Heron Island Weather & Climate

Located in the tropical Queensland Islands 72km off the coast of Gladstone, Heron Island is a beautiful holiday destination with outstanding landscapes and amazing weather. The wet season occurs from January to March where high levels of humidity create a build-up of thunderstorms, strong winds and bursts of monsoon rain. However, Heron Island receives less rainfall than other tropical islands within the Queensland Region

Winter is a pleasant time to visit Heron Island, with temperatures sitting around 20°C and the water temperature reaching 18°C. Winter is also an amazing time for whale watching and scuba diving.
