Bali holidays typically begin by flying into the Denpasar International Airport in the island's south. Flights to Bali take anywhere from 3 to 7 hours from Australia and are serviced by a number of trusted airlines. Airfares with Jetstar and Virgin Australia include all taxes and a 20kg checked baggage allowance per person. There are a number of ground transport options available at the airport to transit to your hotel including pre-arranged transfers, which we highly recommend, as well as shuttle services and taxis.
Virgin Australia, Jetstar and Garuda Indonesia, operate direct flights from Australia's major cities to Denpasar. Flights departing Brisbane and Melbourne take approximately 6 hours, Sydney departures take around 6.5 hours and flights out of Perth take just under 4 hours. Batik Air and Qantas also offer flights to Bali.
Virgin Australia: Direct flights are available from Brisbane, Sydney & Melbourne with connection from all other major cities available.
Jetstar: Direct flights are available from Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Melbourne, Townsville & Perth.
Garuda Indonesia: Direct flights depart Sydney, Melbourne and Perth with connections available from other major cities.
Shuttle transfers and taxis are available from the airport, however this can be an overwhelming experience for first time visitors as many excited drivers wait outside the terminal doors to try and win your fare. We recommend pre-arranging your transfers as part of your holiday package to avoid this controlled chaos and any potential mishaps. Getting around Bali is easy and transfers to iconic holiday hotspots are just a short drive away. Kuta, Legian or Seminyak resorts take just 10-20 minutes to reach from the airport while Jimbaran Bay accommodation is just 15 minutes' drive and Nusa Dua hotels are 20 minutes by car.
