjoy your break. Keep an eye out for great meal and drink offers as this is another great way to reduce the worries of cost.
Well laid out resort just over an hour from the airport. Service was excellent. Italian and Asian restaurants excellent. Drinks expensive.
Suitable for people wanting to relax beside a pool or rest on the beach.
We visited Shangri-La as 2 x adults and 2 x children recently after first visiting 11 years ago. The resort hasnt changed alot in the last 11 years however the location and scenery is still stunning.
We had an ocean deluxe room which was just the right size for a family of 4, the room was a little outdated and cleanliness wasnt amazing however we still enjoyed it and loved being able to walk straight down into the ocean.
Unfortunately we didnt have the best weather so some of the restaurants weren't operating during our stay which made it a little more difficult to decide on dinner options but in saying that the food was always great quality.
It was wet season and due to the unfortunate weather the resort was fairly quiet and not operating at normal capacity however once the weather improved and the sun came out the resort took on a completely different vibe. It was much more lively and it was great to see everyone relaxing and enjoying themselves.
Overall we had a nice time and would still look to return to Shangri-La in the future.
Neat and tidy a little run down but good for a 30yr old resort great time.
An amazing place, the staff were awesome super friendly would highly recommend Bula.
The resort and facilities were outstanding. Great for couples and families. So much to do. Genarally the staff were all fantastic. Recommened .
Second visit to Shangri La Fiji.
Very enjoyable once again.
Staff are always friendly and helpful.
Stayed in the Ocean twin room. Could do with an update (bathroom) but otherwise clean.
Better tv channel options would be good (Of a night) very limited watching. Lucky for Netflix on the laptop.
All in all great place to visit. Will return.
Adults only Reef wing was amazing with great service & the happy hour free cocktails were a hit with everyone
Shangri-La is a large resort with a good size main pool that was beautifully heated. There was lots of seating available on the beach or around the pool and tonnes of activities to entertain if you chose to participate. The waterpark was a big hit with the kids although it does need a good clean. This was our 10th trip to Fiji but first time at this resort. We felt the food on offer was probably the best out of any of the resorts we have visited, including some 5 star resorts. We had a great meal at the Asian restaurant but we were disappointed that the Italian only allowed children over 12 y.o. Tricky when you have children aged 9, 14 and 17. You do need to book into these restaurants to get a table. The building themselves are a bit tired and need some fixing up, as I believe it is quite an old resort. Staff, as we have always experienced in Fiji, were fabulous and very friendly. Originally we had wanted an Ocean wing room but could only get a Lagoon room and in the end it worked out for the better. The Lagoon rooms were closer to most amenities and that side of the resort seemed less windy. The Lagoon side is busier and more families but the pool is a good size and a nice beach. The water at the beach was not as clear as we would have liked and snorkelling was average. We actually saw better sea life by taking out the kayaks at low tide....which were free to take and we never had to wait for one. We felt the package that we got from Travelonline was a good deal and included the transfer which can be about $500 if you book it separately. We would definitely look at booking future holidays with Travelonline.
Wonderful friendly staff
I hope this review helps a few people! The hotel is pretty old but nice and clean. The food is pretty good some great options and some ok options. The staff are all beautiful and very helpful. I probably wouldn't stay there again only because there are lots of other hotels probably newer and closer to the airport. It's a beautiful spot though, the beach is amazing and the water crystal clear.
We had a great time!
Great holiday, fantastic snorkeling and diving for the older teenagers and powered boat rides for kneeboarding etc. Excellent food quality with breakfast on the deck overlooking the reef each morning being a highlight.
Our party of 8 were extremely happy with the resort and had a fabulous holiday. It was our first time to the Shangri-la (having been to Fiji numerous times) so were a little apprehensive, but it exceeded our expectations and we would certainly recommend it (in fact we have recommended it to our niece who is planning on visiting at Easter). The grandkids (and their parents) loved the water park, pity the rain closed it a couple of times, but that can't be helped. The barrista coffee is terrible! Even the make your own in the Lagoon Terrace doesn't make a decent cuppa. I like weak coffee so some improvement could me made there to accommodate the fussy people like me!!! But that is a very minor issue. Overall the staff were good but could be a little friendlier, some are brilliant and we especially want to express our gratitude to Mohammed Asif who made my 80th birthday dinner a truly wonderful evening. Dining options were excellent and our half meal deal was brilliant and fantastic value. Overall well done.
Love Fiji! Beautiful hotel. Room was perfect for the family. Variety of restaurants to enjoy. Early check in was not available even though the hotel was expecting guests to arrive early morning & had to wait around & keep following up, which was disappointing.
Shangri-la Fiji is just wonderful. We stayed in the reef wing (adults only) which is perfect place for total relaxation and quiet. Highlights were: clean, cool and quiet room overlooking beautiful gardens, reef and pool. Spacious and comfy with everything you need. The Takali and Golden Cowrie restaurants were absolutely 5 star food and service, spa massage gorgeous, eco snorkeling with Moses sensational, pool quiet and beautiful. We feel in love with all the staff who cared for us with such grace, kindness and fun. We honestly couldn't fault anything. Can't wait to come back again!
Expensive food and drinks. Expect to wait for drinks. Very clean rooms and great buffet breakfast.
We are a family travelling with 2 x 6 year old's and the trip was well organised from start to finish. Resort is a little tired now and needs a refub, but it is still fantastic and no issues at all. Food is amazing, staff are very friendly and helpful. Would recommend for both families and couples, even though it was peak time Xmas to NY, the resort handled all the people very well. It didn't feel like we were sharing with a fully booked out resort. Planning our next trip back for Xmas 2023 with the whole family.
We travelled with our 1 year old and couldn't rate this holiday highly enough. The resort is well setup for everyone, I could bring the pram everywhere. The pools, facilities and activities were excellent, there is literally something for everyone. The food is fantastic, especially the takali restaurant. The drinks package was great and made our stay even better. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend
We travelled with our toddler and had a brilliant time. The resort is amazing for travelling with kids, the food and facilities are excellent. The whole place was setup accessible enough to bring the pram. Staff very friendly. The drinks package was great. There is plenty to do for everyone at all ages and the pools were excellent.
Fantastic place to stay
I booked the all inclusive through Travel Online. What a breeze, from flights to transfers, check-in, unlimited drinks, all meals everyday, the resort was more than expected, the service was amazing, humble people, everyone always had a smile, no request was too big or small. Cleanliness of the room, quality and variety of food. Compassionate towards children. It is really well above expectations.
The best holiday we have been on. Just hubby myself and my daughter. Can't fault the holiday at all. Definitely get the all inclusive meals and drinks as it's great value and food/drinks are very expensive. Best value and can't wait to return very soon!!
Our stay was wonderful & would highly recommend it, however it would be nice with just a simpler easy food choice,eg chicken schnitzel, etc. The adult only area was terrific.
We found this holiday during a click frenzy sale.
We had heard of the Shangri-La and knew they had a great reputation! The Shangri-La Fiji did not disappoint!
The hotel was fantastic, the food gorgeous and the staff so very welcoming and friendly. We had a great 5 days. We look forward to returning again one day.
After many visits to Shangri-La with our children, we returned as a couple to stay in a Reef Suite (new Adults Only area) and we loved it. The same beautiful staff around the Reef Pool, lots of inclusions staying in this area made it a very relaxing holiday.
Thank you to the GM Mr. Francis Lee and your wonderful team. We will be back
Stuart and Sue Donaldson (Australia)
We had the most beautiful time at the Adults Only wing. The Fijian people are beautiful people and very caring towards our stay. They were friendly and the hotel was just superb. We were luck to jag excellent weather for our 7 night stay. Thank you to all your team who helped us with this holiday, we just can't wait to go back and do it all again.
The Shangrila was a fantastic resort for families. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the facilities are great. Lots of dining options, kids club, nanny service and a great pool. Highly recommend.
The facilities are great, the location is ok, but the property is showing signs of age and could use a renovation.
Great place great staff great location
We stayed 8 nights and still had things to do and see. Pools, coast and lagoon made great options for swimming, water sports and snorkelling. Restaurant food and options were great. Special event nights were well run and plenty of activities on to include kids, like volleyball or pool netball. Kids club had good variety of activities. Buffet was incredible!! The resort could upgrade its water craft to include glass bottom kayaks and more Paddle boards and consider limits to two beach chairs per family when resort busy.
From arrival to leaving, the resort and the beautiful staff were amazing. Food was fantastic, staff were very friendly and helpful, location is perfect with the lagoon's beautiful clear water and beach. Highly recommend this resort as everything was perfect. Would only like more lounge chairs on the beach, as there was never enough for the amount of people at the resort.
The best resort for kids. Adults only section best for couples.
Had a wonderful time
Staying at the Shangri La Fijian was a great experience. It is family friendly and plenty of free activities for both adults and children. The staff were very helpful and accommodating and courteous. Will definitely be going back.
The Shangri La is located around 1h from the airport and is on it's own little island, being surrounded by the beach and a lagoon. The resort has room options to suit families, couples as well as groups, with views of the lagoon, beach or pool. Dining options are great, and if your lucky enough to get a package inclusive of food, make sure you pack clothes that can give, as the options are great, relax at the Beach, Bar & Grill for burgers, or go to the Lagoon Terrace for a buffet, or head to the Tekali Lounge for a taste of Asia, and if you want a meal that ticks all the boxes, book into the Golden Cowrie Restaurant, food is exceptional as well as the service, our hostess Mila went above and beyond on each of our visits
If you want to watch the sunset with a cocktail, then head down to the Bilo Bar and get both, as well as the footy on the big screen if your lucky.
Then that brings me to sports and activities, if your feeling keen, head out deep sea fishing, or hire the jet skiis, or head out to the inflatable water park, there is always a game of soccer or beach volley ball if the water doesn't sound appealing, but how can you resist the beach, with crystal clear water and white sand, it's an oasis
The resort is fantastic, staff are welcoming and the beer is alwasy cold, I cannot wait to get back
A few more beach chairs and umbrellas needed
Absolutely love the Shangri La this was my 3rd time to this resort and I'll be back next year . The staff are beautiful
We are usually going to Polynesia to enjoy the snorkeling in the reef. The location is very good - we could enjoy swimming in the lagoon any time of the day and the snorkeling was great!
The hotel staff was very good. It felt like we were looked after by one big family.
We really enjoyed the Shangri La experience. :-)
Everything was wonderful, beautiful staff, delicious food, very nice room, very clean. Slow service at bars and restaurants but I understand their slower way of life and outlook.
Resort is laid out well plenty of space but nothing us too far away. Plenty of dining options, bars, nice pools, water activities. Staff super friendly and helpful.A great place to get away relax and have fun.
We loved our stay in the two bedroom bure. It was perfect for our family. The grass and beach out the front meant we could have our own quiet time away from the crazy of the lagoon pool. We also experienced the Chi Spa which was lovely but not exactly 5 star.
There was enough options for food and drinks. We had the all inclusive food and drinks and only spent money on coffee outside of breakfast times. Such a lovely location with a lot of activities even with a baby we found it easy to do things.
We had the lovliest nanny Malita who was available over multiple days. The boys loved her. She would take the kids to kids club or hang out at the house with them.
Bilo bar was a favourite in the afternoon and Takali was delicious with healthy options for the kids.
Great stay
Staff and food amazing.
Really great resort with lots of activities and friendly staff. Highly recommend
A great family holiday spot with great service from wonderful Fijian people.
We had a great trip, it ran smoothly and the resort is fantastic!
So many options for beach, pools and meals. The waterpark was an absolute hit with the kids!
Our room was great and the ocean views are so relaxing!
Had a great family holiday and would love to return
What an amazing trip. The staff from reception, porter's, life guards, house keeping and especially Henry at the pool were amazing! The rooms are a little old, but we didn't spend much time there. Our 3 kids, aged 12, 9 and 4 loved every minute of it. We can't thank you enough for your hospitality! Vinaka
We stayed at shangri-La for 5 nights and we couldn't be happier with this resort, the service is just amazing , the people are very welcoming and always love a good chat , we met and made some wonderful friendships. Big shout out to Siena and Sitty for looking after us and being so kind to us. Would definitely recommend coming here again!
Staff at the resort are very friendly and attentive towards children. The location and views are one of a kind and I wouldn't want to be any where else in the world. Had a blast and would recommend to everyone!
Been going there for many years-property ageing a bit but still my favourite destination. People are fantastic.
Enjoyable for 3 generations.
Beautiful weather, beautiful staff and accommodation and resort was great.
Resort is very large, some rooms need to be updated but overall good facilities, dining is very good and has improved over the years.
We had a fantastic trip to Shangri-La in July. Could not fault the service or the activities. We are looking to book another trip to Fiji next year as our kids loved the culture and super friendly Fijians they met.
This holiday was perfect to escape the Sydney rain. Our last trip to Fiji saw us leaving early due to a cyclone, so we were very grateful for good weather and clear skies.
We had a terrace room on the ground floor near the lagoon, it was close to the watersport, the pool and the beach. My husband and daughter loved being able to step outside of an evening and kick around the football with other guests and staff.
Everyone raved about the Asian Kitchen restaurant and it was great, the resort was at 100% capacity but they were able to fit in everyone we spoke to within a day or two.
Great resort if you have a family and children, food at the beach bar and grill was our spot for lunch and dinner and the service was quick, the terrace restaurant for lunch was often short staffed and got orders wrong.
So many different adventures and activities right at our fingertips. Our children particularly loved the waterpark, while we delighted in snorkelling right off the beach.
We had a fantastic 8 night stay. The Fijian staff are so welcoming and friendly, they made our stay so memorable. The accommodation was lovely, we had the all inclusive package which was value for money and allowed us to easily try all the restaurants. I recommend this venue for all guests.
Great stay and fantastic food . Inflatable was amazing and a lot better than plantation islands.
This is a lovely resort with super friendly staff. Snorkeling is lovely, tide dependent. Room was spacious, clean and very comfortable.
Drink prices vary greatly between different bars. Overall, an enjoyable stay.
The food at the restaurants was fabulous. The location was beautiful as always. Great to see they are busy doing upgrades and maintenance across the resort, and it's starting to return to its original vision. The Spa is a must!
We Stayed in a lagoon room
Room was pleasant with great views across to the main pool and lagoon
We found the hotel to be a very family friendly place with lots of activities for the kids and adults
We had the all-inclusive package which we found to be a good Option for us as food and drink within the resort is quite expensive
Staff where very pleasant willing to help but most of them are on Fiji time
The lagoon area was lovey for a swim and has a lifeguard which is great for families
We enjoyed our 7 night stay
We loved our holiday and the hotel was generally great. After being shut for more than 2 years and only open for the last few months, they were still ironing out processes and retraining staff, but overall it was lovely. Rooms were not cleaned as well as before Covid but I guess we need to give them time to get up to speed again. Fantastic to be on holidays again and we loved it.
Great snorkelling off the beach, friendly staff and lots of restaurant choices.
Shangri-La was an amazing place to stay. The location and lay out of the hotel was great and it's perfect for families! Kids were entertained all day everyday! The staff were lovely and Fiji is just beautiful!
We had an amazing holiday staying at the resort! The room and facilities were lovely, the food was exceptional, but what made our trip absolutely unforgettable was the staff. These incredible people were warm and friendly and would bend over backwards to make sure that we had everything we could need or want. Nothing was too much trouble for them! It was a holiday and experience that we will never forget! We sing the praises of the hotel and staff to everyone we speak to and we hope to visit again in the not too distant future.
Staff are lovely and friendly. Room "tired". Lighting very poor. Breakfast good value. Other restaurants expensive and lacking choice. Alcohol very expensive. Activities and kids club good. Lots of walking if you are not centrally located.
5 nights in a reef Bure was amazing. Postcard views, beautiful service from lovely staff everywhere we went. Nothing was a bother and everything done with a smile.
Restaurants (tried 3) all served lovely food with the Golden Cowrie our favourite.
How lucky to have such a perfect holiday. The people are just beautiful. The food was amazing in all restaurants in the resort. The pools are so nice. You can have the best holiday all in one place. We have been to Fiji a few times and we always love going back to the Shangri-La. We got married 10 years ago at the Shangri-La and was so excited to go back to the same place.
Property is clean and tidy. Maintained well.
Very attractive and pleasant. Signs are appropriate and give proper directions
It was a wonderful holiday in an amazing place, The snorkelling was really easy and we saw quite a lot of different species. The staff were friendly and the resort clean and well kept. It was super easy to do a lot or nothing much at all. Overall it was very relaxing and we would definitely recommend it to other families.
The resort is great with a perfect location, setout and layout. True tropical / island stay and very relaxing.
Great service and very friendly staff.
Lots of activities for kids and adults.
