We had a fabulous time ,relaxing by the pool or on the beach each day . The staffing team where amazing, with great food . We loved the layed back atmosphere of the people of Vanuatu- we would recommend anyone that needs a relaxing holiday from the kids and any stress.
What an amazing holiday. We were completely relaxed, the little huts were lovely. We were lucky to have breezes at night. The staff were warm and polite, nothing was too much trouble - it was the perfect holiday. As you step into the reception you're immediately overlooking the pool and the beach. The food was wonderful, we met the Italian chef and his lovely wife who also works there. Cocktail hour every night was great and you get to meet all the wonderful travellers and hear their stories. We went on the New Hope tour which was great value, Blue Lagoon, swimming with turtles at Avi Bay and seeing Hideaway Island (as well as BBQ lunch) was amazing. Honestly we just loved staying at the resort and apart from the tour, we stayed there our full 7 days, completely immersed in the resort atmosphere. Breakfast was lovely, continental with the best fruit in the world, with delicious mini pancakes and assorted pastries. What more could you want?!! They have a lunch special there as well which includes a delicious juice. I could go on forever about how lovely the whole week was. And if it rains for a day it doesn't matter, you can chat to all the other wonderful people at the resort. Or go swimming in the rain or shine!
Breakas Beach Resort was a wonderful getaway. The Chef was brilliant. It would have been great if there had been vegan options on the menu. The Chef did cook vegan things for me which was lovely.
What do you mean there's no TV?!?! We aussies love our TV but the whole point of holidays is to get out and check out the sights and be social. You actually have to talk to your husband or wife for a change
A great resort to relax and unwind. Very quiet and peaceful,
great pool and right on the beach.
Loved the location, food was amazing, staff friendly. Overall great week away.
Breakas is a nice clean, quiet resort not far from Port Vila. The staff tend you leave you alone to relax and enjoy. There are buses available at the door any time of day. There is only one restaurant and pool but the ocean views are stunning.
I would like to thank all staff who mad our stay wonderful, especially Ferby who is so lovely.
Really enjoyed.Very Relaxing week
Looking for something different in a holiday this is your go to place. Gorgeous beachside location. Private beach with pristine water. Friendly staff.
We were a family of 6 adults, and when we arrived at Breakas Resort we were a bit apprehensive of how it was going to be as it's a smaller resort than we're used to and when we entered our garden fares and saw there was no TV and no free wifi outside of common areas we thought maybe we had made the wrong choice. We could not have been more wrong. By the end of the night we were loving this resort. It actually makes you disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and because it's a smaller resort, most guests are happy to talk with each other and have drinks together etc. we met some lovely people and loved saying hi to everyone each morning at Breakfast.
FOOD: Breakfast is standard toast, yoghurt, fruits, pancakes and pastries, but if you want something more substantial you can order off the menu eg bacon, Omelettes, sausages etc. We found the standard breakfast plenty. Lunch you can order from the menu too. Dinner is something else! We did not have a bad meal! The eye fillet and vegetables were cooked to perfection. Creamy chicken pesto pasta amazing, but the poulet fish I had on the last night was the best fish I've ever had! Had the coconut crab one night and it was amazing too. Yes it can take a while to get your meals, but that is because they cook everything fresh. Heard the odd person complain about how long the meals took, and I'd like to say just chill out and give the staff the respect they deserve.
STAFF: The staff were so lovely and friendly. They will accommodate any requests they can and make you feel so welcome. The security guards are so chatty and will walk you back to your care at night with a torch, even though it's not required.
We felt safe at all times in Vanuatu, and that's why we've been 3 times. We will definitely go back and we will stay at Breakas for sure❤️
A great place to to chill out. Staff are great. Accommodation is comfortable. No tv means that you have to communicate. Will definitely give this property a look in the future
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with smiles.
A great place to stay.
Everything, and I mean everything was above exceptional.
We had a wonderful , relaxing time here at Breakas Beach resort. The staff were all very nice as they welcomed us. They gave us great advice and were extra helpful when we needed them. Thank you Breakas Beach Resort staff!
We enjoyed our stay although weather was not ideal. Staff very helpful, amenities were adequate and meals and shows were worth while. We'll be back
We spent ten days at Breakas resort in July '24 and were a bit unluckily to have rain and strong winds for all but the last two days, which took a little "shine" off our holiday, but overall, we did have a relaxing break. The staff are great, always smiling and happy to help with any requests, and we couldn't fault the food, eating at the resort for all but one night, with not one meal we didn't enjoy.
Due to the wind, there was virtually no activities available at the resort (only very average snorkelling at high tide and beach walking on the broken coral at low tide) unless you are a surfer. The local village walk was interesting, and better than we expected though…
The rooms are rustic and overall, comfortable enough with good king size beds, but given the size of the rooms, perhaps a two seater couch would have been a nice addition, as only the uncomfortable out door chairs to sit on apart from the bed when in our room (trying to escape the wind).
There is a small grocery store across the road from the resort, which was great for purchasing soft drinks and snacks to have with our duty free "mixers".
Overall, we enjoyed our stay but don't fell we saw the best Vanuatu or what this resort has to offer due to the very average weather.
