Mount Isa Airport

Located in western Queensland, Mount Isa Airport is located in the Australian outback town of Mount Isa. Owned since 2005 by Queensland Airports Limited, the Mount Isa Airport handles approximately 217,525 passengers each year. The airport is primarily serviced by a number of regional airlines with scheduled flights between both major cities and a number of other smaller regional centres.

There are a number of renowned Australian airlines that service Mount Isa Airport including Airnorth which operates flights to Darwin and the Gold Coast, Qantas which operates flights to Brisbane, QantasLink which operates flights to Cloncurry and Townsville, Regional Express Airlines which operates flights to Julia Creek, Hughenden, Townsville and Richmond, Skytrans Airlines which operates flights to Birdsville, Bedourie, Brisbane, Boulia, Burketown, Charleville, Cairns, Doomadgee, Karumba, Gununa, Quilpie, Normanton, Windorah and Toowoomba, Virgin Australia which operates flights to Brisbane and West Wing Aviation which operates flights Townsville.

Mount Isa Airport is also home to a number of facilities and services including ATMs throughout the terminal, public toilets, a parent's room, wheelchair access toilets, public telephones, check-in counters, arrivals and departure lounges as well as a number of shopping and dining options including a gift shop, licensed bar and café. A taxi rank is located directly outside the terminal for convenient transport options as well as a number of car hire companies located within the terminal such as Avis, Budget, Hertz and Four Wheel Drive.

There is also an airport shuttle that services both the greater Mount Isa and Cloncurry. There are also parking options located onsite at the airport including short and long term parking options. Short term parking is located directly in front of the terminal and has a maximum stay of up to two hours. The Long term car park offers secure parking and is located a little further back from the entrance to the terminal at a rate of $10 per 24 hour period.