Highly recommended for families and also couples.
Top quality resort. Really friendly staff. Plenty to do outside the resort if you want but also no need to leave the resort if you love pools, the ocean and water activities.
We spent a wonderful week here and my children (11 and 14) did not want to leave. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing along with the service. We are all returning next year!
For a good value for money holiday you cant go past the Shangri-La.
Apart from the beautiful beaches, pools and rooms, the Shangri-La also has amazing dining options. We loved the Takali restaurant and dined there more than once!
It is worth upgrading to the adults only reef wing to enjoy the daily cocktails and canapes and to access the adults only pool.
Loved the inflatable and water activities, great clean beach and pool areas our kids had so much fun.
Drink and food service was the only minor negative many times we ordered our drinks 3 times before we we’re finally served or left without anything and went elsewhere.
I traveled with my two daughters aged 11 and 9. We absolutely loved this place! The water park was the highlight for the girls they spent many hours on it. We also brought our own snorkelling gear and we were able to snorkel any time we wanted, although it's much better at high tide. We saw many colourful fish. We also loved the food. We tried every restaurant and the kids ate for free at all places, except the Golden Cowrie. The staff at the Shangri-la are super friendly and helpful. We also went on the Tivua Island day trip, which was so lovely aqua blue waters through the glass bottom boat and more fantastic snorkelling. Overall a very memorable holiday experience, highly recommend this place!
Shangri-la was a beautiful resort for our recent family holiday. The location was by the beach, the resort was huge with a large variety of things to do, although our kids were more than happy to spend all day at the pool.
The grounds are well maintained as are the rooms, although a little old.
The staff were faultless. So kind, gentle, happy and accommodating.
And do yourselves a favour and go to the Italian restaurant - the food was amazing.
The resort is a one stop shop. There is no need to leave the resort, they have everything covered. The kids club was fantastic and all the facilities were very good. We would happy return.
We enjoyed our recent holiday at the Shangri la Fiji. What a wonderful atmosphere...the staff are so friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Yanuca Lagoon Deluxe rooms and found them very comfortable and handy to everything in the resort. There were plenty of eating options. We really enjoyed the buffet with a great selection of food every night. The pool area is great but we swam in the ocean most of the time as the water was so clear and beautiful. Easy snorkelling just off the beach with plenty of coral and pretty little fish to see. We are from the Whitsundays (Aus) so we like clear water to swim in, we loved the ocean around the Shangri la Resort, it was amazing. We would definitely stay here again.
Staff were exceptional.
A great place to stay. Lots of water sports. Multiple dining options available. Super friendly staff.
The weather there is far better than most of Fiji during the rainy season. We stayed for 9 days and got no reason even though it rained in other parts of the island.
If you have done Bali and Thailand, try Fiji.
Loved the resort. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Clean rooms. Resort had everything we needed, pool, beach, lots of activities, restaurants were fantastic too. Kids aged 11 & 13 had so much fun. We will be back. Thank you
We absolutely loved the SGL. Rooms are light bright and airy, beach and pool is stunning. Staff and everything else - spot on!
Beautiful ocean setting with hours of play for the kids. Between the inflatable ocean course, snorkeling, kyaking and swimming we barely saw the kids. We didn’t even use the kids club or babysitting in our package. We loved our holiday.
The Shangri-La Fiji was absolute paradise. We had a lovely room, nothing to flashy, two queen beds perfect for our family. With amazing balcony views straight out to see. The resort is huge, (a lot of walking) but we found there are so many things to do. The staff are the nicest people we have met, happy to help in any way they can. Already thinking about when we can take our kids back (2 & 4 yrs) they’re was so much for them to do. Food in Fiji is absolutely beautiful. We used an amazing nanny who the kids loved, she was happy to do anything we asked in regards to the kids and allowed for the kids and Mum and Dad to have the best holiday! Fiji is our new favourite place!
Amazing holiday with the kids. Perfect location, clean rooms, friendly staff, amazing breakfast. Kids loved the kid’s club! Will definitely be back
Great holiday, beautiful location, great people, the best way to celebrate a birthday with family. Hope to return again.
Resort was great, having a second pool option was great as it was much quieter than the main pool, but our kids preferred the main pool. The wibit inflatable water park was fun and we did a short day trip. Food was of a good standard and had a great meal in the golden cowrie restaurant.
Kids loved the water park, great lunch deal with buy one adult meal get x 2 kids meal free, great breakfast
We had our wedding here and it exceeded our expectations thanks to Mr Mosese. All the staff where friendly we got smiles and where greeted by everyone of them even cleaners and maintenance. There is lots of choice for dining. We especially loved the buffet dinner that was great value for what you got about $60 ea inclueded desert. Great for kids. We had 40 of our family and friends staying here and not one complained.
It's about an hour to 2 hour drive to and from the airport and the communication with transport was a bit difficult so make sure to leave extra time.
Loved it, We would definitely be back.
We had a lovely time as a family of 4! Plenty to do and the water park provided loads of entertainment for our 8 year old! My 6 year old loved getting her hair braded by the pool side and making clay moulds with local Women. The food was lovely and we had a great time!
We had a fantastic family holiday at the Shangri-La - we stayed in the ocean wing with amazing views. The bathrooms are a little dated but serviceable, complete with a bath for small children. My son loved kids club and the choice of pools were great!
This is our second trip to Fiji and wouldn’t have imagined staying anywhere else but at the Shangri La. The resort is great, our room spacious and clean, food options endless and yummy, the staff amazing!! The only two bits of feedback I would give is that they need more family entertainment at night time where the whole family can come and enjoy, and second is cheaper drink prices.
We didn't leave the resort we had everything we needed there
The resort offers a lot of free activities to keep kids amused all day. The staff are lovely and always greet you with a big 'BULA' and friendly smile. My kids loved the towel animals left on their beds and my eldest loved the daily activities by the Lagoon Pool. The buffet breakfast was a hit with the kids, who doesn't want ice cream for breakfast when on holidays! There was a large variety of food to choose from across all restaurants and kids eat free for some of the locations was an added bonus which is probably why sometimes things are a little pricey, especially drinks. Things really do run to 'Fiji time' so don't be in a hurry for SOME things. Just relax it all happens eventually.
Wonderful Family holiday.
friendly , efficient, proffessional service from all staff. a special call out to staff member Jack Bukawaqa for making us feel so welcomed , and for his exemplery service.
We loved the hotel people, always happy and smiling. Extra thank you for our nanny Ili.
Dining was good and kids menu great as well. We loved our stay at Shangri-La and kids had great time.
Room was spacious and bed comfortable, only one little minus was that room was bit dated.
The only comment I can offer They need much more lighting around the Resort
Loved the Shangri-la and loved the staff
We had a fantastic time at the Shangri la and we would highly recommend the resort.
No one does winter like Fiji. Highly recommend the reef wing for people traveling without kids - the adults only infinity pool and evening cocktails are great. Food is good and there's lots of breakfast options.
Service is not the best, but we were well looked after.
Our whole stay at Shangri-La was fabulous. From the moment we got there, the room, the facilities, restaurants and most importantly the staff were all just amazing!
Our third trip & have enjoyed ourselves each time. Staff, service & location [although you are resort bound to some degree] are beautiful. Prices in some ares are excessive but overall a wonderful stay. Only downside was our room had some mold spots on the ceiling. Will come back again
We enjoyed it
Beautiful location, great for families with younger children.
Kids club was great.
Resort restaurants were nice but food was very average and expensive.
Staff and locals were great, setting was amazing & hotel was slick with plenty of options. Lunch was the only downside with limited options. Already planning our next trip to Fiji and wondering why we waited so long to go
BULA!
This place definitely met all our expectations. Staff are very friendly and activities are great!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay , great accommodation with beautiful views, very relaxing .
I loved the guided off site bike tour, & the guided around the Island kayak tour with "Moses".
Love the outdoor pools & the "Fire Dancing Show",.
Thank you for the free on site shuttle service , & free kayak hire. I would have burrowed a bike for on site
riding , if it was free. All the staff were super polite & friendly, the cleaning staff, the restaurant staff , grounds staff etc. Thank you for a fantastic holiday. We would recommend Shangri-La resort to anyone & we will certainly consider coming again !
We have returned to the shangri la after 8yrs and found it to just as gorgeous as before. It was a little tired but the restaurants amazing. Good value food. And great entertainment. Service was great. We would go back.
This is our second time to your Resort. Very child Friendly. Love everything about your Resort. We love the Animal towels on our bed everyday. We always looked forward to see what would be on our bed. Plus the heart made out of shell necklace. Everyone on your staff is so friendly and helpful. Loved the cocktails and food. Breakfast time is awesome. Just LOVE LOVE your resort.
There’s something for everyone here; romantic couples, families, and in my case - a big group of friends.
Food is of excellent quality. We stayed at the Novotel near Suva, and it paled in comparison.
Facilities are good. It is on a self-contained island with a 6 bars & 4 restaurants, bike hire & tours, kayaks, golf, snorkeling, 3 pools, and other activities. There are good restaurants nearby (Geckos & Tomlu’s). And is a short taxi ride to Sigatoka.
We also went zip-lining nearby, and to the mud-baths near Nadi.
Is well set-out. Rooms are good. Service is good.
I have been to the Shangri La on a few occasions and it never disappoints. A wonderful resort staffed with amazing people who go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
We recently got back from staying at the shangri-la for our honeymoon. We also took our 2 small children with us. The resort is beautiful, amazing facilities and wonderful service from all the staff. Our room was perfect, breakfast was delicious the only negative I have is the resort was quiet so there was only 2 restaurants to eat for dinner with the kids the other was adults only. The food was beautiful just would of been good to have more options available. The resort is expensive for food and alcohol but you expect that, next time will plan ahead better and bring more snacks alcohol duty free etc before coming to the resort. Overall very very happy will definitely be back. Thank you :-)
This is the ultimate resort for all, plenty to do, great food and even better service.
It was lovely to see so many happy smiling Fijian people working at the resort .
Don't really have much to complain about the Shangri-La. This was our 7th trip to Fiji and our first time stay at this resort. Stayed in mid Jan and travelled with 4 other families.
Our room was spacious (1bdrm suite near the Reef Safari) and newly renovated. Had a few issues, but nothing which really bothered our family of 5 or house keeping couldn't help resolve.
The breakfast buffet was amazing compared to many other resorts we have been too in Fiji. There were so many options and there were a few different items each day. I really don't know what other people are complaining about. You need to be there before 9am else during peak times, you would have to queue to get a table.
The food standards for lunch and dinner were great. The Bar and Grill is well recommended for their al la carte menu. Food is served fairly quickly and prices are reasonable.
It is worthwhile to get meal vouchers when you book. For a family of 5 over 10 days, we spent about Fj$1700. Our main meals were breakfast and dinner. We had light snacks and a few drinks while at the pool or on the beach during the day. Have to say the drinks alcohol and non alcoholic were on the pricey side.
The resort is unexpectedly large, so be prepared to walk from one place to another. But it is a wonderful way to explore the resort.
The staff were all very friendly and accommodating.
There is a Westpac ATM on site (Fj$15 transaction fee on top if your usual banking fees).
A few souvenior shops on site and also a mini-mart to get your snacks and staples/emergency items.
Have to say, this is the first resort we have been to Fiji which didn't supply fins and snorkles for patrons to use for free all day. There is a charge of Fj$10/pp per day after the first hour.
The snorkel safari is well recommended and a trip to a village/school and Sigatoka.
Have always loved going to Fiji and this has been the best holiday so far.
Can't wait to go back again!
Our holiday was great. The resort was lovely and the staff were amazing!
My only dislike was that the pools closed at 6pm each evening so there wasn't a lot aside from eating that could be done - our kids enjoyed kids club but would have preferred to be swimming under lights at night!
Shangri La staff are very helpful.
Fantastic accommodation, rooms are good and comfortable, loads to do for everyone - golf, massage, swimming in the pool, beach, snorkelling in the lagoon, aqua splash, paddle boards, tennis and loads more to do. Add to this the most amazing sunsets and fantastic food and its an amazing place for a holiday.
We are a family of four. Our two children aged 5 & 8 really enjoyed the holiday and loved the kids club. Frog races and crab races for the kids. Was nice to be able to relax while they were having fun. The food was lovely. Staff amazing. Would recommend this resort to anybody. The main pool was beautiful and clean, had shallow areas for young children and a deep end for scuba diving practice. The toddlers pool was lovely. We had a look at the adults only wing of the resort and it is beautiful with a stunning infinity pool. This place was better than I imagined it to be and we all had such a relaxing time.
This restaurant was amazing- so many dishes to choose from- great price too, beautiful views of the coral coast from this just renovated resort!
A very relaxing holiday. If that’s what you’re hoping for, then this location is perfect. Service was fantastic. All staff were warm, kind & generous with their time, especially our children. The water activities were great. Pools were very good also. Accommodation was well appointed and clean. My only comment is that the family sleeping arrangements were fine for our young children (9,6 &4) however any older/bigger than this you may wish to consider an alternative room or interconnecting options that have proper beds. The divans were fine for our two younger children but my 9yo would have struggled if had to sleep on them. Otherwise overall a fantastic family holiday & we would visit again!
I can’t wait to go again!
.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shangri la.
The staff are lovely and always willing to help. Our rooms was situated away from the main activities and dining which made it peaceful.
Overall we were happy with Shangri la and would return to this hotel.
Couldn't fault the service always with a smile. Food a bit pricey but really good food. Not really a bad word to say
Loved Shangri-La!!
We were welcomed by wonderful happy staff and looked after by that staff the whole stay
Just got home from a 6 night staying lagoon deluxe king room. Travelling with hubby and 3 and 5 yr old daughters.Room was nice, would recommend ground floor if available.we were on 2nd floor.Trundel bed was very narrow but our 3yr old prefers our bed anyway.
Breakfast was fantastic!!! Great variety, service and location.
We had $350 room credit and that was almost enough for us as we didn’t buy alcohol and ate either lunch or dinner at the Beach Bar and Grill, great food every time.We took snacks, noodles, long life milk from home.We also got our driver to stop on the way to grab some beer and water.
You can drink the tap water there.
Our package included a free romantic dinner at the Italian Restaurant,$200 to spend, absolutely delicious!!
Although there are renovations going on down the other end it didn’t effect us around the lagoon pool.we walked to the golf shop, chapel and across to Gecko’s resort over the entrance bridge.Craig from security was lovely at the main entrance and Rachael at the chapel cracked us open a coconut which we all loved eating. Thanks again!
Kids club was good and our babysitter Terisia was very nice.
Could do with a few more paddleboards. All in all very happy with our stay,Thankyou
This resort is one of my favourites in Fiji. Warm welcome, friendly helpful staff, great service and staff that take pride in ensuring everyone has a great stay! Great facilities, additional tours and lots to do or just relax! Couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
This resort is fantastic for families with young children. Plenty of activities to do while the parents relax by the pool, get a massage or snorkel. Expect to pay resort prices for food and beverages though.
Great time thankyou
Good also for honeymooners and couples.
Thankyou for the wondering time. Looking forward to Seeing the adults only area when it reopens.
More shade on the beach
We travelled to Fiji on a family trip to celebrate a milestone birthday. Group stayed at the Shangri La which was a great choice. Lovely grounds, wonderful staff and something for all ages to do. We will be back!!
Great resort, rooms were clean, bed comfortable, staff were absolutely superb.
We had a good time the Nanny was very nice and happy Lita.
The new water park was so much fun!
Beautiful place to stay. Heaps to do and wonderful staff.
Our family enjoyed our stay at Shangri-La. Our boys loved the waterpark and the games room and used these most days. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning and found the options for dinner good for our 8 night stay. Our boys have food allergies and the Shangri-La staff were very helpful with this and also careful and thorough as well which was impressive. We would love to visit again.
This is our 3rd stay and we had a great time with the family.
We absolutely loved all aspects of our stay at the Shangri La and could not fault a thing. Staff were super friendly, beach and pool were amazing, water park was unreal, food was sensational and rooms lovely.
Easy holiday for a family and young couple.
The value was worth the trip and the service was great! Really happy.
Great service. Good range of activities. Great for families. Just an easy, relaxing holiday.
It was the perfect place for us to visit with two young children, loved the place.
Beautiful resort, clean, friendly staff - it just ticked all the boxes for us. Can't wait to return
This was the perfect place for us to unwind and relax. The children were able to swim and take part in a number of activities. Breakfast was a treat to look forward to each morning and the Beach Bar and Grill was our stop for lunch and dinner. The food was fantastic and the friendliness of the staff made each dining experience a pleasure.
We will go back!
We will go back for sure!
We picked Shangri La Fiji because it looked so inviting. We will return because of the staff. They are some of the warmest, happy and generous people we've ever met.
