We totally enjoyed our stay, it was beautiful and clean and so quiet. The no kids policy is what won it for us.
It is perfectly located, we were in walking distance to everything you could possibly want.
Wow! Wonderful long weekend away with my daughter celebrating her 30th birthday post Covid. Our pool deck 1 br apartment was perfect and we could not find one thing lacking. A short stroll to the beach, marina or any of the magnificent restaurants. With childcare backgrounds, we so appreciated an over 18 resort with no children. We ran out of time to go to the onsite spa but it looked equally stunning. Highly recommend. I would even say ideal for individuals. I'd hang out here by myself for a while!
We found the resort lovely
Liz on reception is so friendly & helpful
We upgraded to the pool access room & found it perfect for our needs
Studio Room on the small side but had all we needed
We self catered most nights as restaurants in the area are quite expensive
Wonderful relaxing & quiet stay
This was the second time we have stayed at this property and I love it.
I only wish I had booked the 1 bedroom pool deck apartment and the studio room was a little cramped, but I would still highly recommend staying here. Bonus,no kids
Great place I'm going again
The hotel was clean, but standard for such resorts. Maybe, the two pools are the only unusual features worth mentioning. There is no dining in the resort.
Ten minute stroll to central Port Douglas. We liked the service and food at Sassi's Cucina on Macrossan, and the great snacks and coffees at Grant Street
Kitchen, top Grant Street.
The resort is in a great location. Minutes to shops and cafes. The rooms are lovely and spacious. The two pools are amazing and very clean. Staff were always helpful and attentive.
Had a clean room with nice view of the hillside and pool area, nice small balcony for coffee in the mornings easy walking distance to shops and everywhere else beach or marina and most of all it was quiet. Highly recommend Shantara as a place to stay.
The weather was amazing the tours were good value and the scenery awesome will defiantly be going back when i can.
Beautifully appointed one bedroom pool view. Clean and close to the fabulous restaurants and bars in central Port Douglas. Receptionist bent over backwards to assist with anything we needed including storing our luggage and giving us pool and shower access on our last day after we checked out. We will be back!
On arrival the lady at the counter was very friendly and helpful, the room was a bit small but contained everything we needed and everything worked as it should and upon checkout we were allowed to use their amenities and leave our bags somewhere safe. Very happy with Shantara and would stay there again.
Great place for couples to stay, good facilities and close to the shops and restaurants. Although the pool was a little cold.
5 minute walk to Main Street for shopping and restaurants
/cafes. 10 minute walk to Marina or beach. No kids is a bonus so was a quiet and relaxing stay.
Could not fault this beautiful resort from the very warm and friendly welcome to excellent room with all you need and very comfortable bed. Excellent resort facilities very peaceful and very well kept and clean. Will definitely be a return customer
A lovely and quiet resort, the only disappointing thing was that the resort had no restaurant and the pool deck room we stayed in had a kitchenette with a toast and all the coffee/tea facilities, but would be great if they supplied an electric fry plan at least to cook eggs/bacon for breakfast seeing as they have a toaster. Also, lucky for us that we had nobody stay in the room next door otherwise we would've had to share our decking and deck chairs (even though we paid extra for a swim out pool room) which would have been extremely cramped seeing as the deck is not big. A restaurant on site would be great.
Close to restaurants and shopping district.
5 nights at Shantara was the perfect way to relax. Being an adults only property it was very peaceful 24/7. We stayed in their premier apartment which was so roomy and the balcony straight off the pool was very special. Shantara has everything we needed and the location was superb. We walked everywhere. The beach was 5 minutes walk away so it was also nice to swim in the ocean and the pool. The service was amazing. We can't wait to go back there.
The room is very tidy but a bit small
We loved our 1 bedroom unit with a deck straight to the pool. The unit was fully self contained. We had loads of room, everything was very clean and in great condition.
We will definitely return for another holiday.
Great position, a short walk to restaurants, supermarket, bottle shop and the beach.
