This tour begins with a drive to the Mulinu'u Penninsula where the sacred burial grounds of the chiefly families of Samoa are located, then past Parliament House, The Independence Monument, Lands and Titles Court and the German Monument (where the German flag was raised) also the landing site of the first Catholic Missionary to Samoa. One to the Samoa Catholic Cathedral where you will see the fine artistry and skills of the Samoa craftsmen who built the church and crafted the beautiful carvings and artwork. The magnificent stained-glass windows were imported from Italy and help give the cathedral its grandeur. Following on with a visit to the markets where you can shop for local produce and handicrafts. The last stop is at Robert Louis Stevenson's former home 'Vailima' now a museum, set in magnificent gardens and housing artefacts from the period when he was residing in Samoa.