Had a great time. Great place to stay.
I highly recommend this place for families. We spent 6days and it was enough to stay in one place.
The staff n fijian people were beautiful. Super pleasant and so many activities for the kids to do. #nohurry #noworry
We had an awesome time here, so much to do. Loved that you can snorkel straight off the beach. The inflatable water park is a must - so much fun!! Wifi was a bonus. Staff very helpful. We had a fun, relaxed and amazing holiday!! Highly recommend!!
great snorkelling off the beach. Food a little expensive. Most staff were very friendly.
Staff were very friendly. Resort was lovely will be back again
Shangri-La is a great place to stay for a family holiday, convenient location, friendly staff, currently updating a number of eating venues. Highly recommended.
We loved our stay at Shangri La Fijian Resort. The food was great, facilities very good & the staff all very friendly & accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble & their smiles greeted us everywhere. Bulla. We will certainly be back.
We appreciated the adult only dining & pool. A great idea for those of us that are travelling without children & want a relaxing time.
Tropical location with facilities to suit all ages and needs. Several pools, restaurants, gym, spa, tennis, golf etc.
Have visited many times over the years and found the food to be greatly improved.
Vinaka!
We won't forget the lovely service and laughs at Beach Bar & Grill with Erawelli and Sai!! xxx
Also beautiful Sarah in the beads and braclets section up from the foyer!
It is hard to fault the Shangri-La except to say our visit was too short! What a resort! There is so much to do and absolutely nothing you have to do, it's so easy to get involved in activities, water sports for all ages. Or do nothing but enjoy the perfect surrounds.
Everything you need is right there, the food is excellent and the kids club was so much fun our child couldn't wait to go everyday.
We will return and stay longer next time!
The location, food, and staff are 5 stars and 7days was def not enough for us we didnt want to leave. Beautiful surroundings & authentic feel about the property.
Enjoyed our stay
Beautiful place with friendly staff. Breakfast was awesome. Not much varities for dinner. Good overall experience.
Ideal location, rooms are clean, variety of activity offered
Amazing
Shangri la fiji was amazing, rooms were great, service was awesome. Love the relaxed nature of everyone. If you are in a rush and can't relax fiji is not for you. Take a good book and plenty of sunscreen and just enjoy your life away from the rat race of big city living.
Excellent Place for a short holliday food excellent, great time
Thank you to Resort Manager, Chris, and the entire Shangri-la Team.
Chris is an exceptional manager and went out of his way to ensure our stay was very special. He arranged for us to be in a room next to our friends, so our little boys could play together while the parents got a chance to chill out. And followed up on surfing advice to the boys.
Our room was beautifully cleaned every day and our little boy loved to find the towel animal on his bed each afternoon.
The floating water park was a fabulous surprise! WOW!!!
We can certainly recommend this resort for a fun, relaxed and enjoyable family vacation.
Staff very friendly, and obliging. So many activities to keep both kids and adults occupied. No shortage of delicious food and amazing views. A truly wonderful stay.
Love the Shangri-la. This was our 3rd visit and we'll be back next year for sure. New water park is fantastic and the choice of restaurants and bars is great. There is something for everyone at the Shangri-la
July was a great time to go to Fiji! From the warm weather to the warmth of each “Bula” from staff the Shangri-La Fijian (which we’ve been back to 5 times) is a comfortable and beautiful property. Located only an hour from Nadi, the property’s grounds are beautiful and vast with all rooms having a water view of some type (rare in Fiji). We dined outside the resort once and hated it. The resort has lovely dining options and is undergoing renovations which will expand its offerings for teens as well as dining. Cocktails are still below par, prices are quite good in relation to Sydney prices but it’s the people/ staff that make it. We traveled as a family of four with pre-teen kids and loved every moment
Great place for kids, lots of activities.
Terrific all around resort. Renovations have improved it out of sight.
Loved the Resort, very clean, service was excellent and people were friendly. The facilities for the kids were excellent. Highly recommend this hotel for families
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was not overcrowded.
Whilst it’s not a 5 Star Resort, if you can appreciate it for good food, friendliness, fun and activities for kids you’ll be happy.
From the moment we arrived at the resort we felt at home. Everyone was so welcoming. We were meant to stay in an Ocean Grand Deluxe room but it was still being refurbished so we were upgraded to 2 interconnecting rooms with reef views. We were in a ground floor level and was so good for our 3 kids as they spent a lot of afternoons on the grass kicking the ball. The room was in a very quiet location and located close to the Takalai restaurant which proved to be our favourite at the resort. We found the food to be the best here and the staff looked after us well. All the staff were so lovely with the kids from the boys at the gates, the lifeguards, the lady that did our rooms for the day and left adorable little creations with the kids toys, kids club ladies, our lovely Nanny Andi... the list goes on.
Ideal for families with kids under 13 lots to do and wonderful place
We absolutely loved our stay here. The staff were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The resort genuinely welcomes and caters for children, and we felt completely safe to let the kids engage in all the activities available knowing the staff were taking good care of us. Food on the resort was generally quite good, dietary requirements were well catered for. Beautiful setting, comfortable rooms, amazing spa and lots of fun stuff to do. Amazing, wonderful staff. We will be back.
Loved our stay at the Shangri-La we’ll defiantly go back.
Great getaway for families with young kids
The breakfast menu is always the same which got a little boring after the second day and I find the staff at the restaurant a little slow. They are all so friendly though, it’s hard to be negative.
Bula! I have just returned from 8 nights at this resort with my wife and 2.5 year old twin boys. The best part was the nanny service. We had the same nanny every day, she was excellent with our boys, punctual, nothing too much of a problem, and best of all cheap as chips (A$4.50 an hour!).
BULA, Great Family holiday, all the staff are so friendly, rooms were clean food was ok, romantic dinner was great, get ground floor lagoon deluxe room if you got kids in front of pool.
Thank you Shangri-la and all the staff, my family enjoyed our stay
Tyrone
This was our second stay at this resort and we will be back. They are working hard on completing an upgrade, especially to their main restaurant, but the didn’t effect us too much. It is a shame the Italian place is only for adults and kids can’t eat there. Outstanding Kids Club with with lovely staff and an amazing water park with friendly and helpful life guards. Hopefully when all of the renovations are complete, this place will be even better.
Excellent pool facilities and options for kids to play. Reccomend upgrading to the ground floor lagoon deluxe rooms. Better access to pools and outside
Excellent family resort. Staff so friendly. Room was very clean/great location. Food was delicious. Great atmosphere. Plenty of activities for kids.
From the staff, porter drivers, housekeepers, waitresses, security to even the chefs practically everyone who works there they all greet you with a warm welcome everyone says hi when you walk past, it truly was the best holiday i've had.
The duty managers esp the Asian lady was kind & lenient to my requests, the front ladies who pleaded my case when i missed my transfer bus to a tour but i was in the lobby just wasn't called out helped me get on another bus to get to my tour! The porter drivers who were kind enough to drop me & pick me up even just to the front entrance. Security who gave my date a visitors pass so he can roam freely with me at resort.
I visited with just my 2 kids & i but i never felt alone!! I felt so safe. A driver was organised for me thank you Moses for being a 5 star chauffer. Chandra my housekeeper left a different animal on my bed every morning made out of a towel and an "i love you" msg using necklaces my kids loved it!!
The pool bar had waiters come to your sun bed asking if you require anything.
I had a fave waitress at the Buffet who always looked after my kids & i reminding me of Indian night or Fijian night. You literally don't lift a finger here.
Overall i will not stay anywhere else & Shangri-La i will be back!!
Enjoyed our stay.Lovely sunny days.Good weather.Friendly hard working staff.
Set in a beautiful location with incredibly friendly staff.
I would think this place and the trip is the best fit for a family with children, allow for at least a week long,,Take a trip to nearby local town and market, you would find an amazing experience there.
Food wasnt fabulous for the price you pay. Otherwise the resort was clean and beautiful
Thank you Shangri-la for giving us some peace and relaxation for our young family.
We had a great time and loved the friendly staff.
We had 6 nights at shangri la, with our 2 young daughters. It was a great family holiday. Whilst it’s not 5 star, there is so much for the kids to do that it made up for not having the added luxuries! Beach bar Grill and Golden Cowrie were great for food, the buffet was hit and miss. The nannys and kids club were absolutely fantastic and allowed us to have a break as well. We will definitely return
We absolutely loved our stay at Shangri La Resort. The service was amazing, the people are amazing, they were wonderful with my kids. They had so many activities to keep the kids entertained. The food was absolutely delicious. I don't have any negative things to say about this resort. Such beautiful people and a beautiful culture. "BULA VINAKA"
The staff are amazing very good with kids thanks to all the great staff at the shangri la really recommend it for family’s especially with kids they were awesoum thanks to Jay, Eddie, Marly, Rosa, ace, wise and the rest of the staff there you were all more than great thanks for the royalty treatment these guys have become like family, love you all and hope to see you all soon.
We were very impressed with the Shangri la. Beautiful place, people and surroundings. Went with a 3yo who loved the pool as did we, plus the happy hours! Rooms were lovely and a good size and renovated and we had adjoining rooms which made it easy for 2 families. Bathrooms were very spacious and had everything you need. Meals were good and plenty of options. Plenty to do if you want to, or just sit back and enjoy the view. Adult only pools also available. Staff were lovely and very helpful. We'll be back!
It was an amazing holiday. The place and the people was very welcoming. It's a paradise for kids and for parents. Well organised activities for everyone. The staff was the best I have ever come across. The food can do better . For the price it's not amazing. Needs a good coffee machine.
We love going to the Shangri La, nothing is a problem for the staff there, so friendly and helpful.
We had a perfectly balanced holiday of relaxation and activities. Resort facilities were perfect for our needs. We went at a quiet time which made things more comfortable for us. Our kids (9 and & 7) attended some kids club sessions and loved it. While they were there, dad went scuba diving and mum went to the spa (both at extra cost) or enjoyed time in the pool.
Resort staff were awesome. Friendly and helpful and quickly learned our kids names. Food was good although pricey. We left the resort for 4 dinners. 2 nights each at Tomlu's and Stallions restaurants - both a 5min and $10(rtn) cab trip away. Their meals were fantastic and cost us about 150 FJD for meals and drinks for the 4 of us.
Kids are already talking about when we can return!
A very enjoyable family holiday! Fantastic pool / pools for the young ones ! Rooms were very clean & Tidy . Staff always friendly ! Food was a bit average..... they definitely cook seafood the best !
The resort and location are beautiful, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Our family room wasn’t quite big enough for 5 people but we managed, our room had a horrible smell for the first couple of days coming from the air conditioner, could only smell it when entering the room. Overall experience was great, we will return for another visit.
Just come back from another great holiday at Shanghai-la Fijian resort everything was amazing the people the weather we went on the Natadola day trip through the resort highly recommend the village and school visit was so much fun. Thankyou everyone that work at the resort
Beautiful facilities, great service, enjoyable stay. Will recommend highly.
We all had a wonderful time. The staff made the time just perfect with there infectious laughs and very helpful manner. There was so much to do that it covered all ages. The pools are just great and with the beach and sea so close you can take your choice. The food is great and the new renervations are just supburb.
All you wish on leaving is that it want be too long till you return.
A beautiful resort with something for all ages. A bit dated it parts, but certainly nothing that would stop me from staying there again. Staff always friendly, warm and helpful in all areas and departments.
Loved my holiday. Great Service!
Great Break.
There are no words to describe how fantastic this resort is.
Havent been to Fiji for about 4 years and Shangri La Fijian Resort didn't disappoint. We had a great time, the staff were lovely, the food was great, is a little bit more expensive then last time we went but still the perfect break before returning to work for another year.
The Water Park was great fun but extremely hard for us older folk lol
Chi Spa was fantastic, we had the couples massage which was amazing
The Shangri-La Fiji occupies the whole of a small island joined to the mainland by a 100m causeway. The resort lobby was beautiful and all of the staff extremely friendly and helpful (including the 'gate keeper'.
Whilst the food and drink prices are comparable to Australian restaurants, it can add up quickly. We suggest going into Sigatoka and stocking up on some much cheaper food and drinks including water. The resort can arrange transport to Sigatoka. The food we did purchase at the resort was good. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The housekeeping at the Shangri-La is patchy but the housekeepers are lovely. We did get cute little messages and towel animals left on our beds. All other facilities are good including the spa, 3 pools, water park, playground, tennis & basketball courts, golf course.
The Fijian people we met were happy and friendly. You will quickly become familiar with the terms 'bula' (hello) and 'vinaka' (thank you). I loved Fiji and will return.
We will definitely be back
Very nice resort in lovely location. The staff were very nice and friendly but things were a bit overpriced.
We had a great family holiday at the Shangri-La Fiji resort, staying in adjoining ocean view rooms. The facilities and friendly service were outstanding and the resort is in a most beautiful setting. The only complaint was with some (not all) of the dining which we felt was overpriced and occasionally substandard.
Absolutly perfect for families. We had such a fantastic time. Everyone was soo nice.
Great place to experience a wedding celebration. The staff are all amazing. The grounds are beautiful and tidy. Thankyou Shangri-la
A great family holiday - pool and beach all day almost every day!!! Super friendly and helpful staff. Everyone was so accommodating with the kids. The nanny service was amazing!
Overall very relaxing for parents and with lots of entertainment options for the kids.
Loved the location, lagoon, pool and lawn activities were all close to our room. So many activities for kids and the downtime for parents. Can't beat the cocktails by the pool... which were delivered to you, was great! Snorkeling was amazing, so much to see, and the staff were incredibly friendly!
Would recommend for families!
I would highly recommend this resort for families. The staff were so friendly with the children and there were activities planned for each day. The resort is very family oriented and rooms were clean and tidy. We had a fantastic relaxing holiday.
This hotel is perfect for a fun family holiday. Great location not too far from airport. Plenty activities for the whole family or simply to take in the scenery and relax. Breakfast is great and other food is nothing to write home about, but generally good.
Highly recommended
Beautiful location, lots of things to do. Food and beverage is expensive and the resort is a bit dated. Staff are friendly, service was good and overall a great family holiday!
We spent a week at the hotel. Food was great although expensive as you would expect from a resort. Alcohol was very expensive but the happy hours were pretty good. Plenty of free things to do and there was always some activity on. Beach was lovely and pools were awesome. Staff were very helpful
Wonderful place to take the family the people are really friendly, the pool is great, the rooms were a little tired but they're getting renovated at the moment, the restaurants were nice and there was a few choices available.
We loved our stay at the Shangri-La ,everybody was friendly and helpful , there was activities available all the time , the food and service was awesome . I highly recommend the cabana romantic diner for 2 , the food was delicious and the service was excellent , thank you Fiji .
A really great place for families. Made to feel welcome at every part of the resort. Great food, and lots of variety. The plans for renovation and development will make this even better. We will go back.
The current renovations did not impact on us in any way.
Great stay at a fantastic location, service was great.
Overall we enjoy the Shangri la, however having been there 3 times now I find the food selections need updating. Otherwise the staff are really great and we do enjoy going to the resort. Adult pool is awesome
We went as a couple and found the adult only pool and breakfast excellent. The Asian restaurant was excellent. Wine very expensive, room service handy but could be very slow. Beach area was good with white sand and decent area to swim and snorkel. All in all good value with the package we received.
good friendly staff
This was our second trip to the Shangri La, Fiji.
We spent long lazy days around the pool and swimming with the kids.
We mainly ate at the beach bar and grill. The food is good....... not great. I felt the food in terms of quality and price was comparable with aussie pub food prices. We found it was cheaper to dine at the beach bar and grill than it was to go to the buffet, even though the kids eat free at the buffet.
The friendliness and willingness of resort staff to go the extra mile is what really makes this resort work
Don't worry about the renovations that are on-going. We were in the block beside the area being renovated, and barely noticed that they were going on.
This is our 4th stay at this resort. We are treated like family when we return. A great venue to relax and soak up the Fijian sunshine.
Excellent stay for a family of 5 sharing two adjoining ocean view rooms on the top level of the wing. Very enjoyable resort and friendly staff. Excellent snorkling over the shallow reefs out the front of the ocean villas and also further offshore for families with young kids. Bula Vinaka
Overall a great resort ( particularly for families) this is our 2nd trip to this resort but on this occasion we left our 2 teenagers at home as the kids stay and eat for free does not extend for 16 & 17 year olds. I feel that once at the resort all the "extras" are extremely overpriced. Location is fantastic.
The resort is over 35 years old and isn't an extemely modern hotel, however the grounds, the cleanliness of the resort, the beautiful pools and restaurants are beyond what I expected. The staff are excellent. The heart and soul they put into their work is amazing. I loved every day of my stay, wish I was staying longer. The farewell song on the morning we left bought me to tears. Love it
Great for a family holiday. Relaxing with plenty to do if you chose. Food options for vegans were limited.
