Hunter Valley Wine School at Hunter Resort

This certificate course covers all you need to know about wine including grapevine growing, the crushing, vat and filtration process as well as the casking and cellar process. Enjoy a day of wine appreciation including grape varieties and their differences, how to tell a good wine, taste, colour, bouquet and much more.

Hunter Valley Cooking School at Hunter Resort

Enjoy a 'hands on' cooking lesson in a wonderful kitchen. Visiting the Cheese Factory beforehand you'll gain some culinary inspiration before getting down to business. Groups range from 8-12 and enjoy a delicious lunch followed by an afternoon of wine appreciation.

Horse Riding

Experience the Hunter Valley's spectacular scenery with a horseback ride through the countryside. A range of trail rides are available for all skill levels, please see our tours page for more information.

Cheese Factory

Sample handmade cheeses and preserves with quality fresh breads at the Hunter Valley Cheese Factory. Taste to your heart's content and purchase your favourites to take home or enjoy on a picnic in the picturesque parks. McDonalds Road, Pokolbin. Open 7 days from 9.00am to 5.00pm.

Bluetongue Brewery at Hunter Resort

The relatively recently opened Bluetongue Brewery located at Hunter Resort offers a unique location to enjoy four of its in-house boutique beers. Nothing but a glass wall separates the contemporary bar from the rest of the brewery, offering a fascinating insight into the brewing process as you enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, game of pool or bite to eat. Choose from a unique alcoholic Ginger Beer, a full flavoured Premium Lager, Summer Wheat or Hunter Bitt, all available on tap.

The laid back country atmosphere of the Hunter Valley lends itself perfectly to a range of traditional and contemporary arts and crafts including antique stores, galleries, local art and handcrafted pieces. Some are individual attractions and some are situated within wineries, allowing you to discover them as you explore this beautiful wine growing region.