A great time at Breakas Beach Resort. The staff were wonderful and the food was fantastic too.
A great relaxing venue. Maybe more menu changes/choices. Staff most obliging and always smiling.
Swaying palm tree, private beach, infinity pool, cocktails, restaurant, bar, beautiful locals, what's not to like. A very welcoming & relaxing place to stay. Would definitely love to return.
Staff are friendly and only too happy to help. The pool would be better with heating so it's not freezing in the morning and at night.
If you want style, comfort, truly fantastic food and a wonderful smiling fun loving staff to look after you the Breakas is the place to go. My advice is this, go with an open mind, ask questions of places to visit, dont be afraid of using local transport, talk to local people, engage with the community and above all you must absolutely have the sea food platter on a Saturday night. Breakas is a resort for couples to have fun, to talk to like minded people, surf, swim, drink wonderful cocktails and the occasional local rum and above all relax. We had the most wonderful time at this Vanuatu resort. Word really cannot express how truly magnificent Breakas really is. Do it. You won't be let down.
We had a very quiet week at Breaka's post Vanuatu Airline demise. The location was lovely directly on beach and the bungalow was comfortable. Sadly the weather the week we were there prevented snorkling and SUPing at the resort however, we took a tour for this. The meals were nice but expensive as were the drinks and some entertainment was cancelled due to lack of clients. The night was finished by 8pm with no encouragement for guests to linger or mingle in the bar. With no TV or internet it is very much a take your book resort. However, if looking for peace and quiet then it is picturesque and perfect.
Great food , good staff ,great shower pressure lovely huts
Had a great time in Vanuatu for seven days - no stress just loved the life style, the weather and the staff were very accommodating. Had some great tours and some not so great. However, overall we had a wonderful holiday. Thank you Breakas Beach Resort. Great staff!
Blown away by the friendliness of staff. Always there to help. Beautiful gardens and surrounds. Loved every minute of our stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at Breakas. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The dinning was also first class. The resort is located in a beautiful area near Pango Village, which is just far enough away from Port Vila but with easy access via local buses or taxis.
We just came home from 6 nights at Breakas. It was a fantastic holiday. The staff were amazing, special thanks to Heather and Rosemary who both went above and beyond with their help and advice. The food is absolutely outstanding. The Breakas coffee is wonderful! We were so pleased with the location. Close enough to the city center to be accessible, but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. The snorkeling 200 meters offshore was amazing. Overall, we would love to visit again!
Our hut was small and cosy and quite authentic yet practical. Great location on the beach and east averse to Port Villa. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The open air feeling of our little hut really added to the feeling of being on holidays.
Loved being able to hear the sea.
The beach was very rocky but the infinity pool was delightful.
The fare was good but no AC. The Italian chef was excellent.
The resort is beautiful, in quiet area. Most of the staff is friendly and always helpful (they were happy to always help us with our requirements for gluten free meals). Only negative thing is that there is no wifi in the rooms, only in reception/restaurant area.
Great location and food. Rooms were clean and tidy and we had good surf all week out the front. The lunch and dinner was outstanding.
Beautiful
Friendly
Basic
Not a good time of year, cloudy and rainy most of the time which is why it's a lot cheaper to go at this time
As above
Beautiful location right on the beach with lovely staff. Ideal for a relaxed getaway.
Stay was lovely. Staff were very friendly and attentive. They helped me to relax - something very much needed. Travelling as a single I was also really made welcome and never felt alone or isolated only looked after.
I would say that perhaps brewed coffee could be available at breakfast and that people should be made aware at check in of the 15% tax on the food and drinks (so there is no suprise at check out - esp important if one is budgeting the meals and drinks).
But overall - a fantastic resort and wonderful place to stay.
Great resort with lovely staff. Short drive from town. Restaurant and bar excellent. Individual huts are very comfy. Just be aware there is no air-con just fans. All three couples loved it and would definitely return here
What an AMAZING place to stay, whether you are single, a couple, family, or parent & teenager.....AMAZING!
We had an absolute blast at Breakas Beach Resort, I was nervous a little bit about going, so we booked this trip a few months ago and a week or two prior I had a look at a few reviews online and did not find many complimentary reviews, so yes, I was a bit apprehensive. HOWEVER!!!! I soon figured out those reviews I read were written by just lifelong negative people!
We had 7 nights at Breakas, and it was fantastic, we were so chilled and relaxed upon our return, yes there is no wi-fi or air conditioning, though did not need either! I loved having a bit of a disconnected holiday, it felt so good, just to sleep and hear the oceans waves crashing from your bed.
The staff are exemplary, 10/10 for all staff at the resort! The chef I am assuming is some sort of undiscovered Michelin star chef, every single meal was to die for! We left the resort for dinner twice to just get out, but we should not have! The best food is at Breakas! Makes sure you give the Blue Cheese Gnocchi a go! It was to die for! All staff are a 10 out of 10 from us!
We already miss it, we met some amazing people whilst there, as in other gusts as well, everyone was so friendly. It was not what I was expecting prior to arrival reading negative reviews! Just goes to show, do not always believe other peoples reviews.
WE WILL BE BACK!