Helpful, friendly staff. Appreciated the adults only areas of the Resort.
Had a great time here. Resort is very expensive for drinks and meals are a bit on the expensive side but keeping this in mind if you are willing to leave the resort and try other dining options its a perfect location. We ate at Geckos across the road from the resort and also at Tomlus which is a cheap taxi fare away. We did a tour into Port Denaru so we could do the trip to Cloud 9 and had an amazing day. The Shangri-La is set in a beautiful location and we were lucky enough to have a ground floor ocean view room. I think its more of a family location, if you are looking for nightlife you wont get much of that there. They do have a DJ who was really good and happy to play your requests. I can see why they have a lot of repeat guests !! enjoyed our time.
I have visited the Shangri La on a number of occasions and always have a fantastic holiday. The staff at the Shangri La are most genuine and kind people. Their service is second to none.
we stayed for 6 nights at the shangri-la fiji . excellent resort with all the facilities under one roof.even has a kids club during the day and night .only drawback were the rooms which can be maintained and cleaned better.
We have stayed here before and return because we love the relaxed atmosphere and friendly service from the fijians.
We had a fantastic family holiday 100% will be back.
My partner and two sons stayed in January 2017. Thanks to Mun and the staff od ShangriLa, we had an amazing time.
Resort a little isolated in location and we felt that we were pressured to do all of our holiday activities through the resort. Apart from that aspect, we had a fabulous stay. Lovely staff, we felt very welcomed.
It was the perfect place for a family holiday
If you want relaxation pure in a beautiful environment for the whole family then look no further than the Shangri La Fjian. Bula vinaka to the hotel and staff!
Wow what a great stay we all had a great 10 day stay. The shangri la is lovely an older resort but looking forward to see the completed renovations. I loved my massage by the adult pool and the chi spa yes I had 2 massages in 9 days. The food in all the restaurants were just delicious. My husband is a head chef and he didn't fault one thing about the food. We really did enjoy the Asian food near adult pool. All the Fijians were very friendly and hope to see you again next year.
We had a very relaxing 7 night stay at he Shangri La Resort. We booked 2 rooms for a family of 5. They were adjoining which worked really well. Located on the lagoon side near the pool which was very convenient. Rooms were serviced daily and complimentary water was appreciated. Beds were so comfortable and we had the best sleeps helped by the quiet and effective aircon.
Food and drinks were very expensive but the buffet choice was excellent.
The kids made lots of friends and enjoyed the pool, water activities and free organised activities such as pool basketball, soccer and cricket.
It was a great family holiday.
This resort is very big but the Fijians still manage to remember names and provide personal service. The resort itself is clean and maintenance requests are responded to promptly and efficiently. The issue is that the resort is getting a little tired and the need to make maintenance requests came a little too often. This will probably be addressed in the current round of refurbishments being undertaken. The work on the refurbishments did not detract from our enjoyment of the property at all.
Still a great place for a family holiday and within easy reach of Nadi and Sigatoka.
It was a great first impression of Fiji. Great destination for families with young children as they are well catered for. The Fijian people are so welcoming and embraces you from the minute you get off the plane. Will definitely visit again and again!!!
We had a very pleasant stay at the Resort. The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful.
Overall we had a great time and enjoyed our stay.
Thank you.
Top spot for families . We will be back next year. Travel Oline sorted everything perfectly.
Lots of daily activities which are free BUT look into food in restaurant and alcohol prices which are very expensive. Free Buffet breakfast is ok if you are travelling free of children go upstairs to adults only breakfast much quieter, staff are amazing and very friendly.
I would recommend this resort
Great location, great amenities and wonderful staff
Great location. Beautiful lagoon. Food and drink and miscellaneous expensive. We went at a slow time of year and some of the resort rooms were closed for renovations. Would be really busy with all rooms full. Staff are lovely!
We just spent 10 fantastic days at the Shangri-La Fiji. It was our first overseas family 'beach' holiday with our three children (14, 12 & 9) and we LOVED IT!
The staff were all so friendly and helpful and so wonderful with the children - especially their three fantastic pool entertainers - Ace, Marley & Jay! They entertained the children (and most parents) every day with Pool Basketball, Soccer, Cricket, Touch Football and Volleyball. We'd go back again just to see them!
The food was nice but rather expensive, the kids did love the International Buffet as it meant they could eat whatever they wanted and as much as they wanted. The Breakfast was AMAZING - how do the ladies cook the eggs perfect every time? We did eat out of the resort a few times and that was a nice change.
There were some renovations going on while we were there, but they didn't impact on our holiday at all. The whole resort was clean and tidy and the rooms were serviced daily. The main pool and beach were lovely for the kids and the free water sports were well utilised by all of us. Thank you Shangri-La for a wonderful holiday - we will be back!
overall was great and staff are very nice and helpful
We were upgraded to beach rooms which were a long way from all restaurants and shops etc. However, it was a very quiet location away from the many children. The staff happily drove us to meals in their golf carts. Food and alcohol very expensive. To sum up - a lovely place for a restful and enjoyable holiday!
First time back in Fiji after an absence of 35 or more years and never having stayed in a large complex like this, all I can say how fantastic the experience was. Very family orientated but with one restaurant and one pool dedicated to adults only and strictly enforced. Shangri-La is the goods. Room was great, meals had a huge selection from four restaurants, but above all of that, was the service. Room staff, bar staff, wait staff and front off house, all magnificent. My wife has Coeliacs disease and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Service alone, I rate this hotel 5/5. Had a ball Shangri-La!
We are long time guests of the resort and it never disappoints
The renovations didn't disturb the stay at all other than there seemed to be a little less organisation
Location is second to none and the staff we beautiful, happy and well treated.
I have noticed a major shift in food quality which was lovely.. menus by the coral pool and cafe options were fantastic for lunch with a big family
Chi spa was out of this world..
A big resort with a big heart
Just perfect for families to relax or entertain very active children
My mum and I had a fantastic holiday at the Shangri-La. It was so relaxing and the people at the resort were so friendly and helpful - we can't wait to come back. The adults only pool and restaurants were great as we were travelling without the kids, and really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Views from the room were amazing!!
Great place to do as much or as little as you like. Staff very friendly, rooms were clean with great facilities. Caters for all from couples ( adult only areas) through to the extended family
You need to be able to fit to walk as it can be a long distance between the rooms and the various facilities.
Couldnt have asked for a more picturesque location. Rooms were clean and provided everything required. Resort had plenty to do, in fact a great holiday except for the low quality food. Paid restaurant prices for cafe quality food.
Very nice
Loved everything about the resort location and feature wise. The buffet breakfasts were awesome.
Our stay was great the kids had so much fun. The transfers were always on time. Would have liked to have seen a bit more local food on the menu's.
We loved our stay at the Shangri-la. The location is a kids' paradise, with the fantastic child-friendly pool, and beautiful shaded beach just on the doorstep. Everything was close - eateries, shops, playground. The staff were endlessly helpful and polite - they went out of their way to guide us to wherever we needed to go, or to answer our questions. My daughter Cleo had her 5th birthday party in the Cabana by the sea, and it was even better than I anticipated. Luce and the team really pulled out the stops to make the party a memorable occasion for the kids - down to the last detail (and there were a few special requirements which took extra effort!).
Only a couple of suggestions for improvement - getting into the Lagoon Restaurant for dinner seemed disorganised and difficult - with four tired children, that was a little frustrating. Checkout also took 35 minutes, which delayed us leaving for the airport - there were a few errors in the final bill to work through (discounts hadn't been applied, something was overcharged etc). I'd suggest that process needs fine-tuning - even if guests are contacted the night before to check through the bill as a matter of course, this would save time. Overall however, this was a fantastic holiday that we'll never forget. All our memories will be positive, and we'd certainly recommend the Shangri-La to our family and friends.
What a fabulous location with wonderfully friendly Fijians, however décor could really do with an update, especially in the restaurants.
Good value
worth staying at the lagoon end if you have children as close to beach and pool . Great spot for family break . I have been twice and would go back again !
We had a good time an the service was very polite and quick for the Fiji I remembered from many years ago.
The food was good at most restaurants. Except the Adults only dinner was a bit expensive for the quality of the food. A the wine prices were over the top.
Golf course is interesting, and the best on site course in Fiji with some very beautiful holes.
All considered we will be back!!.
Highly recommend the Shangi La for anyone we went over as a group of 10 ages from 10 years old to a 60 year old to celebrate my 40th birthday the Shangri La celebrated with us providing cakes flowers & celebration dances! staff are just beautiful the resort itself is amazing not one minute was anyone bored! Food variety & activities were in abundance no need to leave the resort as its all there for you our rooms were perfect! We can not wait to go back.
Vinaka
What a fantastic holiday, the food is fabulous and the staff are incredible and friendly, great if you are a couple or family there are lots of activities for the kids and an adults only restaurant and pool for couples. We will be back asap
Our first time to Fiji and Shangri-La with a young family and we were extremely happy with our selection. The resort is situated about 1hr from the Nadi Airport and the complex is huge covering all services along with a fantastic sandy beach for swimming. We were satisfied with the Ocean view family room, the rooms were cleaned and serviced daily with only the TV picture a bit fuzzy in our room as a negative. The staff were wonderful with the kids and the kids club and activities offered for the young ones was awesome giving us time to spend for adult dinners. The buffet breakfasts included in the price were fantastic, and the various restaurants on the island gave us enough dining options. Overall the food was reasonably priced and the quality was descent, the higher cost buffet options with shows gave us also some variety. Overall we had a great holiday and would not hesitate to go back.
A great place for all to enjoy young and old.A beautiful spacious and spectacular location with breathtaking views .Awesome staff to make sure you have a great holiday .Very friendly environment.
Only thing that you guys need is better stand ups and paddles get good size stand ups easy to use .
This is a great resort for young children and as the main purpose was to spend some time with our 4 year old granddaughter it was perfect . The staff are absolutely wonderful .
Having read the reviews we were a little worried but found that the resort and service were fantastic. The only complaint we would have is that the 'free equipment' was often not available as there wasn't sufficient available for the numbers of guests. If you have young children you will find this a fantastic destination. We have a teenager and it was less captivating for this age group but still relaxing.
The Shangri la was amazing for our family, after reading some reviews prior to going I was a little concerned however our room was great (didn't spend much time there) the staff were amazing and super helpful, definitely going back sooner rather than later.
My family and I had a great time. Pool, beach, kids/adult programmes, activities - there was constantly something to do. Locals were nice and helpful. Highly recommend it to families.
Love Fiji Time. Totally relaxed.
Played golf every day. Looking forward to returning.
Was amazed at how the staff treated not just me but everyone soo friendly especially with kids. Plenty of activities to do.
Fantastic hotel! Can't wait to go back
Great resort the staff made our stay perfect with smiles coming freely. Also we were given a free upgrade. The adult only breakfast area was great.
My husband and 2 children (5 and 6 yrs) and I stayed at the Shangri-la Fiji for a week at the start of June. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Despite renovations occuring at the main lobby checking in and out at the alternate lobby was no drama. We stayed in a superior lagoon view family room which was perfect for us and allowed easy and close access to the lagoon pool and beach. If travelling without children or if you want a quieter aspect then an ocean view room would likely be less busy. Alfred in the little chief's club took the kids on many adventures and our girls visited there for some activities on a few occasions. They have activities for the kids right up until 9:30pm if they wish. We stayed mostly within the resort complex but the school and village tour we did with Ace was great definitely recommend it, its only 3 hrs so not too long for the kids and you don't actually travel that far from the resort. I would definitely recommend getting your transport from the airport to stop at a local store prior to getting to the resort to pick up some bottled water and snacks ect also bring some duty free alcohol with you if you plan on drinking as the prices of bevvies and snacjs at the resort are typical inflated resort prices. The food was probably the biggest let down of the holiday, it was pretty ordinary and fairly hit and miss. The tekali restaurant with it's asian inspired menu was nice and the italian buffet night at the bilo bar was yum. We went to a polynesian themed night and whilst the fire dancers and knife dancers were great to watch the food was again a bit of a miss with us. We missed the fire walkers, which were only on a saturday night. Overall it was a great holiday and a fantastic resort for the family we had a great time.
My partner and I stayed at the Shangri-La Fijian Resort & Spa for 8 nights and had a great time. Being my first time in Fiji, I was blown away by the warmth and hospitality that was provided. Our room was on the third floor and over-looked the green lawns and just beyond that was the lagoon, which was a beautiful view. The staff were always happy, polite and incredibly helpful. We met a lovely woman named Kereni in the Terrace Lagoon who was always happy to serve us with a smile and a chat, and made dining at the restaurant always a pleasure. The resort offered a lot of great activities for adults and children alike that ranged from water sports to shows to outside tours, and we were completely enchanted when we went parasailing on our third day, the view was spectacular! I would definitely recommend this resort to future travelers, especially if you have a young family! I can most certainly see myself and my partner coming back here again!
An absolutely stunning location, people very friendly and the kids had an absolute ball.
We are so glad that Travel Online recommended the Shangri-la. It was perfect for us.
Beautifully positioned resort with warm, friendly staff. Breakfasts were amazing. Other food was relatively expensive as can be expected at a resort. Indianas restaurant in town was delicious. Staff were wonderful with our children. Overall a wonderful family holiday!
Greta place for families or couples who just want to relax and chill out!
Had a good time thanks
Staff very helpful and friendly
We absolutely loved the Shangri La. The location, facilities and staff are fabulous. We will definitely be going back!
Bar and food pricing is a little on the high side but the food was quite good
Enjoyable break away. The Fijian people are so very welcoming and friendly it was a pleasure to meet and speak with them.
Arrived just 3 days after cyclone Winston. As you would expect occupancy was low.
Resort was in really good order. Staff as usual always friendly and courteous.
So anyone wanting to help FIJI, go their for a holiday and boost the economy.
Will be returning next year for Bilo Bar reunion.
Good family holiday venue.
food average, excellent location & very clean well maintained grounds.
I stayed at the Shangri-La with my boyfriend for 8 Days and we were very impressed and very happy with our stay. The staff and locals are very friendly and accommodating. The food was good and the range that as offered was great. There were a range of activities available that you could choose to do or just relax by the pool or beach with excellent bar service. It is suitable for everybody, with families and children, or couples, with the option of the adult pool and adult only dining. It was a great experience and we would definitely consider going back again
There was so much to do at the resort we didn't need to rush anywhere and were able to truly relax while on holidays. While our teenage children took advantage of the pools, lagoons, snorkelling and fun friendly organised activities with the other guests we were able to swim in the adult pool and enjoy many of the delicious cocktails and food available. The Natadola Magical Tour was a definite highlight of the holiday and we would recommend people do this tour organised through the staff at the resort. Food was delicious, the staff were friendly and we will definitely be returning in the future.
Sangri-La Fiji was a wonderful resort, especially for families. Kids club (right up to 9pm) was a real treat for us parents allowing us to have a quiet dinner alone. All pools were fabulous (kids and adults only) and food at all restaurants was great (buffet options were slightly average however). I would definitely go back to this resort.
enjoyable
We traveled with a 3 year old and was so impressed with the location and facilities! Pools were amazing, the beach was fantastic and so safe. Staff were always lovely and doted on our son.
We did desire more free night entertainment as other resorts offer this but that was the only downer. Otherwise a lovely relaxing stay!
For the cost of this resort, the rooms definitely need an upgrade.
The pull out lounge was not a good bed for my 11 year old daughter to sleep on.
The main bed had big divits in both sides.
Analog TV bit behind the times.
Imery, Josie and Soulios fabulous job doing my girls hair, it was their favorite part of the trip. All staff were welcoming and friendly. Special thank you to Imery who offered to help me take my braids out when she could see i was struggling.
Big thank you to Alfred at kids club who went out of his way to ensure my girls had a great time. Alfred always greeted my girls with open arms saying " my children" followed by going jokes. My girls haven't stop talking about him since they got home.
Lala- my children said she was very kind at kids club.
Solo, who waited on our table most days for lunch was very welcoming and provided a great services throughout the duration of our stay. Solo was the reason we continued to dine in the restaurant for lunch.
We found Keni to be very informative about activities and tours which helped us a lot as this trip was the first time my family has been overseas. Keni was always helpful and didn't hesitate to assist us when we had enquirers/questions each day.
Ace- Very funny and entertaining we all loves it when he was around.
very relaxing
I would have expected more from the food given the price. More often than not food was overcooked or pre-cooked and heated up and so very dry. The resort facilities were excellent and my young children had a fantastic time
Relaxing and no need to leave the resort. There is little choice in dining options outside the resort and everything in the resort is expensive. Excellent choice for lovers just wanting to spend time together.
