Having just wrapped up on location filming in Brisbane city for the latest instalment in the Thor film franchise, Hollywood mega star Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataki have enjoyed some downtime on beautiful Hamilton Island. The couple flew to the popular Queensland Island onboard a private jet accompanied by New Zealand director Taika Waititi.
Enjoying a relaxing weekend away without their three children, Hemsworth and his wife stayed at luxury Hamilton Island accommodation, Qualia resort. The couple kicked back at the deluxe, adults only resort owned by the billionaire Oatley family. Famous for their sailing prowess, Hemsworth joined the Oatley family on the Sydney to Hobart winning-supermaxi yacht Wild Oats XI.
On the final day of Audi Race Week, Hemsworth donned the iconic red spray jacket and enjoyed a taste of ocean racing, joining the crew of Wild Oats including owner Sandy Oatley and captain Mark Richards. While the crew may have thought the power of Thor would be their secret weapon, Hemsworth was happy to do his best as a last minute crew member.
As ambassadors for Tourism Australia, Chris Hemsworth and wife Elsa Pataki shared snaps of their getaway with their thousands of Instagram followers including a number of candid shots featuring a shirtless Hemsworth. Much to the delight of their fans, the Hollywood couple enjoyed some down time dining at a Pebble Beach restaurant, keeping a low profile and making the most of their private infinity pool.
Hemsworth is due to fly back to the Gold Coast to resume filming of the new fantasy blockbuster with co-star Tom Hiddleston. Although Hiddleston didn't join the couple on Hamilton Island, his partner - singing superstar Taylor Swift caused a stir last year when she had the island closed down to celebrate her birthday while on her 1989 world tour.