Breakers is a brilliant place to stay while in Vanuatu. The staff are delightful, the is pool magnificent and they have a great restaurant. Even though it doesn't have air-conditioning, I still highly recommend it.
My partner and I went for 7 nights
Food and service was fantastic
Had a marvelous time, very relaxing and will definitely be coming back
Thank you so much
Cheers
The resort is amazing. So relaxing and happy. The staff are friendly, the food is sensational and it has a real relaxed vibe. Sand everywhere and the infinity pool is spectacular. I can't recommend it enough. Just remember to bring mozzie spray with you!!
Our 7 night stay at Breakas was incredible! The location, the facilities, the access to awesome snorkelling, as well as the infinity pool......were all outstanding.
The variety of food available at breakfast, lunch and dinner was also amazing, with excellent, friendly service from all the Breakas staff.
We were treated with a special 30th Wedding Anniversary dinner in our secluded waterfront Beach Hut.
Overall, an excellent holiday, which we definitely recommend!
The beach offered excellent snorkeling options. The rooms and service was thorough. The Italian chef produces some wonderful meals. The staff were exceptionally helpful. The beach side pool was warm and clean. This was our first beach side holiday and we really relaxed. Even my husband who is not a beachy person read 2 book and went into the sea and pool !
There was a lovely walk around the village, and the massages were just fab. We would definitely return again.
The Breakas Resort holiday package was great value. It was exactly how it looked in the photos and we thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to relax and do very little. Great food and cocktails.
Breakas Beach Resort offered a serene retreat with its tranquil atmosphere and a culinary experience that exceeded expectations. The happy hour cocktails, in particular, were a delightful blend of flavors. However, the absence of air conditioning throughout the resort, coupled with the relentless heat, made nighttime rest less enjoyable. Additionally, encountering a few bugs in the room was a minor inconvenience that affected the overall stay. Despite these drawbacks, the resort's overall charm and culinary highlights left a positive impression.
Great 'hut' style individual accommodation in spacious, natural, beachy surrounds. Beautiful pool overlooking the beach and sunset. First class food (amazing chef), friendy, accommodating staff. Wonderful experience and holiday.
Best holiday ever had will come back people are the best.
We had a great stay the staff were very helpful with arrangements for day trips and
The cocktails were great
Lovely location and great staff
Highly recommend
The resort was fantastic and the staff were very helpful and friendly will definitely be going back again
This is a relaxing resort, it's a little out the way and isn't aimed for those seeking lots of activities.
The rooms are very basic but we really didn't mind, if anything maybe we needed the break from being 24/7 online,
If you just want to hang out by the pool, watch the ocean and having amazing food, consider this place
A very relaxing place to stay.
Right on the beach in Port Vila.
Very friendly staff and population.
Quit and good location. Meals were good and a good selection.
Staff could not be more helpful and friendly.
Easy to go into town and tours pick up from the resort
During our stay with a few days of cyclone
Staff we amazing making sure saftey and calm
For holiday makers
Breakas was a lovely hotel with cute cabin rooms, great pool and on the beach. No tv or wifi in the rooms which in our opinion is absolute bliss and a perfect way to actually switch off whilst on holiday. Outdoor shower was a gorgeous addition. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall very happy with the accommodation.
We really enjoyed our stay at Breakas. Great atmosphere in a small friendly lay back resort.Excellent location on the beach and onlya short drive to main centre. Hope to go back again one day.
beautiful resort with beautiful people, highly recommended
This resort was adults only. It has excellent food, service, friendless and location. I would highly recommend this place. You can relax on the beach, drink at the bar, catch the bus from outside. There is also a little diary across the road. It was incredible.
Loved our stay. Can't fault it. Lovely staff, amazing food and the beach is so beautiful. Cocktails around the pool! We'll be back for sure!
Breakas was in great location ,beautiful beach, clear water, the bungalows were a nice size . The food in the Resort was a little hit and miss but there is a few great little restaurants within walking distance so that wasn't a problem. On the whole we had a lovely week. Just bear in mind Vanuatu is at least as expensive as Australia so not a cheap holiday
Stunning outlook - great staff - all in all a fantastic resort.
Highly recommend.
Arranged reunion with some friends at this fantastic resort. Group started as 6, increased to 8, then 10 and finally 12. Everyday was like having a huge party with everyone onsite enjoying the friendly relaxing environment.
Staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much of an effort to ensure everyone had a fantastic stay.
Thoroughly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Vanuatu.
We love Breakas!
We have been there many times over the years, it is a very different holiday than staying at a large resort.
The fales (or bures) are simple and comfortable. No aircon here, just a big central fan in the ceiling of a thatched traditional style room.. which leads the heat upwards.
Wooden shutters let the airflow through, while a mosquito net keeps the bugs out of bed and adds to a romantic feel.
An island style coral-walled bathroom ( some with outdoor showers) are breezy and well equipped.
No TV!! Yay! Not good for spending the whole day on your device, the reception is ouch and go. For us that is the perfect holiday!
The restaurant is staffed by local villagers (who own the land in the village) they are the same staff who have been there for many years and we have come to know them all by name.
They are beautiful, caring people with gentle natures and are always eager to please.