We paid extra Money to stay in a ground floor room with a door leading to the outdoor space and the beach and pool area however to lock the door and then gain access we had to constantly walk around the back of the building. I would like to suggest that card access be put onto both doors in the ground floor rooms.
enjoyed the islands amenities and meals catering for most tastes, the accommodation was 1st class and of course the local people, only one slight dissapointment was the snorkling around the island, whilst the water was crystal clear not a great deal to look at
WE THOROUGHLY ENJOYED OUR STAY, NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER.
The rooms need updating and smell a little musty BUT they are cleaned each day and staff are very welcoming and friendly. Kids club and pool activities were spot on and the nanny service is awesome. Plenty of things to do at the resort and a lot of day trip options available. We will definitely return to Fiji - will try another resort but not sure if anything could beat the location of the Shangri-La
We had fantastic time. Staff at the resort was very helpful and accommodating. Kids club has many good activities. Lagoon pool has great views. Food options are limited for vegetarians. Lunch/Dinner buffet can be a bit pricey.
Our Fiji to trip was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, I wouldnt have changed a thing. From the pick up from the airport to the time we flew home was incredible. The Shangri-la was more than I could have ever expected. I was SOOOO happy with the treatment we had, the boys at the gate, were awesome VERY SINGLE time we came through the gate with their welcoming "BULA" (even if it was at 2-4am in the morning). The front desk crew, who were always standing there with the biggest smiles and willing to assist with whatever it is we needed. The housekeeping service was awesome as they would keep our room looking sharp everyday and leave cute messages each night using leaves. The nanny service and the guys who would entertain the children down by the pool were exceptional, they were SO good with kids. All the crew who were serving at the bars/restaurants were always serving with a smile.
And so with all of this service and smiles and "Bula's" we had such an amazing time, would definitely recommend this place.
Great holiday destination for anyone
lovely place a little dated but still very nice and lovely beds, bar and check in staff were a little to casual but hey, its Fiji time. thanks for a great stay.
Nice resort for all a little out of the main towns but really you don't need to go any where as everything is provided. The Figian people are the friendliest people we have ever met.
Just returned from 10 nights at the Shangri-La and I'm missing all our Fiji friends already. Staff were fantastic with our children (ages 8 & 9) and kept them (and us) entertained with activities all day & night. Beautiful lagoon for swimming, kayaking & snorkelling. Great local restaurants. Eating and drinking in the resort is fairly expensive but once you're there and having fun you seem to forget about it. Try to stay near lagoon lawn if you have small kids. Other rooms are too far away.
We have just returned from a 10 night stay at the Shangri-La, with 3 children, 13, 11 and 5. It was brilliant, beautiful weather, beautiful people. The staff cannot do enough for you, they adored the kids and went out of their way to make sure they were always having fun. We were warned about the price of food, so we were prepared but we still found some things a little excessive. The resort would really benefit from a nice fresh sandwich bar or some more options for lighter meals.
Thanks for your valuable feedback. Unfortunately due to sourcing fresh produce the meals can be a little higher in Fiji. We are pleased to hear you loved the resort.
Went along with my three teenagers, will definately return.
We just arrived home from eight nights at the Shangri La Fijian and can't wait to return. Our family our four comfortably stayed in a Delux Ocean View room which has incredible views over the reef, and the breaking waves of the Pacific Ocean in the distance. Although there was a walk of about 5 - 7 mins to get to the Lagoon Pool and restaurants, we appreciated the manditory excercise given the amount of delicious food we were eating all day and night. The Little Chiefs Kids Club was really enjoyed my our boys (6 & 8), who loved the variety of activities on offer. The Chi Spa is a must for mums and dads! I would highly recommend this resort as the perfect place for a well earned family vacation!
food was expensive but facility was amazing
Loved the resort, loved the staff. The rooms and the resort in general were kept in immaculate condition. Would highly recommend and would definitely go back.
We had a lovely stay at The Shangri La , the resort is huge and lots of options for dining although they could do with some improvement , the prices are very overpriced and the quality of the food was not that great. the resort is lovely , The Chi Spa is just amazing and its just like another world when you go in for your massage! staff and grounds are lovely. We are used to smaller resorts that everyone knows each other and by your first name but this lacked that here I suppose because its so big but overall I would recommend the resort.
Great for teenage families. Plenty to keep them occupied. Would definitely stay here again. Can recommend the village tour and lunch to Sigatoka.
We returned for our 10 year wedding anniversary after being married here 10 years ago! It was made very special by having flowers and wine delivered and the service received for our special dinner.
Location of resort was stunning and lots of amenities and facilities for families including two superb family friendly pools, a wonderfully calm beach for swimming and playing in the sand and a fabulous kids club and playground. Day Spa was a lovely indulgence at the end of the stay and the treatment and treatment room was really special. Beach side massages also a lovely treat. Enjoyed the free water sports as well. Food was probably the major let down of the stay. Not enough choice around the pool. Did enjoy the theme dining including Polynesian dance show and BBQ nights. Food costs mid-Australian prices so budget accordingly for lunch, dinner, drinks and snacks. Not much outside resort but a few areas worth exploring like Sigatoka via the Coral Coast Railway, Kula Eco Park etc.
All in all an enjoyable, relaxing and warm break after a long cold winter in Melbourne!
Our stay at Shangri La was as we expected, as a family - 8 of us. Nice quiet superior ocean view rooms, was a big plus and we enjoyed the long walks to the central areas. Apart from windy weather every day, we had lovely fine sunny days, which enabled us to enjoy the pools and beach areas. Tennis and put put golf were enjoyed too.
We tried all the restaurants for dinner at night. Except for the Lagoon Restaurant buffet, the table service was dreadful. We would be seated at dinner opening hour of 6pm, and would wait up to 1 and a half hours after ordering, for our meals to arrive.
We ate at the Beach Bar & Grill one night only, and decided we would not go there again. We waited 1 hour and a half hours for delivery of meals. 7 out of the 8 in our group, did not receive the correct meals and steaks were either under cooked or over cooked. I would not recommend anyone to eat at this restaurant. It needs a shake-up.
The Fijian people were very friendly and helpful in all other areas of the resort. We would recommend the Shangri La resort to others.
We had the best time at Shangri-La they are all so friendly. My daughter is coeliac and the chefs were absolutely amazing. We will be returning.
Great spot the staff are friendly and Kids club has plenty of activities
We have just returned from our honeymoon. Its a very family orientated resort. Great facilities, amazing views of the ocean and lagoon. People were lovely, but the food and beverage service was very slow, the resort buildings are looking tired and will soon need some repairs. Room was lovely.
Resort is a no cash resort, so everything is booked to your room, which is really handy. But be careful there is a 3% surcharge on your final bill for using any card to pay.
The hotel is a bit tired and needs a lift, but the pools and beach are great - especially for children. We had a ground floor room, near the coral pool which was great. It was a bit of a walk to the main kids pool and little chiefs club - so it was quieter, more relaxing but still had a pool close by and grass area for kids to play outside.
The staff are fabulous! Service is a bit slow but once I relaxed into holiday mode it was fine. The staff are lovely, very welcoming and the nannies are wonderful and warm to the children. The little chiefs club is perfect.
The food at the hotel is average and basically Sydney prices. The Pizzas were good and a wide selection on the buffet. Takali (the Asian restarunt) was definitely the best (kids don't eat free though - good for an adults dinner). Cocktails - especially at happy hour! - were good.
Overall, a really good family holiday. It's not five star Shangrila - but perfect for a reasonably priced family holiday with good facilities.
We had a ball, the kids really loved the people. culture and everything about the resort. The resort staff were amazing, they were great with the kids and nothing was a problem for them. The food was wonderful but it was hard to find something really simple and inexpensive for the kids, especially with a fussy eater. The organised activities were brilliant, Mun did a great job, his tours and events were so much fun, he thought of everything, and made us all feel special. We got to experience so many things that our kids will remember for a lifetime, and gave them some real perspective on how others live. Our rooms were good, perfect location, ground floor, overlooking the pool and the lagoon, everything we needed was there. As a family we would go back and definitely recommend to any one with kids.
Very nice resort with plenty of things to do for everyone. Kids had a great time!
Everything was perfect from the Staff servicing the room (Maree) and around the resort to the postcard views everyday. Only reason I marked room down was a bit small for a family, we had one child but would be very crammed with two children and two adults. The room was in the perfect location overlooking the lagoon, so I was very impressed with that. Dining I marked down only because my daughter is gluten and dairy free which I found a little difficult. The resort and nearby restaurants did cater for gluten free but the lack of ingredients listed or Staff familiar with ingredients in the products was difficult to be 100% sure I was giving her food that was free from dairy as well as gluten. Staff at the restaurants were wonderful and the food that we had was really good quality. Buffet breakfast was really great with so many choices. Kids club staff were fantastic with my daughter and we really enjoyed the mini golf as a family. So many things to do the resort was excellent for a family.
Loved it .Friendly lovely pleasant people will return
The only problem was the internet we couldn't get it in our rooms. The resort was excellent we will go back there
Could not have asked for a more beautiful place to go on holidays. Resort staff are very friendly people and are great with Kids. Our 5 kids had a great holiday. The only down side food very over priced!
Beautiful spot on the Ocean, fantastic facilities. Great spot for families or singles.
Fijian staff were fantastic as a older couple we found it noisy with a lot of young children around
we didn't realise it had a no cash policy
Our second trip to this wonderful resort. Meals are good but do try Gekos across the road at night. Tomlus is a must for a not so pricy meal option. Just grab a cab. Remember sit back and enjoy fiji time at this resort take your time nothing is done in a hurry. Enjoy the culture and the people are amazing, make friends with the staff and they will make your stay extra special.
Can't rate it highly enough miss the people and the place already vinaka fiji
We had a wonderful time staying at the Shangri-La Fijian Resort and Spa. I would like to thank Mun who went out of his way to provide a very special experience for my family at the Marau Village night. It was my daughter's 6th birthday and he organised for the fire dancers and all the guests to sing her happy birthday and then presented her with a birthday cake. She was so surprised and said it was "the best birthday ever"!
Breakfast buffet and adult only sections fantastic - local seafood and beer good value - wine expensive and staff really are excellent. Coral wing needs a shuttle bus service and maybe some extra sound proofing of rooms but overall as good as our 1st visit 18 years ago.
Really enjoyed going to restaurant near adults only pool. Here every morning the freshly made omeletes and dinner headed by Litia were fantastic
Great for kids. Quite a drive from the airport
A very good location and hotel for anyone traveling with small children.
Had a fantastic time, staff were so friendly and the buffet was great. Had a trip to the waterfalls which was good. Stayed here for our wedding anniversary and booked a private Bure for the night it was all fantastic. Had a couple of treatments in the chi Spa and that was just wonderful and relaxing. Exellent holiday.
Expensive and food wasn't very good.
Friendly relaxing environment for a family holiday. Beautiful beach, pool & gardens. Lots of room to enjoy the sun or kick a ball. Lovely helpful curious staff. What more could you ask for!
Great family vacation. Just remember to have a little patience....."Fiji time".
This was our second stay at the Shangri-la. Our first was in 2012. There have been some improvements which we really liked. We stayed in early July for 10 nights in a Family Ocean View Room. Loved the location (room 440). Great position with stunning sunsets. The lawn area is perfect for children to play.
The rooms are dated but we found them to be clean and very functional for our family of five.
We dined at most restaurants. Gave the buffet lunch/dinner restaurant a miss through simply because we aren't fans of buffet dinners. We loved the fact that pizzas are now served pool side. A far better option than having to sit at a restaurant for lunch. Pizzas were also delivered through room service. The prices are up there, but if the funds go back into jobs for the locals, we are happy with that.
The kids club was great for all our kids aged 8, 7 and 7. The staff were friendly and most accommodating, offering to bring them back to our room when requested. The evening movie sessions were a hit with our kids.
One thing that was really disappointing about the resort was the fact that sunlounge booking is tolerated. We understand that hogging seats is a universal problem by inconsiderate hotel guests. Lounge seats were booked well before 8 am in the morning. There should be a policy of collecting random items left on seats. Not fair for guests attempting to do the right thing. One person had reserved 8 lounge seats for friends who had not even arrived at the resort!
We loved our stay and will recommend it to others, possibly not over the school holiday period through!!
We stayed for our honeymoon and it was great. Our room was secluded from the rest of the resort and very peaceful.
The bathroom especially could have been a lot cleaner, and the pillows were not good at all.
There was not enough staff to take food or drink orders at all restaurants and the staff were very unorganised
Great resort ...loved every minute of our stay here..cannot recommend it highly enough. Great for kids and adults.
Everyone was very friendly and went out of their way to make our holiday fantastic.
Lovely place, but the charges are insanely expensive for food. Food itself was good just felt very overpriced. Would be nice if you could hire watersport equipment for longer free of charge.
As a family with very young children, it would have been great if our room could have been closer to the restaurants and pool and beach area, it felt quite far away from everything, and walking with toddlers takes forever.
Some meals of the venue very ordinary and not good value for money.
Thank you so much for a fantastic holiday. We fell in love with the place and the people of Fiji. Vinaka
My wife and I stayed at the ShangriLa from 17/7 to 24/7 and had a very enjoyable time there. The general service was very good although housekeeping could improve - our room was not done until 3 pm on one occasion. Food at the restaurants was of a good standard but also overpriced. Breakfast was generally varied and I must commend the waiting staff as they were always ready to help. The resort is in a good location with a beach to swim in even at low tide - that's a serious bonus on the Coral Coast. The tours were also well organised. Overall, we will go back to that hotel as it represents good quality at a reasonable price.
My wife and I spent a week at this resort and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The all day swim was fantastic as at other resorts on the coral coast you can only swim at high tide. The food in the resort restaurants was quite expensive and not of great quality. The staff was always willing to assist and welcoming. Housekeeping could be improved at times. Generally though we would recommend this hotel to our family and friends. Cheers
Really loved the cleanliness and accessibility of Shangrila - it was a fantastic place to stay with beautiful facilities.
People were lovely and particularly loved Manu in the Buffet in the evening and Marley was absolutely amazing with my rugby boys.
Only down side was that it was extremely expensive for the restaurants if you ate outside of the buffet.
Didn't want to come home !! The people are just beautiful, and could not do enough for you. The food can be on the expensive side when paying for a family of 5.
Coming to the Shangri-la feels like coming home. The staff are warm and friendly. Beautiful sunsets. A great place for families. Take them to the disco for a dance and create lovely memories. Awesome breakfast buffet but expensive for other food...no cheap options. But will always recommend as so special.
We have stayed on Denarau island before but found the coral coast better because of the access and usability of the coast. Snorkeling straight from the beach and much better water activities. Gorgeous setting well set out and the staff were all so friendly, caring and helpful. We had a ball!
We had a lovely stay at the Shangri-la Fijian. It was friendly, there were many things for children to do and you could swim straight out from the beach (the corals were just about 100m) out. Compared to the resorts in Denarau Island, the beaches and the snorkeling were much better. The food were not cheap, but if you had kids, the kids eat free makes it more affordable. Overall, we had a great time, and we would definitely recommend it for families.
We obtained a bargain package to this resort. Advise upgrading to oceanview room as they are renovated and especially if you are traveling as a Couple. A lot quieter. Quite expensive to eat and drink as expected at 5 star resort. Overall we had a lovely relaxing time. Great adults only breakfast.
A very beautiful location with stress-free staff who are ever friendly and ever obliging. Whether it be adults only or an entire family, the Shangri La is perfect. Paradise :-)
Very child friendly awesome property. Staff are brilliant and we will be coming back with friends and family. Special mention of Mun, one of the staff, simply brilliant!!
Very friendly and helpful staff.
We had a great holiday and were very impressed with level of service and the overall condition of the property, thought around the pool areas could maybe do with a uplift but still very nice. Our room was great and a good size. Was clean and well fitted out.
Over all very pleased and would definitely return.
Can't wait to do it again it's great for all.
We spent an enjoyable week with our 2 kids (11 & 13 years old) in a lagoon view room. We all loved the resort, the staff were great and there was plenty to do, even on rainy days. Would definitely go back again.
Great Hotel, Lovely Staff
I really loved where this resort was located and that everything you may want was there at your finger tips. The beach and snorkelling were great as was the diving just 5 mins boat ride away. Kids enjoyed the kids club, but they liked the pool more. We found dining a little expensive, but I guess that's to be expected when your in the middle of no where. The Polynesian show was a bit of a let down.
This is the fourth time we have been to the Shangri la and enjoyed this holiday as much as the previous three. Compared to other staff in other Fijian resorts we have stayed in, the Shangri La staff would have to be the most genuine and friendly of all. The resort has a family feel about it which is not so obvious until you compare it to other resorts in Fiji.
