Take a step back in time to learn about World War II history, visiting memorials and museums that are a reminder of darker times. This 10-hour Historical Day Tour to River Kwai departs the city with your local tour guide, to Kanchanaburi Province, approximately 130 kilometers west of Bangkok.

Upon arrival, you'll tour the War Cemetery, where there are graves of an estimated 9,000 Allied soldiers. These soldiers perished during the construction of the `Death Railway.` which the Japanese had hoped would stretch all the way to the Burmese border. Learn more about the railway`s history at the interactive Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, with recreations, pictures and artifacts from the times of World War II. There is also an opportunity to ride on a stretch of the `Death Railway.` During the tour you'll also have lunch and see the infamous bridge on the River Kwai, before returning to Bangkok in the late afternoon.
