Thanks to the gorgeous tropical weather and amazing beach culture, its no surprise that many of Noosa's best events revolve around the beach - and the Noosa Summer Swim is no exception. The Noosa Summer Swim is held annually at Main Beach Noosa Heads in late January early February. Drawing crowds from across Australia and the world the Noosa Summer Swim is an amazing event to be a part of. Whether you want to compete with the best athlete in the world, or sit on the shore and spectacle, the Summer Swim has a fantastic range of entertainment for all.
The ocean swimming event is for all abilities and includes; the main event a 3km swim where you choose your own wave start group, 1km short course swim which is great for less experienced ocean swimmers, as well as the 2km course, which is the most popular event on the program. There is also plenty of fun on offer for the kids, with the 300m and 1000m Junior Giants Dash. The Junior Giants Dash are great introduction events to ocean swimming and are open for kids aged 8 to 16. The new event is the 5km Grand Prix and features some of the most competitive ocean swimming in Australia.
The winner of each event will be awarded trophies and product prizes and elite swimmers will have the chance to compete for the overall Noosa Summer Swim Championship. There is elite prize money available for both males and females if you compete in both the long and short course.
Spectators are welcome as the Noosa Summer Swim courses are designed so family and friends can sit and watch competitors start and finish their swim.