This was really good and worth going to. The blemish is that the cost of drinks and excursions is higher than expected [i.e. at least as expensive as in Australia], and the golf course was interesting but poor value for money.
This is the second time we've chosen to stay here. The location is superb, the staff friendly and helpful and the resort has everything needed for a relaxing break. Food etc is a bit pricey which is the only downside, but minor really given the Fijian dollar exchange rate. We'll go back.
The staff are fantastic catering for families and kids. Great location and daily activities. Feel very relaxed returning home.
My only disappointment is the food and beverage prices have raised significantly since the last time we went there 4 years ago.
But overall a great place to stay.
loved the resort and the staff went out of their way to do anything for you. We appreciated them moving us from our room to upgraded accommodation when we complained about a problem guest that had kept us and the entire resort awake for 4 nights.
Great resort with plenty to do and lots of great dining, friendly staff and prompt service made for an enjoyable stay. Will be going back that's for sure..! :-)
Mun was very good organising day trip and fire dancing night
The resort was well looked after, everyone was friendly and helpful. A very relaxing holiday.
no further comments are needed
Nice place to just sit back and relax and soak up the sun. Kids loved the pool and snorkelling.
We just loved our Stay at Shangri-La Fijian Resort. There were 15 in our group celebrating my sisters 50th. Staff were so friendly and helpful, our lagoon view room was really handy to beach, pool, restaurants and activities. Housekeeping staff are really friendly and helpful and took the time to personalise our rooms each day. Loved the welcoming committee at the security gate with a big \"Bula\" each time we passed through and the activity staff, especially Äce, welcomed us into his family with a trip to Vanuca Village. Vinaka!!
Shangri la resort is very well looked after, the customer service is impeccable! Must go for a massage at the Chi Spa it's totally worth it. Dining options are many but food takes forever to come!
Has great buffet and 24 hour room service which is great! Overall we had a great time and highly recommend it to any families or couples.
Enjoyed our time and are going to take the family back there.
Wonderful holiday with three of our children & six grandchildren.
Loved the resort. Great for families. Everything in one place. Food was a bit expensive though.
Great service, friendly staff. A wonderful stress free holiday.
Could not fault the location(Coral Coast), very friendly staff. The people and their culture was a wonderful experience. Will certainly return to Fiji, especially to Shangri-La Fijian Resort & Spa.
Gluten free dietary requirements were taken care of.
Room was a bit dated but overall resort was beautiful & very kids friendly. Highly recommended for family.
This was our 4th stay at the Shangri la and it was wonderful as always.
We all loved the resort, staff were friendly and activties for the children were excellent. We will definately return again. Marley and Ace who run the kids entertainment are a huge asset to your resort.
This resort is ideal for everyone.
Families, couples, singles, young and old.
You can do as much or as little as you want.
Fiji at its best !
Overall we were very happy with the Resort and the Staff were great. Food was very good and with the Kids eat free program made the overall cost also good value.
Shangri la Fiji has the most amazing employees. Very friendly and always will to help with any need and make your holiday as enjoyable as possible.
Extremely friendly & accommodating staff, always smiling - even surprised us in our room with a birthday cake, guitars and singing for our son's birthday.
Location is great - calmer lagoon waters are perfect for kids swimming & snorkelling.
Amazing pools & manicured grounds. The gym was well-equiped.
Food and drinks were overpriced, but of high quality.
Family room was cosy with two older kids, but fine for the amount of time we were actually in it.
We were very impressed with this resort, and if returning to Fiji, would choose this as our accomodation.
This was our 7th stay at the Shangri La and we would love to make it 8 very soon xxxxx
I love the resort, very intimate and well set out. My room was located centrally, so everything was convenient. Food was a little bit expensive.
Very nice place, people are so friendly can't wait to go back
Lovely hotel, big rooms with good size bathrooms, balconies on all rooms and every room had a view of the lagoon. Great location; plenty of restaurants and choice; lagoon was beautiful and really good for swimming and snorkelling.
The resort and facilities at Shangri-La were excellent. The resort is spotless and the staff very friendly and accomodating every time. The pool areas, beach, gardens were extremely well maintained. The meals in the restaraunts were of high quality and reasonably priced. A little more variety would have been nice. The only negatives were the pricing for beverages (alcoholic, etc) and general activities that required a fee. Also, most bars/resteraunts closed a little early so there was not much on offer after 9pm. A better selection of TV channels would have been great for later in the evening. Most stations were US focused. As many visit from Australia, some more Aust news and sports would have been good. Would definitely stay there again and peacefull relaxation was terrific.
My partner and I stayed here for 8 days and I would have to say being our first time overseas I am so glad we chose the Shangri-La to stay at. The staff were extremely friendly, the room was very comfortable and cosy, there is so much to do in the resort we hardly had to leave. Its very relaxing and although there are quite a lot of families with children that didn’t seem to matter at all. There are a couple of adults only areas which are good if you just want to get away from the noise. The adults only pool area was great, we spent quite a lot of our time here and it has free access to Wi-Fi too. We also got the lunch and dinner included in our package which I would highly recommend, the food is great, the breakfast is all you can eat buffet with so much to choose from and lunch and dinner were great every time with so many restaurants. Overall the Shangri-La was an amazing place to stay whether it’s for a romantic holiday or a holiday with the kids I highly recommend this place.
there are enough activities to keep the whole family happy or enough space to do nothing if that is your chosen activity!
We had a great time with our three kids and parents. We shared two ground floor lagoon rooms for the stay. It was great to be able to stay and snorkel right at the resort. We found 7 nights was just about the right amount of time to experience what the resort had to offer. We had a few issues with our room but the staff were very helpful in moving to a new room and we were offered complimentary wine and dinner for the inconvenience. Tip: get out to the villages (via taxi or walk) to get some cheap beer and experience some dining outside the resort.
Everybody polite and friendly
Fantastic facilities, really suited to families. Great staff, always friendly and helpful. Thanks for a wonderful getaway.
We stayed at the Shangri-la Fijian for 7 days in a 2BR Beach Bure. The Bure was spacious, clean and beautiful. The view of the ocean from our back door was amazing. The Bure was private, away from the hustle and bustle of the resort, yet close enough to access the pools and restaurants with an easy walk. This resort has lots to do, from Kayaking, Banana Boat rides, Tennis and Bike Riding just to name a few. The resort grounds were always kept so clean. The staff always greeted us with a Bula and a smile. Plenty of restaurants to choose from and the food was great anywhere you ate. Book here with ease, the Shangri-la is a great place to stay!
Overall the experience was positive, with the resort offering all that you would expect from Shangri-la including the excellent service.
Accommodation & service was good, recommend this place to anyone.
Great resort for everyone. Plenty to do or equally comfortable to do nothing. Might be a bit different in the busiest season but at Christmas time it was well catered for the guests. Can't fault anything really. Meals expensive within the resort but located close to 2 other restaurants, a short walk to one or a quick taxi to the others. Did great Natadola tour. Staff very obliging. Would happily return there again.
Welcoming, friendly, musical.
This is very special with the whole island being a resort. There were so many beautiful sunsets and the gardens are just delightful. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
A wonderful experience the people are just so warm and grateful. We loved it.
A nice place to stay. The Fijian people are very friendly and helpfull.
A well appointed resort located in a relatively secluded location. The staff were friendly and great with kids who were always entertained whether it be sing alongs or face painting at breakfast.
Resort was great. Meals and dining / drink service a bit slow sometimes was our only complaint. We would go back again. People were beautiful.
Just wonderful :)
Family friendly and very relaxing. The locals are so very friendly and welcoming.
The staff were wonderful the nicest people I've ever meet you couldn't help but feel happy. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. It was such a great holiday that my 9 year old daughter had tears the night before we left as we farewelled some of the staff. Great family holiday you could do as much or as little as you wanted.
You leave this place to save up and travel back. It was 10yrs that we last stayed and our 10th wedding anniversary so we renewed our vowels in a ceremony on the beach. Our family members came to celebrate and holiday with us. Won't be 10 years till we are back again, hopefully in a couple of years.
The kids were happy as long as they were in the pool (amazing) or eating (they loved the buffet - adults found that if you stuck to the freshly prepared food it was better quality). Restaurants were fantastic and all the extra activities kept the kids entertained.
We all had a wonderful time - very relaxing, kids club was great for my younger kids (8 & 5 - 10 year old wasn't so keen on it). Highly recommended.
We loved our time at the Shangri La-the staff were amazing, nothing too much trouble, the pools and beach pristine and the location perfect for our 7 day stay in a lagoon view room. Thank you Shangri La-we will be back!
Nice place , nice people , they love kids , resort could use a few upgrades , TV and technology in need of upgrade but overall an enjoyable family holiday.
We had an absolute ball. The staff quickly became like friends. We can't wait to return.
Perfect place to relax enjoy water sports and take in the Fiji culture.
We have just returned from a 11 night stay at the Shangr-la Fijian Resort and Spa - WOW what can I say. The staff were sooo friendly and loved their jobs, the accomodation suited our needs with large rooms (we had a superior ocean view room located in the Golden Cowrie Wing) and a great location. We ate breakfast at the adults only breakfast which was in the Golden Cowrie Resturant each morning and this was located a 1-2 minute walk from our room. We ate lunch and dinner at various restaurants located at the resort including the Lagoon Terrace Resturant which had a buffet each night - and if you went hungry you weren't trying. We also ate at the Beach Bar and Grill and tried out room service. The resort offered many activities for all - from swimming, snorkling, walks etc etc. The tour desk onsite offered and assisted in any questions and bookings with regard to offsite tours - and were more than helpful. The location of the resort itself on the coral coast was ideal for any tours and tour pickups were not a problem. Will definitely visit the Shangri-la Fijian again in the future.
Had a fantastic time and enjoyed all that we did. Your staff were courteous and our room was more than adequate. Thank you and greetings to you all.
Very nice for families. Would reccommend.
Staff were all fantastic, particularly Ella and David.
We had a lovely time! It was the most relaxing holiday we have ever had. Fantastic for families!!
A beautiful resort with everything and more required for a relaxing time for couples and families. We could not be happier and recommend other take advatage of this hotel. Beautfil food, people and views.
Catered fully for my wife gluten free requirements.
Was gorgeous.. Lovely people lovely place.. The resort was a lil expensive but otherwise was great...
Good experience and friendly staff.
Very good with kids. Good variety in food and activities
Great service, great staff, great time.
Great beach, fabulous staff who made us feel welcome, lots of activities for the children and a choice of dining options.
We had a wonderful stay the setting was perfect the staff in all aspects were beautiful it was just what we needed. It's been our second stay there and I'm sure it won't be our last. Thank you for a perfect holiday. Regards
Wonderful place for kids with beach and pool and Kids' Club.
We absolutely loved our stay and dearly wish to return. We will always remember David, Eta and Zac, plus the wonderful men at the front boom gates!
This is a very family friendly holiday. The location is beautiful, the Fijian people so welcoming and friendly. Our kids loved the lagoon pool and kids club activities. We would like to say a special thanks to Chef Ganash who ensured that our daughter's gluten-free diet was catered for.
Having stayed at the Shangri-La in 2010 we knew what to expect and weren't disappointed. We were happy to return and again enjoyed a fantastic week. The people are so friendly and helpful, the food and location is amazing, the rooms are spacious, and we all got to relax. What else can you ask for?
Really enjoyed holiday would go back and recommend it to anyone with young family!
This was our first time at the resort and definitely not the last. The staff at the resort was so friendly, the service fantastic... Their children activities was a lot of fun, the kids loved the lagoon pool and kids club.
Awesome stay.
Really enjoyed our stay. Great location, friendly and helpful staff.
Lots to do either activities or total relax. Food & Drinks expensive highly recommend a meal deal to reduce costs.
Lots of water based activities, bikes to ride and explore, Chi Spa was divine, great variety of food.
A great place to eat, sleep and play with activities for all ages and a fantastic kids club. Will definitely return
Following a very busy six months, my wife and I needed a restful relaxing week with great weather, beaches, and food. This is exactly what we received in our week at the Shangri-La Fijian Resort & Spa.
A few parts of the resort could be improved, i.e. the beach at the Lagoon very unstable underfoot, and some of the pathways.
The staff are very friendly, but check-in is very slow. Meal plan could also be broken down to just a dinner option, instead of lunch and dinner. The choice of restaurants is great, and the adults only pool very relaxing. Well equipped gym, but quite a distance from many of the rooms. A very enjoyable stay.
Location, place, facilities, people, services were all exceptional. Apart from the cost of food which was a little pricey, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Will return to this place in future.
A good resort in a good location. Staff were genuinely friendly.
We love coming here to this huge well organised resort, so chilled and relaxed.. Just need to work out what works for your family and go from there.. There is something for everyone here. Dont come to this resort if tou want a quiet couples holiday i am aure there is a resort on Fiji that caters for your needs without all the families.. We love the relaxed family atmosphere... Resort going through a few changes at present so with time will only be better .. We will be back again! Never dissapointed.
Can not fault this resort - this is our 6th visit to the Shangri-La and have enjoyed every stay. Only approx. an hour from Nadi, close to Sigatoka. Staff are extremely helpful (my son got sick over night and they could not of been more helpful). Plenty to do - from snorkeling, to bike rides, golf and putt-putt. If your lucky enough to be there at the same time that there is a local rugby match in Sigatoka, make sure you go. The resort organises a bus to take you - best experience and so much fun.
Will definately go back and highly recommend for families.
Fiji is wonderful for families. We go back every year for a winter escape and love it. Such beautiful people.
Beautiful resort in a wonderful setting.
This was our second time staying at the resort. The staff are very welcoming and very helpful. Upon check in they discovered that we were returning guests and offered us private check in. I believe that if you are a returning guest you are well looked after.
The room was lovely and clean, everything is modern and tidy. Our view (from the reef wing) was fantastic and lovely to wake up and see first thing in the morning.
Dining was great! Especially enjoyed the Beach Bar & Grill but also took advantage of in room dining when we were tired from the day. The adults only breakfast dining area was beautiful as well and provided a great view and excellent service.
Facilities are great as well, we enjoyed a game of tennis, mini putt putt and a game of golf. The course is beautiful. Also enjoyed the use of the gym and had a lovely view of the reef from there.
Chi the spa was lovely and definitley worth paying a visit to.
If and when we decide to travel to Fiji again, the Shangri-La will be on our list.
The Shangri La was a great place to stay as a family. The staff were incredible and their love of kids was evident. From the cleaners (who arranged the kids teddies in all different positions - entertaining us upon our return to the room) to the serving staff, everyone was friendly. Our room was beautiful and our stay relaxing. Just what we wanted. Thank you.
Great place to stay. We will be recommending it to all our friends
My Family and I had a wonderful time - the staff are so friendly and helpful they are a credit to their culture. This is my second stay at the Fijian and it was just as I remembered - so happy I decided to go back with my children and my sisters family too. Relaxing and no pressure to do anything else than what you want to do. So much fun was had by all - weather was fantastic breaking up Melbourne's winter season. Will visit again.
A large inexpensive resort, lots of people around though. Room service and the cultural night were fantastic! Coffee is good.
Very nice place to holiday
A great place for a holiday for all.
We were married here along with 36 guests. None of our guests had visited fiji before. We all loved the Shangri-La, a lot of space to explore and variety of food, bars and pools.
We will definitely consider returning in the future.
Lovely stay here. Friendly staff great family holiday.
We had a truly wonderful relaxing family holiday. With 2 young children it was the perfect place. Weather was warm, plenty of things to do if we wanted to or just relax. Kids club was wonderful, Fijians are beautiful people very friendly and caring. We will definitely be going back.
Will defiantly go back again next year..a fabulous holiday
There are adults only areas, but overall the resort is better value for families rather than couples (I just went with my partner).
This was our first overseas family holiday. The Fijian people were very friendly and the hotel was really well maintained and managed. The views and room in the ocean wing was fantastic.
And it was very easy to do so. We had no need to go anywhere or do anything except play with the things like bikes and boats etc at the resort. Lovely people. Very calm.
Lots to do to keep the kids entertained which means the parents can relax too. A great holiday.
My daughter & I truely enjoyed the warm hospitality & the freindly faces through out our stay.
The room was average but our view made it spectacular!
The food was amazing! Loved it!
We will definately be coming back with more family & friends!
Having a Fiji nana made the holiday relaxing and enjoyable for the entire family. At only Fiji $7 hour parents can indulge in some quality couple time with kids in safe hands.
Great hotel with friendly staff, only thing that was disappointing was the towels at pool and in room were not available and one day we had to go to adult pool to get towels for our room.
