Boasting a mild climate year round and a daily average of 7 hours of sunshine, Caloundra weather experiences the highest levels of sunshine of anywhere in the world.
Seasonal variations in Caloundra are much less extreme and far more subtle than those seen in North America, Europe and northern Asia. Caloundra weather is much more enjoyable and remains rather mild throughout the year. Of course summer is characterised by warm and sunny weather and from December to February, temperatures average between 17 and 28 degrees Celsius.
Although from March to May temperatures can drop, Caloundra weather in autumn is still very pleasant and temperatures generally remain comfortable, averaging between 13 and 25 degrees Celsius. Due to Caloundra’s position on the coast, it enjoys cooling sea breezes that help to temper the constant sunshine and warmer weather.
Of course winter is still winter but when it comes to Caloundra weather, temperatures don’t drop dramatically. Rather, from June to August the coolest temperatures are experienced overnight and can get as low as 7 degrees but as the sun comes up so too does the temperature, on most days rising to a comfortable 22 degrees Celsius. When spring hits, minimum temperatures are still on the lower end of the scale at 13 degrees Celsius but average daytime temperatures are perfect at around 25 degrees Celsius.
Regardless of when you visit, the wonderful Caloundra weather means you can continue to enjoy the local beaches year round. The summer water temperatures are an equally warm 26 degrees Celsius while in winter, water temperatures are still a refreshing 19 degrees. Keeping things green, the majority of rainfall occurs in the first few months of the year with a 300mm average however in winter rainfall drops to just 40mm.