The food is now amazing, with a new Italian chef, Paulo and his wife, Cindy who runs the restaurant. We cannot fault either and would happily eat there every night.
For us, it's the perfect holiday, which is why we keep returning.
We had a wonderful stay at Breakas Beach Resort. Great location right on the beach. The staff were friendly and attentive. Easy to book tours and get transport into town. The rooms were very quaint and the outdoor showers were lovely. Only thing was there was no aircon, but we found we didn't need it as the sea breeze and ceiling fan was more than enough to cool us down. Would definitely recommend staying here!
Beautiful place to be in Vanuatu.
The food was prepared by a masterful Italian Chef, top notch beef, seafood and pasta dishes couldn't fault any of the lunches and dinners
Breakfast was a bit light on as it was continental with no eggs or other proteins
staff were excellent.
We had a lovely first week at Breakas. Room was good but a bit tired looking, bed was fantastic. Outside shower was ok but little pressure.
Good and ample breakfast. Staff were lovely and helpful. Groundsmen we're constantly raking and cleaning, garden was beautiful. Cleaning staff, especially Annie were lovely and efficient. Entertainment was good. We usually had a mid afternoon meal at the resort, up the road at the 3 pigs or in town. Buses to town were fantastic, never had to wait, with a set fee.
Maps in foyer were good, however they were accompanied by discount vouchers on tours, cafes etc that were 3 years out of date and not valid.
We went on one tour to Blue Lagoon with Sammy's, fantastic. Beach was nice but couldn't swim there some days as it had dangerous currents. They need more lounger covers. No hammocks, I was really looking forward to lying in a hammock. Disappointing.
The layout of Breakas is so well thought out. There is the stunning pool with ocean views, and the restaurant and bar areas arranged so that this view is enjoyed. The gardens are gorgeous with winding paths to each bure, it's deceptive how many rooms there are, and the flowers are beautiful. The outdoor shower is a treat, we were under a giant tree. There were lots of places to relax with a book and the food was superb. The staff are lovely and welcoming, and you often here them laughing together as they work which is refreshing for sure. We highly recommend this resort for a relaxing and special holiday.
A nice place to stay. Included breakfast is only continental style. Lunch and dinner is a bit pricey, but good.
Private garden beachfront stay, very relaxing, cared for in the resort and very helpful and cared for when going out of the resort.
Only 4 hours from Melbourne - this hidden gem run by an Italian in Queensland is a credit to the locals who resurrected it after being hit by 2 cyclones in March this year.
The Resort is nicely positioned away from crowds and traffic along side a bay and with a beach. Sadly, due to broken coral reefs, it is nearly impossible to swim off the beach, but there is a lovely pool.
I could not fault the staff for their friendly attitude and their professionalism, willing to help all the time and always attentive to our needs. The cabin we occupied was roomy and comfortable with an outdoor shower. Housekeeping were efficient and friendly. Tour desk were very helpful too.
Local buses were available at the door to ferry guests anywhere in town (Port Vila) for a pittance VT150.
The breakfast was pretty basic since the resort stopped serving a hot buffet and was restricted to mainly toast and fruit with yoghurt. But the fare at dinner was excellent, the chefs really went all out and the quality and quantity were superb.
If I could fault anything then I must mention the costs of food and drink were restrictive, for what we got it's not a budget experience and the price of drinks, we found, to be exorbitant.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Breakas.
We absolutely loved our stay at Breakas Beach Resort!
We have stayed in better though with no children in was so awesome.
Loved our stay!!
great accomodation and friendly staff nothing a problem very relaxi
A great location, great dining, very handy to town, tours can be organised with local B bus drivers out front and plenty of other dining options nearby. The beachfront bures are so relaxing, the ocean sound and the view is well worth the dollars. The entertainment was also a treat.
Great friendly staff, lovely meals, great location.
Staff kept the place immaculate, racked every inch of the grounds & rooms cleaned perfectly daily, would thoroughly recommend this resort.
Great atmosphere terrific staff
What an awesome wind down resort. The design is village like, no a/C, no internet, no tv... Just sit back relax and let the amazing staff look after you. Have a cocktail on the beach and soak in the quiet. We will definitely be back.
We stayed at Breakas for 7 nights and absolutely loved it. It is right on the beach which was awesome. The fare bungalows are gorgeous, a really comfortable bed, freestanding from other accommodations so feel a bit more private. There is a large bathroom and an outdoor shower, so beautiful to shower and look up at the stars!
It is 10mins drive from Port Vila city, but it's easy to catch a bus and very affordable too. Close to other restaurants, within walking distance if you feel like a change from eating at the resort.
The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. No kids at the resort, it's adults only. We highly recommend staying here!
Beautiful resort with everything available, happy with the customer service, all needs easily catered for, well organised resort, with staff always on hand to help with a happy smile and friendly conversation
Loved the Bure style accommodation and friendly staff. Meals were amazing done by their Italian chef. Heaps to do in Vanuatu or just relax.
Loved the resort and Bure style accommodation. Staff were lovely. The chef is Italian and food was divine. We had a great week did a tour to LeLepa and hired a bus driver to take us completely around the island on a day tour. Stops included the chocolate factory, Turtle and wildlife Sanctuary, lunch a swim in the mud pools and the coffee factory.