Excellent dining options available and Chi spa was fantastic
Great resort & very relaxing holiday. Fijians are very friendly & kids well catered for. Will definitely go back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this resort. The Fijian staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to make our stay a pleasant and enjoyable one. Would recommend this resort to others. However, I do believe that the resort itself is becoming tired looking and in need of some repairs. Whilst our rooms were comfortable the furnishings were tired looking.
Great holiday, rooms were comfortable and close to all amenities. Food was a little on the expensive side, however the quality of the food was good. There could have been a little better lunch time options for the younger kids.
Pleasantly surprised!
You can either do as little as you like or as much as you like with all the activities available to you.
Food and the variety is great not to mention the views!!
No matter where you go on this resort there are water views and on a beautiful day the blue water is stunning!
There does seem to be an issue with towels though, both bath and beach. But this was so minor considering everything else.
Would definitely recommend.
Good holiday made great by so many of the staff.
Awesome location and resort, friendly staff with excellent service, plenty of activities for the kids (kids club).
Thank you Shangri la for a wonderful 12 nights. We stayed for 12 nights with another family, between us we had 5 kids. We were situated at the coral/infinity pool, which was fantastic. Our children had a wonderful time. The staff were so friendly and make us feel so welcome.
We loved the resort itself, very relaxing, lots to do, great spa, great beach, watersports, kids club was fantastic. BUT and this is a big but,. The food was extortionate. and not amazing. It was OK and we probably spent about the same amount on food as we did on accomms for the week. Big downer :(
We had a wonderful week at the Shangri-La. The resort was perfect for our group holiday with four families travelling. The staff were absolutely wonderful especially with the children. We loved the village and school visit. Our lagoon superior family rooms were ideally located on the ground floor and the lagoon lawn was a perfect area for the children to play when we weren't at the pool or the beach!
We found the resort staff to be very professional, friendly and gentle natured- they made our stay memorable. The grounds beaches ,and pool areas were sensational and the room comfortable.
A fabulous resort with beautiful people who are only too happy to help with anything. Stayed in a Lagoon View room, and the room was really good, much better than expected! Lots of food choices and we certainly didn't go hungry. Would definitely recommend this resort and will definitely go back!
We loved our stay at Fijian Resort Shangri- la. The Fijian staff were so giving, loving, helpful and thankful for our presence. The location is splendid. The buffet breakfast was exceptional and restaurant choices adequate. We hope to return.
The staff were just great. I had a great week, well worth the visit.
The food, service and activities are fantastic. Rooms are great, cleaned daily and enough space. The only down side I have are rooms are starting to get dated. If wanting to go anywhere it is a distance is via cab.
Our family of 6 just returned from a week at Shangri-La. Absolutely fantastic. Cant wait to go back. Plenty to do and see. Kids (aged 3-16) loved it too
The Shangri-la is absolutely amazing. We traveled with our two children aged 5 and 7 and loved it. The resort is beautiful and our room was stunning. Definitely recommend it to families as they have a kids pool, kids club, playgrounds and babysitting is also available. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Cannot fault anything about the Shangri-la. Just an amazing experience.
We stayed at the Shangri-la for 7 nights from 7-14 May 2014. We went over for a wedding. The people, place and overall experience was BEAUTIFUL. The staff at the resort were so lovely and were always there to help with all our needs. We have a 4 & 2 yrs old girls who also loved it. Our room was right behind the main pool so it was easy to walk (as it is a huge resort) to all the kids areas. The kids club was great for the kids as they organise lots of fun activities to keep them entertained. The restaurants were great and the food was so fresh. Already planning our next trip! We loved it so much.
We went on our Honeymoon and were truly in another world at the Shangri-La. As most people say, "It is the people who make it." And the lovely people at the Shangri-La did it for us.
Great place to enjoy easy no stress holiday as a couple. Appreciated up-grade to Ocean View room away from lagoon family-busy area. Breakfast buffet one of the best.
Excellent location with very friendly staff. A few issues with room allocation but eventually sorted out. Overall would definitely recommend as a great family vacation.
The Shangri-la is a beautiful resort set in a beautiful location. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The restaurants are quite expensive in my opinion however this is the only thing I can fault. Great holiday.
A great place to stay for a family holiday. We were a group of 20 with ages ranging from 5-69, we had an amazing holiday.
What a great place the bay is great for swimming and snorkelling
The Fijian staff are so nice made you feel so important
Would stay there again
I loved my stay at the Shangri La Fijian Resort and Spa... Staff are friendly and helpful... Would recommend this hotel to family and friends and would definitely stay again.
My husband and I stayed at the Shangri-La Fijian from 26 April to 2 May. It was our first visit to Fiji and we were so happy with the property and location. The staff were welcoming and the facilities were fantastic. They have a great kids club if you have children but have designtated 'Adults Only' breakfast and pool if you want a quieter time. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return, the only word of advice I'd give to potential travellers is to be aware that you'll be staying on an island, not particularly close to any town. The food and beverage prices are inflated at the hotel, though they still offer reasonably good value for money. There are a couple of restaurants nearby that the resort information centre will kindly book for you that are more affordable. I would highly recommend it to anyone considering a holiday on the Coral Coast.
Fiji was a perfect lil getaway. 7 days and there were still so many things we didnt get time to do. Whether its a honeymoon as a couple or with family and friends, you can either switch off n laze about or have a jam packed 2 weeks of different activities.
Just remember it is a majority poor nation, so be thoughtful and respectful for those of you who may end up visiting a village. The childrens faces always light up when they see new people.
Although there were many families there it was great to have the adults only pool and breakfast.
Nothing against children but these quiet areas were great
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Will go back soon. Lovely people, service was good and food was plenty. Great fun for the family.
Going again next year and taking my familiy
really enjoyed our stay was relaxing, and so many activities to do or just lay around enjoying the weather, hit the gym or the day spa. Best of everything access to babysitters or hang with the kids.
nice ,relaxing ,great value for money, kids loved it.
One of the best experience we have had.
The staff and service was first class, genuinely warm and kind people.
Will defintely be back soon.
Bula Vinaka!!!
Great Resort for families, and couples only, as has different areas for both. Plenty of choices of where to eat or drink, all with spectacular scenery. Overall, a great holiday destination.
Shangri La was great with loads going on. The staff were excellent and attentive although the food options for families were a bit limited and pricey.
The resort is great for families and couples although it does need to be renovated. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back.
Loved Shangri-La Fiji. Lovely staff, excellent service and very clean.
A pleasant relaxing stay with friendly staff
Perfect location, some facilities a little outdated but great food and service! Caters for both families and couples. Even though prices seem a little expensive for food drinks and activities, keep in mind (for Australians) it actually converts to a price equal to or lower than prices in Australia.
Great Family Holiday
Shangrila Fiji was fantastic, very relaxing and the Fijian people are so welcoming.
Be busy or do nothing, what ever you choose it's a good resort for families or a couple.
The Fijian people and their relaxing calming ways made the holiday an unforgettable one. The elderly and children were loved and well cared for. No request was considered too small. The rooms were cleaned daily with lovely flowers on the linen. The gardens and pools were immaculate. The food delicious. But the peolpe are the main ingredient of an exceptional stay. The entertainment fire walking, singing, cruising are a must. I will definetely want to return within the year, thank you to them, BULA regards Wendy Bayliss
Wow! they really look after us . Easy to slow down to that easy Fijian pace ,isn't that what a holiday break is for? The staff are so professional and friendly. I need that as some people say I can be a bit short and grumpy after the flight . Have been there seven times now ,that says more than I can put into words and we will return.
This was by far our best family vacation to date, the staff at the Shangri-La are amazing which made the holiday that much better. We will be going back.
Really enjoyed our family holiday, overall plenty to do , possibly some more lunch options for value for money would have been good, our little one had a great time in the pool and staff overall were excellent and welcoming.
We had an awesome experience from the time we arrived. This was our first trip to Fiji and it lived up to be all we expected and more! The fishing was awesome (thanks to Mango Bay charters) our 4hr charter was extended by 3 hrs and a lunch provided at no additional expense! We caught some real nice fish!! And got to enjoy the catch at the end of the day.
Everyone was so friendly, can't wait to return.
John and Debbie
We had a wonderful time and were very well looked after by the very friendly staff at the Shangri-La.
My family and I had a great time, this place is great when you just want to relax. The pool and coral sea is just beautiful. The food is a bit expensive but no different to Australian prices. You are not going to get fine dinning but you will still enjoy it.
My family loved the 10 days we spent there. The staff are more than willing to help you with any of your concerns. If you remember that when you are at the Shangri La Fiji, you are on Fiji time. You will have a great time. Keep an eye out for Ace.
My favourit place in Fiji. Bula Vinaka.
Thanks so much for making our family holiday experience one to remember. Booking with you was easy to do on line; the food catered for both adults, a teenager and a 5 yr old child and the accommodation / service was really comfortable. Finally, the Fijian staff at the Shangra-la were so friendly and welcoming. It was a beautiful location and the children had so much fun. THANK YOU! Cameron McKinnon and family.
This is our 5th visit to this resort, can not recommend it enough. Staff are all so friendly, very laid back, easy holiday. Can do as little or as much as you want. Best place to stay on the coral coast.
What an amazing resort, everybody was lovely and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again!
The staff in Golden Cowrie are just great. Thank you for your professional service and tasty food. We love you all!
Very friendly staff and lovely resort. Will definitely visit again!
Friendly staff, great food, beautiful resort. Relaxing holiday
We had an awesone time at the Shangri-La,,staff were amazing and couldnt fault anything at all.My 3 kids had the time of their lives and were lucky to make some new friends with kids from the resort as well as local kids.A holiday we will never forget and friendships that have formed has been amazing.Thank you Shangri-La for making our 1st trip overseas the best 7 days of our lives:)
Great facilities and very family friendly. If you adjust to \"Fiji time\" and are a patient person you'll enjoy your stay. Service is very friendly but also slow. Overall still a great place.
This was a great resort and very relaxing holiday, out 2 boys loved running in and out of the pool and playing on the beach. All the staff were very friendly.
The accomodation in the Lagoon View rooms is not brand new but is comfortable and most satisfactory. Everything else - position, service, staff friendliness and quality and range of eating venues, beautiful pool, white sandy beach and safe swimming lagoon - is first rate.
Food was amazing, really catered for everyone in the family. There were lots of activities to do in the resort, but we felt no pressure to be involved in anything. We stayed in a 'family' room which sleeps 5, and with the wonderful lawned area at the front, kids and dads enjoyed the impromptu afternoon cricket game. As we weren't there in 'holiday' season a couple of restaurants weren't open (but those that were didn't disappoint). The only negative comments I can possibly think of is that some of the advertised kids club activities didn't happen which my kids were disappointed about, and the rooms were spotless, even if they haven't heard of window cleaner. Would definitely recommend it again. Perfect, easy, family holiday
Lovely location and resort. it is very large and busy but there is a lot to do, plenty of eating choices and loads of kids!
Most enjoyable holiday
The resort is located on the coral coast , one hour or so from the airport. There's not much around it. If you want more "action" then denarau is the place to be.
The resort is amazing! Beautiful island, corals, snorkeling, beaches, restaurants pools etc....
But the best part? The people! So friendly, kind and helpful. The whole of Fiji is like that!
Loved it guys! Thank you so much, especially for Moses, Nate and the beautiful lady that serviced our room! :) I'll be back one day
Great place to stay and service was incredible and for children it is the best place on earth. The beach, water and marine life unbelievable. Fish trip from the resort was good, thank you Bax and Luke great yellow fin tuna to be caught. We did the Jet boat tour, unforgettable experience!!y My favourite spot at Shangri-La was the Bilo Bar at sunset.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Wonder massages and facials at spa.
I spent 10 nights at the Shangri La recently with friends on my first OS Trip from Australia. I was located in a Garden View room in the last block (room 355) therefore i had a lovely view of the pool, the grassy area and the ocean. Each afternoon i was treated to front row seats to watch Fiji V's Australia (or the world) in either Rugby League or Soccer or Water Polo courtesy of the Kids Club participants and the Fun Ambassadors. The staff were the friendliest I had ever met, their joy for life rubs off & eventually i ended up operating on "Fiji Time" finding happiness in every happening and laughter in every day. The resort was full of things to do for both adults & kids. the food was fantastic with many choices dependent on budget. I am going back next year and taking my 2 boys. I love the atmosphere & cant wait to revisit the Shangri La family. Ni Sa Bula!!!
First time in Fiji had a big surprise at the place we were staying all the facilities and the local people smiling and greeting us always with Bula.
Our whole family loved our holiday. We had a ground floor room that led out onto the grass and across from the lagoon pool. A king size bed for us and 2 divans for the kids. Our housekeeper Milika always went the extra mile and left little gifts behind for the girls and the youngest stuffed animals always found to be doing something fun when we got back to the room. Couldn't recommend the Shangri La more highly to anyone, stunning views and the friendliest of people on earth. Vinaka xxx
Anyone that complains about this property should look at themselves first. So many things to do, or nothing at all..... Great food, great service and a lifetime of memories
Would 100% recommend staying at the Shangri-La.
We had excellent service, we got upgraded upon our arrival and everything was with a smile. The Fijians are beautiful people. I though the resort was a little older than others, but the layout was lovely (we had garden view, which I thought was better than the ocean view as it was more windy that side) and they really did a lot for the kids there. Food was above average too, so we didn't have anything to complain about. I thought it was a fantastic resort for families, but with the choice of bars etc (although a few were closed for renovations while we were there) I thought it was great for everyone (NOTE: We stayed at the Intercontinental previously - beautiful but that is it).
Fantastic resort, very family friendly and a really great place to stay. Wonderful staff who make you feel very welcome.
We were a large group that traveled for my nephews wedding (22). Very clean, staff were very attentive couldn't do enough for you. Overall very good 1st Fiji experience. I would have liked to have an area where we could have sat around outside at night just catching up with each other rather than trying to fit in one room.
A well appointed room with a pleasant outlook, but if requiring a quiet stay, request a room away from
children's playground and ball game area.
A taste of Fiji with comfort. We had a room in the Lagoon rooms (room 306) on the top floor (3 floors) there is no lifts so the steps keep you fit but its worth it. The room was great for two, three at a push if you have a small child. Food was really good especially the buffet breakfast. All the meals we had wer great and of a good standard (approx meal cost is F$35 to F$45pp), if you can go all inclusive would recomend it if you eat and drink alot. There is loads of activities if you want to take part especially around the children/family pool which is of a good size, the snoklling is free and loads of fish to see if you swim out abit, the water is really clear and warm. We spent a good amount of time around the Adult Only pool which was lovely and also in the Adults only breakfast which was much quieter if that is what you are looking for. The resort caters for all and there was loads of weddings going on. We had a great time and the staff were all friendly, happy and helpful. The room service was good and the food also on a par with the evrything else so if you wanted to stay in and eat it wouldn't cost you extra. Would we go back or recommend....YES we would, good value for the cost. Be aware of day trips..exspensive. Cost of local bus to Sigatoka town F$1.60, Taxi F$14/F$15 one way.
The Shangri La on Fijis Coral Coast is absolutely gorgeous. It's hard not to love it. The staff are definitely a big part of the overall experience, nothing was a problem for them.
I wasn't travelling with children so having the adults only breakfast and pool was fantastic..no kids running around and making noise. Made it easy to relax and enjoy paradise.
The resort definitely caters for families, so many activities for the kids.
The chi spa is a must...yes it's pricey but definitely worth the money..best massage and facial I've ever had..the setting of the spa is amazing.
All in all I can't fault this resort and recommend that if you are thinking of travelling to Fiji the Shangri La is a must!!
Loved it.
It has beautiful beach, aenthusiastic staff and a lot of activities prepared for kids.
If you are looking for a great spot to relax, with plenty for the kids to do then this is a great choice.
this was our third year to Shangri La and again we were not disappointed. The staff and grounds make this place and the new head chef has taken the menus to a higher level. Always happy and will likely go again.
We came to escape cold wintry Melbourne and to do some diving. Reef Safari at Shangri-La's Fijian was EXCELLENT, professional, accomodating and very friendly. Diving was fantastic. As for the hotel in general, room was comfortable and food was fine. Especially enjoyed the 'adults only' breakfast in the Golden Cowrie - much more comfortable than the 'all-in family buffet'.
Beautiful resort and great customer service!
Just come back from an 8 night stay at the Shangri-La. What an outstanding place. Everything we could have hoped for and more. Staff and amenties/activities are first class. Highly recommended and Im sure you wont be disappointed.
Was our first stay there and certainly not our last.