Very clean and well designed, great having an apartment, reception was helpful.
From the time we arrived to the time we departed we had a wonderful experience. Staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds were quiet. Facilities were excellent. Recommend to adults.
Very good location and resort
Although the weather was terrible, our accomodation was great. Rooms extra clean, location perfect and staff, particularly Liz in reception, were very helpful and respectful.
Excellent location, great service and good value for money. Highly recommend Shantara.
The staff are helpful and the location is very central. It was great to walk to the little village and also 4 mile beach which is a short walk.
Would definitely stay there again. We spoke with a couple who had the villa and showed us inside - that was very nice indeed.
Pool area is also very pleasant, but the downside is it could also get very busy and not too many chairs.
Great location, close to shops & beach. Room was clean & comfortable. Lady in reception was friendly.
Perfect accomodation for a relaxing holiday , we had an apartment with pool access , so close to main shops and Restaurants ! Loved having our own pool deck could swim when we pleased ! Amazing place will be back !!
Only stayed for 4 nights, but wished we stayed for longer. Great place to chillax without the kids. Lovely staff - would have certainly used a swimming jet if there was one - but the pools were great.
good location. friendly service
clean. quiet
Adults only resort a great idea for a stress free holiday
We love the friendly staff and they where very helpful with booking your trips a great room we hope to back soon
I could not fault the Shantara Resort. It was so peaceful, in a perfect location, 2 blocks to the main street or beach. The staff were lovely. The apartment was great, very comfortable and fitted out with everything you could need. We didn't cook during our stay, preferring to experience the local eatery's. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Loved it.
A most relaxing and luxurious resort. Private courtyard with my Jacuzzi. Private pool deck into the pool.
Short walk to anywhere in town with the best of Port Douglas at your feet.
The staff at the desk could not have been any more helpful.
Thank you Shantara.
Rooms are small but well-designed to make the most of available space. Rooms were well-appointed and balconies nice. Pools are lovely. Staff are very considerate and helpful with small and large questions. Easy walk to town. As summer was winding down, many shops and restaurants were closed or had limited hours.
We were disappointed to be unable to secure a pool deck room. This became more of a disappointment when we were told access to the pool (on our side of the complex) was via a back path overgrown with plants. We felt like the hired help coming through the service entrance. It was wet season and no shelter is available in that area of the pool side...wet towels! As the pool is the focal point of the complex it was disappointing to have access restricted. The other pool was easier to access but not as quiet due to the bbq facilities being there. Its a small gripe I know but otherwise, the Shantara is the best!!! Next time we'll get a pool deck room:)
This resort was amazing. It completely exceeded out expectations. This resort gave us the great relaxing honeymoon we always wanted. It is only a 5 mins walk from town and the reception staff are so helpful on booking tours and for anything we needed. We will definitely be returning to this amazing resort.
Great time. Wonderful accommodation
This is a good resort for couples and is conveniently close to the centre of Port Douglas. The reception staff were very helpful. Our only comment would be that it would be good to provide larger better quality pool towels.
We stayed there for our 30th wedding anniversary in January.
From the moment we arrived the staff were extraordinary, very helpful...interested in us and efficient.
The apartment was lovely, very clean and the pool was gorgeous.
The location is excellent, and you can walk to everything.
Whilst there is no dining there, it is close to all the restaurants where all the service and food was excellent.
A special mention to Amanda who was very helpful the last day of our stay.
Would definitely recommend to family and friends.
Thank you
I stayed at the Shantara because it was easy walking distance to the main facilities in Port Douglas and because it had an on site day spa treatment rooms. Lovely accommodation and secure.
The cleanest resort ever stayed in a credit to management and staff.
Room was very clean, spacious and fresh, a great place to relax. Location was a stones throw from main street. Only downside as didn't get much sun on the balcony and not a lot of room around the pool which also only got limited sun. Overall were very happy though.