I came here with my close friends and partner for my birthday and had the most beautiful time. The staff were exeptional . Everyone went out of there way to look after us. I was even sung Happy Birthday by the amazing Cultural Dancers. I would recomment this to any couple fantastic!
Love Vanuatu and the people. Hotel great and friendly staff. Great pool and location is great.
Beautiful place to stay at
This was the most lovely place we have stayed at. Would go back again in a heart beat! And the best was NO KIDS AND THEIR SCREAMING
Being an adults only resort (16 years and older) is a huge incentive to stay at Brekkas. Breakfast was included - continental with lots of choices. You were also able to order 2 eggs fried with bacon at no extra cost but any other type of egg was not included in the free breakfast. Dinner options were expensive but food was ok.
They look after the grounds well and always cleaning the common areas around the restaurant and bar. Nice to have access to the beach and beautiful view with high tide.
I loved everything about Breakas, I loved the hut accommodation and the outside shower, the property was kept so clean and tidy, the staff were so friendly and kind and when the tide was up, the view was beautiful. When the tide was down, there were great rock pools to explore. The pool was so beautiful, however it was very cold so no one really swam in it. The restaurant was great, beautiful location in the beach and great food. Breakas was a fantastic spot to return to each day after exploring the island.
Great resort! All staff were friendly and helpful.
Wifi could be a little better but overall was a great experience. Will definitely be going back!
We had a wonderful time here and really appreciated the location (on the water, good restaurant Three Pigs nearby, a short drive on the bus to town) as well as the great service.
We had such a beautiful stay at Breakas Beach Resort for our honeymoon in June 2023! The staff were very welcoming and helpful, and we appreciated the location - away from the hustle and bustle of Port Vila but only a 10-minute ride in the local mini buses. Mini buses are cheaper than the taxis, with a mini bus ride costing 150 Vatu into town (less than $2 AUD). You can even hire some of the drivers for the entire day, at a negotiated rate!
We loved hearing the ocean all night, and the entertainment was enjoyable (mainly live singers or groups in the main bar, and there was a Melanesian Feast night with two cultural singing and dancing groups on the Wednesday, and one night when some local young women performed some Tahitian dancing).
The tour desk was very helpful! The tour desk operator was knowledgeable and able to answer any questions we might have had. She was just lovely!
While you can really only swim at high tide in the morning, the beach was there to enjoy! The pool was also very pleasant.
We enjoyed all of our meals at dinner time. We were mainly out and about for lunches. The continental breakfast was fine, though I was only informed by accident on our second last day at the resort that bacon and eggs were included in the free continental breakfast. The staff were very apologetic and it wasn't really a big drama anyway!
In all, we had a beautiful stay at Breakas! The staff were all so friendly and helpful, the rooms comfortable, the scenery spectacular and the weather just magical. Thanks, tumas, Breakas! We hope to come back soon :)
We had a lovely trip to Vanuatu, staying at Breakas Beach Resort. A beautiful location only a 10minute bus ride to Post Vila. This was exactly what we wanted a quiet location with nothing to do but swim and relax on the beach. There was plenty to do if that's what you wanted. There was a couple of Cafes within walking distance which were lovely, Three Pigs and Cafe Vila. Highly recommend.
Thank you Travel Online for helping us organise a short break away from home.
Vanuatu is a beautiful island, rich lands and lovely water. Gorgeous waterfalls, good snorkeling, friendly happy people and very safe. This holiday destination is one that depends heavily on having good weather. There is not a lot to do, other than read a book, when weather turns bad. We were fortunate to have 3.5 sunny days of 7 . But the good outweighs the bad so go enjoy.
Breakas was a very nice beach resort, we enjoyed our time hanging out in the bar area of an evening before dinner, and swimming in the pool during the day. Vanuatu has changed a lot since we were last there. No longer is there an abundance of fresh seafood, that has all been fished out by the Chinese Government and sent overseas, however, the Chef at Breakas made some lovely meals. The rooms were always clean and tidy, the resort was also kept the same way. It was easy to get anywhere on the Island from Breakas as the local buses and taxis go past every two minutes. There is also a convenience store across the road. The staff were very friendly and couldn't be more accomodating. I'd maybe give the cocktails a miss as they weren't the best, I think it was the alcohol that was used in them, but overall we can not fault our stay at Breakas.
We had an amazing week at Breakas in Vanuatu on Efate Island. I really can recommend the food that
Paulo prepares with his team and Cindy who looks after the service and is on the ball all the time. Very lucky to have them at Breakas together with all the front of house staff, Bar tenders and housekeeping.
We were totally amazed about the friendliness of the resort staff and also in general all the people on the island.
we self-explored by having a car but next time will take tours and go and see other island.
Not having a TV for a week was actual good.
it was very relaxing holiday.
Location, service and staff all 5 star. Good variety of food options. Evening entertainment was bonus and enjoyable atmosphere.
My wife and I loved our week at Breakas. Room was comfortable, staff were so friendly (special mention to Barbara for her hospitality and Olivia for her excellent cooking demonstration). Front desk very helpful and we really enjoyed eating at the restaurant each night - excellent service and great food by chef Paulo.