We stayed 4 nights from 31 July - 4 August in ocean deluxe room. The beach and location was spectacular, and the staff were fantastic. The food wasn't anything to rave about but location meant we were close to other outside eateries. The kids club was excellent & we loved the children's playground. Well worth the stay.
Everything was so great, the only thing that I would do differently in future visits is request a room away from the Black Marlin & Beach Bar & Grill, as it was a bit noisy with other guests going in & out of their rooms at night
Beautiful resort, friendly staff, great dive team
Very happy with Shangri-La very helpful and friendly staff and food was reasonably priced.
best holiday ever people very friendly and always smiling great restrants with terrific food going back next year for 2 weeks
The Shangri-la is a great resort for families. It's only four stars so expect amenities to be a little faded. However, we found the service to be efficient and friendly and loved the size of the property as there were lots of areas to explore. We stayed in an executive suite which worked well for our family of 2 adults and 2 children. We needed extra attention due to our toddler getting ill and the staff went out of their way to help us and were very caring. We had access to the resort doctor very quickly. It was a super chilled and relaxing holiday.
Great resort for kids To swim as both the beach and pools are very clean. Our room was not ocean view room but we still see the ocean and the pools. Liked the room we stayed in
overall I enjoyed the stay at Shangrila. the resort is we set out so that you can do your own thing. I think I went to/past reception only once. if you are into golf there is a golf course and is close to
sigatoka if u have a car. The food was good esp breakfast. this resort is well setup for families with children.
Our stay at the Shangri-Lan was excellent. The staff were superb and we couldn't ask for more. The resort was excellent value for money and was beautifully maintained. The rooms were adequate but I would recommend an executive suite so you are separated from the children in the evenings. Overall our stay was great and I would recommend the resort for families as the children are exceptionally catered for. The nannies were around $7-8 per hr and were outstanding!
We both had a fantastic relaxing time. It was just what we wanted. The friendly, happy, helpful staff made the stay at the resort just perfect. Food, drinks, service, clean and green what more could you ask for!
We really enjoyed our stay at Shangri La. After spending 4 nights at Musket Cove and then coming to Shangri La we found it to be more touristy and commercial. It was just a totally difference experience to Musket Cove and we liked it for different reasons. Loved meeting Alfred and Mary at the grass skirt making.
Whilst the resort is undergoing some renovation it did not impact on our stay and all the staff go that extra step to make your visit an absolute pleasure. This is the third time at this resort and will not be the last.
Had a fantastic 5 night stay in Fiju (Sun 16/6-Thu 20/6). was good location, very friendly staff, quite expensive though, food could be better. but was well worth it, recommended
We loved being able to go snorkelling straight off the beach. Lovely Fijian staff, great restaurants & bars. CHI spa was fabulous - like being in another world. Overall, a wonderful stay.
Perfect holiday from start to finish the service was fantastic and the staff so friendly and helpful we can't wait to go back
Wow what can we say....... The Resort is nothing short of amazing!!!
The super-friendly staff accompanied by the amazing location make this resort a must stay!
We can't wait to go back.
It has everything you could possibly need on a holiday.
Stayed for 6 nights with a 16 month old infant. Had an absolute ball, so much for the kids to do, pools, kids club, baby sitters etc. Also plenty for adults when kids asleep, pools, gym, golf course, massage, bars, dining etc.
People very, very, very friendly. Daughter's feet barely touched the ground with all the Fijian women taken by her, getting picked up and kissed and nearly fought over who could cuddle her next.
Can't wait to go back again soon.
very friendly people
we just love the fijian resort.
this time we stayed in a family room, it was fantastic, we had a king bed and the kids had seperate devans. large room great bathroom , shower toilet. very upto date. with the new head chef they have improved the quality of the food. with a huge selection of seafood, pastas, indian & fijian as well as the nights theme. deserts to die for including nz ice cream.
we will always come back.
I loved my time at the Shangri-La and didnt want to leave. The staff will spoil you to the point where you forget you have to go back to the real world. If you want to relax, its the place to be...!
Had a great time - will return
Has a fantastic time away on our honeymoon would return again .
We really loved the resort and the fijian employees thought the cost of meals was a little on the expensive side however the water sports and poolside activities for the kids was great. The beach and grounds of the resort were amazing what a lovely place for a holiday
We had a great time at Shangri-la. accommodation needs some renovations, but other then that, excellent.
We had the best time at the Shangrila. Plenty of activities to keep the kids amused very friendly staff, do as much as you want or as little as you want. Rooms were clean, food was good. Loved our stay and will definately go back.
Our family had a wonderfully relaxing 10 nights at the Shangri-La - Highly recommended.
We enjoyed our stay although our room was in the older section of the resort so there were small issues like air conditioning dripping on the floor causing a slip hazard. No exhaust fans in the bathroom so mould a problem and the lock on the balcony door was useless. Also the bikes for hire were in need of repairs. On a positive side the king size bed was very comfortable and the room was cleaned very well by friendly, efficient staff who where always willing to please. We enjoyed the Adults only areas such as the Takali pool and Golden Cowrie Restaurant for breakfast without the kids. We were there for a family wedding and management was able to satisfy all requests. I would only give it a 4 star rating as I thought it needed to update some areas for the price that it charges.
We liked Shangri La mostly as it had a great layout with lots of places you can go to. I think it needs bit of TLC as complex we were in had a tarp over roof which looked like had been there awhile. Thankfully we werent on top floor as it rained quite a bit.. our room was lovely though.. the games room was a bit run down with the arcade machines not working too well but apart from that we had a pleasant time and loooved the buffet breakfasts!! The ocean views were nice to wake up to as well
This was our second stay back at the Shangri La, they gave us a room right next to our old room as we loved that area of the resort. Our Babysitter Salote was great. Food was delicious and everyone was friendly with a cheerful BULA to greet you. Makeish from the Sigatoka Safari booking office made our day trip really special, by arranging our family to have our own private boat as our 5 year old was a bit hesitant to jump on board, but he LOVED it, I recommend doing the Sigatoka Safari Tour.
had a great time the staff were lovely very helpfulll will return again love it thankyou
Enjoyed every single bit of the resort and its facilities. Definitely we will be recommending it to our friends
Top quality hotel, excellent food, friendly staff
I took my 4 children under 7 on my own as hubby was busy at work. It was fantastic. The kids loved kids club, buffet dining, lagoon pool, kayaking and the myriad of other activities on offer. I got a nanny for $7 per hour for my 2 little ones which wascalso great. We got the food package but be prepared to spend more. Although the kids ate free at the Takali restaurant, the buffet for the adult was $70 which was the full allowance. So any drinks were on top. E.g Jug of lemonade- $15, can of coke- $6, spirits-$13, cocktails-$25. It quickly adds up. As long as you are aware, this place is fantastic for a family. It is so big so if they put all the couples at the Ocean view rooms and the families at the lagoon view rooms, everyone would be happy. Unfortunately the whole lagoon view wing was closed due to air conditioning problems while we were their so we had a big walk to the lagoon pool and kids club area where all the action was. Cant wait to return next year.
Fantastic holiday
Just take your own snorkel gear
Make a point of going to the villages
We stayed with our 3 kids. Had a wonderful time. The resort offers you everything so we did not have to travel anywhere else. The Fijians were amazing, everyone was so lovely and have very fond memories of them and the resort - would go back again.
We loved it. Had an awesome time
Many great food choices
Three swimmimg pools, nice beach
Snorkelling was good, coral close to shore in places
Excellent staff
An excellent location not too far from Nadi, and close to Sigatoka so we can escape the resort for a few hours if we want to. facilities very good, the dive shop staff are first-rate.
The buffet food is only average, we also had to wait for over an hour for a la carte meal in the Golden Cowrie one evening. The Kalevu restaurant is very good.
Overall I doubt we could have done any better at anywhere near the price - would go back tomorrow if I was allowed!
Relaxing and refreshing
The Shangri-La is showing some signs of ageing. It is currently being refurbished so this may improve once the repairs are completed. The Buffet lunches and Dinners were of average quality. We attended the banquet at the Merau Village - the show was fantastic but the organisation was terrible, our seating allocation was changed 3 times, after lining up to get our meals and returning to our allotted table only to find other guests had taken our place (and we noted this happened to many others)
Food and dining service were not as good as our stay three years ago, often not enough service staff in dining room, sometimes a little belligerent if we requested a different table to the one offered.Pools were great, Staff at pool excellent, but sometimes no towels for long periods. There were lots of little things that would be easily fixed if they wanted.
We had a fantastic holiday & the staff were very friendly & helpful. We all enjoyed the resort facilities & we would love to return back. My son Justin in particular loved the resort & enjoyed all the activities of the resort and was very popular among all the staff.
The kids were very well looked after. There were plenty of activities to occupy both adults and kids. A really nice family atmosphere. Only negative is that we're not in favour of the whole family sleeping in the one room and too pricey to get a bure or adjoining rooms.
We really enjoyed our time at this resort. The room was clean and failry spacious and we were lucky enough to have a ground floor room backing onto large grassy area which was great for the kids. The pools were very nice and the beach is nice for swimming which is a bonus. We used the kids club and babysitting here and both were good. I would recommend for families. We found the staff friendly and reasonably helpful.
no comment
The Fijian might not be the kind of glossy resort found on Denaru island or up the road at the Intercontinental but this is the only resort in the world we have returned to 11 times and will keep going back to. If you want the true Fijian experience go there - yes it all happens on Fiji time but when it happens you are cared for like family.
Fijian people very friendly. Resort beautiful.
just come back from 6 nights and the whole family had nothing but praise for the resort and all staff nothing was too much trouble to do and the kids loved playing with the fijian staff. food was more than acceptable
Love the Fijian resort, love the Fijian people we met, love the beauty of the Island.
Although we had a short stay at Shangri-la, Fiji, we had an amazing time meeting all the people working at the resort and having a great buffet breakfast. We got to see around the resort and it was kept clean and nice.
We found the shangri-la to be a great place to stay and have recommended it to friends already the staff where very friendly which made our holiday very enjoyable we are planning to go back
Good atmosphere and very happy people there can't really complain. It was a lovely experience though the transfer from the airport we had to wait for an hour and a half before being picked up it was really frustrating otherwise the resort was excellent and the staff really helpful, cheerful, friendly indeed.
We stayed 4 nights at the Fijian Shangri-la and on the final night at Hilton in Denarau (so that we're closer to the airport for our early flight the next day..the Fijian is about 1.5 hrs from Nadi). While in Shangri-la we rented a car and drove up to where Warwick hotel is. We also took a day cruise visiting South Sea Island and cruising pass some other Mamanuca Islands (i.e. Beachcomber, Treasure Island, Mana, Castaway and Malolo). From what we've seen, we're very glad that we chose the Fijian - it's got everything: a very nice beach (I think one of the nicest on the main island), a comfortable and clean room, good selection of breakfast buffet (compared to Hilton which we had paid more!) friendly staff, to name a few. It's very family friendly too with lots of activities done for the whole family to enjoy e.g. soccer, pool 'basketball' etc).
There are also the other side of the hotel near its chapel and its wonderful (albeit expensive, as expected) Chi Spa which are quiter and would suit couples and honeymooners. That's the area where the honeymoon bures are too. There's also adults only pool and plenty of restaurants to choose from.
Overall, we're definitely satisfied and enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend this resort!
Staff were lovely and my kids loved it, but all Fijians are lovely, friendly people and kids will enjoy it wherever you take them on holiday.
For me the hotel lacked free activities or didn't have an efficient system for guests to know what activities were going on.
Entertainment also lacked... last time I stayed at Sofitel and loved how every night they had a dramatic fire lighting ceremony, also weekly free shows. Shangri-La only had a weekly fire lighting ceremony.
If your single with kids and you're hoping to utilize the babysitting service and have a night out for your self... Your options are to sit in the empty hotel bar for a lonely drink or go into the small town (Sigatoka 20mins) and have a few drinks with locals.
A hotel closer to Nadi would be more suitable if you like to schedule a party night out.
I was impressed by the individual attention to ensuring our time in Fiji was perfect. This started at the airport where we were greeted personally and transferred in comfort to the resort. The staff were at all times friendly and efficient. It was a perfect place to stay. I would recommend the Lagoon wing for families and the ocean side for couples.
The Staff at the Shangri-La make you fell part of the family being our fifth trip to the resort. You can have as much or as little to do as you want. Highly recommended.
All the activity and meals are very expansive compare to the way of living in fiji.(dinner Buffet $65/personn)
The average wage of a fijien is about fjd$150 a week around aud$85. unfortunatly all the money is going to the resort and the people don't get paid much more.
Very pleasant stay. Resort was in good condition despite only 2 weeks since cyclone.Nice room, friendly staff and pretty good food. Some parts of the resort need \"proper\" updating instead of the patch up jobs that they keep doing but its still really nice. However plans for a 5 storey \"upgrade\" are being discussed which will be a major negative.
We would have liked more information on Fiji in the room. Information on ways to explore the island, shopping trips to Suva,Nadi or small towns, and ways to get personal tours of the islands. We found that once we knew how to do this, we had an amazing time in Fiji. The staff, were amazing, friendly and very helpful.
Exceleent facilities for families
couldn't have been in a better place when cyclone hit. room are very strong and staff well prepared. fortunitely the cyclone came on our last day before that weather perfect.and i cannot say enough about the resort staff very friendly and helpful in all ways. the best place in Fiji i am sure
Fantastic!
The resort was beautifully located and we had a great time. We did visit other resorts in Fiji but Shangri-la stands out. The thing that bothered me was there was no wifi in the room and the TV is small. I will recommend the hotel to everyone looking to spend there time in Fiji just to relax in the resort.
We spent 5 days at the resort and were very happy overall. It was relaxed, the staff were friendly and obliging and the room clean. We loved the combination of the family atmosphere and the adults only areas. The prices were a bit high, but we still enjoyed the experience.
The location of this resort is brilliant, and with a young family there is a lot to do with the pool & beach & kayaks etc. The executive suite suited our needs really well as we had a sepaerate bedroom for day time sleeps. However I feel you are trapped into paying for overpriced and under serviced dinners, snacks (when you can find them) and massages etc. If the costs were halved I wouldn't mind, but I had an 'amateur hour' facial for the price of a high quality expensive one in Aus$.
We had a brilliant time at the resort and found it catered for all markets. Any activity we wanted to do was easily available, or organised and the customer service was above excellent. would definitely stay here again.
Great location and best service! Everybody is so friendly!
Highly recommend this resort. Amazing location relatively close to airport, which made travelling with an infant very manageable. Wonderful service from truly beautiful people.
Have stayed in resorts in Caribean and Mediterannian which have been 'all inclusive' which have been better value and food quality outstanding. In comparison, Shangri-la Fijian was overpriced for food and beverage and quality was overall average and on some occasions poor. 'all inclusive' food and beverage packages would be exactly that, all inclusive.
We went to the shangrila for a wedding which was amazing. While we were there my niece got very sick and had to spend 5 days in hospital, the staff from the shangrila were great there was someone with them the whole time taking them food, bedding and just being with them 24/7 to support them! (I can't imagine anywhere else doing this, especially in Australia) everyday the staff would ask us how the baby was they genuinely cared about her well being knowing the hospital conditions are far from what we are used to. Staff are so happy and friendly, how I don't know when they work such long hours and get paid so little!!!
Members of the Bilo Club and have been going back for 31yrs. that has to say something. You get the Fijian atmosphere not just another fancy hotel.
This was a fantastic resort, catering for everybody. Fantastic snorkelling, great food, great ocean views. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Very happy.
Wonderful holiday! Perfect position. Great resort. Fijian People make you feel so welcome. They are so sincere in all aspects of their service at all times.
I think the shangrila has seen better days!!! Needs an upgrade. Had nice dining areas and views but actual food left a lot to be desired in quality as well as pricing. The food in the room service was far better and larger range to choose from as well! The lagoon restaurant buffet was overpriced! The spa treatments were totally overpriced for anyone's standards. Rested well on the beach, but would not go back again.
This Resort is all that I love about Fiji.
Great people, Great location and a place to forget the worries of the world.
Fantastic!
An amazing resort, great facilities, and the staff are so friendly; nothing is too much trouble.
Our family had a very relaxing time. So friendly.
Perfect swim weather. Highly recommend jetboat safari
Bit over the buffet after 10 days
The only feedback I would suggest for improvement is to have activities for Older kids in kids club (8-12) everything was oriented around very young preschool aged kids
This was my first trip away with my partner and his first time ever anywhere and we both had a ball!
The service was out of this wrold, we were made to feel very welcome to the point where we had befriended a few of the workers on a personal level.
We stayed in the ocean view room, which was perfect as we were away form the main hub/children which allowed us to enjoy eachothers company.
Plenty of things available at the resort which made our stay even more as we did not need to leave.
Perfect in our eyes!
