Stretching from Port Cartwright in the north all the way to Currumundi Lake in the south, Kawana Beach is one of the Sunshine Coast’s longest open beaches. Offering 10km of beautiful white sand, the beach is also home to the Kawana Waters Surf Club and is the ideal place to enjoy a cold drink and a bite to eat while directly supporting the community’s surf life savers.
Kawana Beach is beautiful but is also known for its rapidly and unexpectedly changing conditions due to its exposed nature. At times conditions can be rough with dangerous sweeps and rips however throughout summer, surf patrols operate on the beachfront at the Kawana Waters Surf Club and as long as swimmers obey the rules and swim between the flags, the beach can be safely enjoyed by everyone.
The life savers of the Kawana Waters Surf Club rely on the support of the community to continue to keep the beach safe for everyone and the gaming, bar and bistro of the supporters club helps to fund lifesaving and equipment. All profits from the drinks and meals of the club go directly to keeping the surf life savers. The club is proud to cater for people of all ages and is a family friendly venue that offers a genuine and inviting atmosphere.
Overlooking the spacious grass reserve, the beer garden is the perfect place to enjoy a cold drink or a bite to eat while keeping an eye on the kids as they play. With seats available both in the beautiful Sunny Coast sunshine as well as in the shade, you can kick back and watch the passing parade of beachgoers. Offering great food at affordable prices, the bistro is open daily for lunch and dinner as well as for breakfast everything Sunday from 8am to 10am.