Well maintained & clean. Fantastic room. Helpful friendly staff. Great food. Highly recommend
So much about Breakas is 10 out of 10. Location is perfectly situated on a beautiful coral reef that sees you just a couple of steps away from some brilliant snorkeling. Location to town isn't very far, but can be difficult for some of the local busses in returning you to the hotel, especially at night. No air con in your rooms makes summer accommodation a bit steamy, but it is a very small price to pay for a scenic view from most front doors and some sensational scenery overlooking the local beach which provides some brilliant sunsets. Staff are fantastic (as are all the locals on the Island), nothing is too hard and everything is done with a smile. Just be prepared for "Island Time", as a lot of tours and events don't always run on time - but I liked this, as it makes you just sit down and relax and enjoy the place and it's surroundings. Overall we had just the best time in Vanuatu and Breaks was a large part of this super positive experience. Thanks everyone!!
Really enjoyed my stay ay Breakas.
Lack of air conditioning made my stay a bit uncomfortable.
Continental breakfast was not good. Dinners were great! Highly recommend the dinner, best Chef!
Thank you for a great resort with all marina life, great services, lovely staff and a quiet location.
Small advice. We found, the changes in the fees for a few services on the island. Like, hire the bus for the day.
One day the price was different than the second day.
Please print out all the prices for the daily trip and stick them on them.
Overall, the other services were fantastic.
Thank you, we are coming back.
Great stay, wonderful food, excellent cleaning service, friendly staff. We will be back
The staff are amazing and the location right on the beach is beautiful, The rooms are a little dated but having not long come out of lockdown it's understandable why this is so.
Great resort in a fantastic location, staff will go out of their way to help you with whatever you need. Buffet breakfast and pizzas at night were good but the rest of the food was terrible. (Replace the chef) and it's five stars all the way.
Breakas is a great place to stay with friendly staff ready to help in any way. Having the beach/ reef at its doorstep was perfect to swim/ snorkel when the tide was high, otherwise, the pool was a lovely option.
The gardens and surrounds are well maintained daily, with other options to sit under trees away from the main building and pool, if you want more privacy. The huts were perfect and cleaned daily, with natural methods of ventilation using wooden slats, (flywire mesh to keep the mozzies out) and overhead fans. There was NO issue with tropical/high humidity mould as I've seen in other places like Bali. There is no TV in the huts which was fantastic to disengage from technology and just relax, read, sleep, or whatever!
The restaurant was good but did have quality control issues some of the time. Most of the meals were great.
Happy hour at the bar from 5pm was always a winner with buy one cocktail get one free, so by the time dinner came around it was welcomed.
Just one tip concerning your bar/ restaurant tab.....you are better off paying cash at the time of purchase.
Overall, it was a great place to stay, rest, swim or book day tours.
This place is amazing. The staff went beyond their normal duties and were so considerate with my husband’s Alzheimer’s disease
Thank you carol and Richard owens
Friendly staff most accommodating to visitors.the chef and his wife were consistently in touch with the resident needs. I could not recommend this resort more. Absolutely great.
Breakas was a fantastic place to stay the food, cocktails, service, and entertainment is highly recommended. The staff are incredible and attentive; nothing was an issue.
I would recommend breakas. It is beautiful resort on a beautiful beach. The staff is very welcoming and happy to help with everything. It is close to city and the longest we ever waited for the bus was 2-3 min. Amazing
The dinners and service were fantastic The Italian chef produces amazing flavoursome dishes. There was no need to eat anywhere else!
Resort was super clean and exceptionally well Maintained. Great beachside location with surf break . Cocktails, bar and nightly music and entertainment were of a high standard. Lovely gardens and peaceful location. Would recommend to friends!
The staff at Breaka's Beach Resort could not do enough to ensure our holiday was amazing. They were friendly, helpful and always smiling, The food was delicious and the location was perfect. We walked straight out of our room on to the beach - beautiful. We will be back!
It was great
- Very friendly and accomodating staff
- Delicious food and cocktails
- Tucked away in a nice pocket of Port Vila
- Relaxed vibe and not and over developed Resort
We had a beautiful stay. Very romantic and such a relaxing place. Staff are amazing and beautiful ambience
The staff were friendly and organised our day out perfectly,
We had no needs to go outside the resort for dining as the food was Five star!!
We would recommend staying h here to couples and individuals to relax.
As we are water uses and surfers this location was perfect. We took the added extra off having a beach front location which was great.
Food was good and enjoyed our meals. Bar prices and restaurant prices at resort same as the rest of eateries in Port Vila and we say' same as Aussie prices' so don't expect cheap. In saying that- we knew prior to going to Vanuatu- we loved getting involved with the entertainment etc at Breakas and staff were helpful without being pushy so if you wanted something all you had to do is ask. We would certainly go back and stay again. Only 4 stars as ceiling fan control was only on or off no speed control working and no air conditioner (but we knew that)
Service only 4 as would be nice to have a little more attention when hanging out in the afternoon etc around the pool or beac chairs for drinks etc
All up we had a great time there.
