Taste Port Douglas Food & Wine Festival

From August 12 to 14, visitors to Port Douglas will have the opportunity to experience the lifestyle and food culture of Tropical North Queensland along with Australia's best chefs. The Taste Port Douglas Food & Wine Festival is presented by Sheraton Mirage and is an annual celebration of Tropical North Queensland's best food culture.

Bringing together the region's best farmers and chefs, the three-day foodie fest highlights the region's best produce, restaurants and indigenous culture through an inspiring line up of presenters and guest chefs from some of the country's most prestigious food publications and restaurants.

Over three days, visitors will enjoy a collaboration of lunches and dinners in some of Port Douglas's most stunning locations. However the main event of the weekend is the two-day festival held at the bustling Rex Smeal Park. This foodie's paradise will be active Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 August for pop up food and market stalls overlooking the region's natural beauty. There will also be live music and entertainment overlooking the Daintree Rainforest and Coral Sea.

The festival grounds are a hive of activity with produce stalls, popular restaurants, kids cooking activities, hands-on workshops, food and wine masterclasses and a chance to meet the makers at craft beer and wine stalls. There's also a culinary classroom and a 'grow zone', where gardening workshops offer the chance to get your hands dirty.

If you prefer something a little more relaxing, there will be live music all day and pop up food stalls where you can grab a cold drink and a tasty treat. Guest chefs will also be sharing their trade secrets in free-to-watch live demos on the main stage. Inside the 'Industry Talks' tent, the 'What's Cooking' discussions will offer lively and entertaining insights on all facets of the food and wine industry. There's something for everyone over the course of the two days, with a fantastic combination of free and ticketed events.