This was the best place for three 'girls' to celebrate our 50th Birthday. Relaxing, peaceful, friendly.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Breakas Beach Resort. The staff were all fantastic, always happy, smiling and nothing was too much trouble for them. The 14 years and above age restriction meant it was quiet and peaceful either beside the pool and bar or down on the beach. Our room was awesome and we both loved the outdoor shower. I would recommend BBR to anyone who wants to relax, drink a cocktail or two and enjoy the friendly hospitality of Vanuatu.
We stayed a week at a beach front fare. Worth the extra money to be on the beach. Staff at breakas were fantastic. So friendly and helpful. We would go back again.
Breakas is a fabulous resort and we would recommed it to anyone wanting a peaceful break in paradise. The facilities are lovely and the staff are amazing; we hope to holiday there again.
Food and bar prices more expensive than Auckland Central. Not just Breakas but all of Port Villa and resorts.
We ate one meal only,(dinner.) at Breakas due to cost.
Staff are amazing.
Prices aimed at Aussies so we lose with lower exchange rates.
Bonus was no young children.
Thank you Breakas Beach Resort for an incredible island getaway. My boyfriend and I had a fantastic time and would definitely return and recommend other couples and adults to the resort. Great location, helpful and friendly staff, fantastic food and 10 minutes to the middle of Port Vila. Amazing holiday.
The resort, staff, location are just amazing. To get the resort back to it's current state after Cyclone Pam is just unbelievable. The staff have done an outstanding job, the resort is beautiful, the service and food is impeccable and could not be faulted. Can't wait to go back next year....
Service was excellent and very punctual
Breakas is not the Hyatt so don't go there if that's what you want but if you want somewhere that is a it different but really comfortable and just so relaxing with staff that feel like family on the first day then it is for you.
This was a top break, this resort is a beauty, clean, staff very obliging. Frita, guest relations was excellent, thank you muchly Frita
A wonderful place to stay for any adult over 15 years old. The resort is built on the beach!! The staff are fantastic and everything one would need is available. The very frequent buses into Port Vila are available by flagging them down outside the resort gate and the security guards are on hand to assist. The cost is 150 vatu (less than $2.00).
Meals cost more than expected - approximately the same as in Australia and alcohol purchased at the hotel is very costly.
Food was great but just a little pricey otherwise a great resort. They would try to accommodate all of our wishes. My partner enjoyed the surf that was right in front of the resort. The huts were amazing, nice big soft bed.
The staff were friendly, the seafood and food was amazing and we had a wonderful stay at Breakas
Absolutely beautiful, if you want to relax by the sea and falling asleep with the sound of the waves, this is the place. The staff is so friendly, and very professional too, from the security officer to the cleaner, they were fantastic, you feel safe, and in Vanuatu you can trust them all from the staff at Breakas to the bus and taxi driver and the people on the island. Isaac the manager, Roy Frita and Katia, are excellent at their job, thank you you Breakas, for sure we will be back again, oh by the way, the food A plus, and the dining setting on the beach, beautiful.
We found Breaka's to be an excellent couples resort, friendly and courteous staff. Good value for money.
Breakas is the perfect place to escape from your busy life. No TV, great location, excellent food & service. I recommend this resort. The no children aspect is a welcome bonus.
Ideal for a relaxing holiday - just what we wanted
Great place to spend your time while in Vanuatu. Friendly and helpful staff . Food was a little expensive compared to places in Port Vila. But overall great place to stay.
My partner and I had a lovely 9 night stay at Breakas Beach Resort. We particularly loved the sundecks and hammocks dotted around the beach. The staff were lovely, the food delightful and cocktails were delicious. We loved Wednesday - Melanisian night and braved the kava on offer. While I didn't mind the no air-con my partner did suffer a bit. Apart from that we had a fantastic stay.
Thoroughly enjoyed stay at Breakas, fantastic position & great service
Awesome holiday and kids free resort so no children running around hogging the pool. Make sure you book a Beach Fare. Food a bit overpriced for dinner but there are plenty of other options in Port Vila.
Friendly people, plenty to do, easy to get around, could have stayed longer
A lovely place to go to get away from it all! Highly recommended for couples and people that enjoy swimming and water sports.
My fiancé and I had an amazing time during our 6 night stay at Breakas Beach Resort. The staff were lovely and the service was spot on. The pool and beach front location made for relaxing days and the resort is only a 10 minute bus ride into town. We stayed in a garden fares which was beautiful and cleaned daily.
We would definitely go back in a heart beat.
Great location. Friendly staff providing good service. Easy to organise trips and tours. Great place to relax around the resort or to get out and about. Great holiday experience.
Great service.
Fantastic site for being away from the world but still with easy access to Vila if required.
Good meals & entertainment so stayed there the whole time.
Especially good value due to 5 days pay for 3.
Serene and quiet with comfortable rooms. No TV YAY!! Just a few little things could be tidied up. Lovely white beach, happy smiling staff and an easy bus ride to town. A great combination of resort , culture and the bustle of town .
Great holiday.
lovely location and staff very friendly
Very relaxing, warm & welcoming, will be back again, thank you to everyone at Breakas for making our stay the most relaxing you years.
I cannot praise Breakas Beach Resort enough. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the location is great and the food was of the highest quality.
My fiancee and I spent our honeymoon exclusively at Breakas and after a few days we were so glad that we had decided not to move around.
The staff at Breakas greet you with a smile everyday and some become particular friends during your stay.
While I was a bit concerned after reading some bad reviews after making my booking I can say that whatever was happening when those people stayed is no longer a problem at Breakas. Any request we had was accommodated and Frida at the tour desk was particularly wonderful in organising some of our tours.
If you want luxury don't stay here but if you want beautiful island rooms, wonderful friendly people and the most relaxing atmosphere I've ever encountered Breakas is the place to go.
Breakas Beach Resort was exactly what we wanted. A beautiful location on the beach, fabulous pool, great food and drinks, friendly staff, no children.........a quiet, relaxing holiday in paradise.
Our Beachfront fare was perfect for us, right on the beach, clean, quiet and comfortable.
The pool was sensational - saltwater, clean and at the right temperature all the time.
Lovely food, nicely presented. The staff made us feel special and welcome.
A great, great holiday for us. Lots of swimming, lazing, reading and relaxing.
Lovely stay at Breakas - fabulous location and lovely pool.
Went with another couple....had the best time ever. The food was sensational every meal was the best. The staff were always helpful and cheerful. Location is perfect and rooms were fantastic. After you get used to the open air shower.. I can't wait to go back not sure anywhere else will compare..
Having worked in the Australian Outback for the last 7mths we needed a break!! I saw Breakers Resort advertised on TV so made a booking & am so glad we did as it was a great setting on the water also had excellent facilities for all.
Breakas was a perfect location to relax and unwind. Sunsets from the hammock sipping cocktails. Delicious seafood smorgasboard with free entertainment provided by island dancers was a highlight. Staff are shy initially, but have good sense of humour and nothing is a problem. Your enjoyment is their priority
Food 10 out of 10
Staff so friendly & nice
Location, could be a little closer to the main shops, but the distance isn't bad. Approx 15-20mins bus ride.
The views & rooms were clean and breath taking. Especially waking up to the waves of the ocean or sleeping near the beach at night.
They set up tables on the beach for dinner, so sweet & romantic with candles.
You can do as much .. or as little as you want! Highly recommended.
I loved my trip, the whole experience was worth every cent. I was worried about rain because we went in the rainy season but it was nice & sunny through & if it rained it did so for 5-15mins then stop & sun shine again.
The rooms were clean & neat, awesome outdoor type shower. The staff were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! so genuinely friendly.
Me & my sister agree we had the BEST food we had ever tried on our lives at that resort!
The food is quite expensive there but pretty worth it.
We loved our stay at Breakas it was very relaxing and was the perfect place to chill out for a week and do nothing. The entertainment, pool, food, cocktails and Hamocks to watch the sunset in are just what we were looking for.
My only critisism and this is nothing major would be the staff are not overly friendly which was a surprise as I was expecting to see happy smiling faces like in Fiji or any of the islands. Also if you are looking for privacy ask not to have Bungalow 4 as this sits right next to the bar and can be noisy.
Totally recommend for recharging the batteries. The resort staff were amazing, friendly and attentive. Spectacular spot, going to sleep and waking with the sound of waves crashing onto the beach! We will be back!
Cannot recommend this hotel enough. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend going with the beachfront bungalows for the amazing views. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. Recommend the Saturday night seafood buffet. The fact that it is an adults only hotel really makes the difference when traveling as a couple. The only bad thing I can say about breakas is that when the cruise ships are in they must advertise their views because their pool and bar fills up with non guests that are a bit more boisterous than the regular guests. Some tried to charge drinks to our room. But apart from this it is an excellent hotel and thoroughly recommend to couples.
I have just returned from staying at Breakas Resort and it would have to be one of the best Resorts I have ever stayed in.
Port Vila and its attractions are only a short drive away, with buses and taxis constantly driving passed the front enterance.
The view is to die for, the staff very friendly, the grounds spotless, the owner George very hands-on, Alfred the tour desk operator very helpful and can organise anything in a moments notice, the food was of a 5 star standard, the fare cosy and bigger than expected (loved the bathroom).
Would definitely recommend getting a massage at the attached day spa - the best I have ever had.
All in all a wonderful Resort for couples and very relaxing with no children allowed.
If you are looking for a wedding or honeymoon venue, this Resort can not be beaten, you will be treated like royality!
Debbie
My family just spent 4 days here, ending with my son getting married on the beach.
The venue, all the staff, accommodation and food was just just fantastic. We are already planning our next trip.
Breakas is definitely a cut above other resorts and as an adults only, it was vey friendly and relaxing. George (the owner) and Albert (the tour desk operator) were just awesome. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The groundsmen are also fantastic and kept the whole place spotless.
One recommendation is to definitely get a massage for the 2 lovely ladies at the day spa. I have never had better.
The food was amazing! The total cost of our stay was unbelievable.
I totally recommend this resort!
Great room, location, beach, surfing! No complaints at all.
Got friendly with other young couples around the pool bar so I definitely recommend it for other young couples.
Good base to go exploring Efate and you can walk out to the front of the resort and hail a bus and they can take you into town.
