The company behind the Ghan and The Indian Pacific, Great Southern Rail, is introducing a new luxury train service transporting patrons between Adelaide and Brisbane.
Set to begin in December next year, the "Great Southern" will include a three-day northbound luxury journey from Adelaide to Brisbane, or a four-day southbound journey from Brisbane to Adelaide.
Along with world class service and spectacular views, the three-day northbound journey will include stops at the Grampians National Park in Victoria, beaches in Northern NSW, and historical sites in the nation's capital, Canberra.
On the southbound journey, travellers will get to experience gourmet beachside dining in northern NSW near Coffs Harbour, a wine tour of the beautiful Hunter Valley and Newcastle region, and a visit to the Twelve Apostles in Victoria.
Guests also have the option of extending their stays in Brisbane and Adelaide to explore more of the beautiful regions.
The Great Southern luxury train service can accommodate up to 214 guests per journey across its 28 carriages.
Passengers can expect an exceptional culinary experience while on board, with world class hospitality and exquisite food and wine all included in the price of your ticket.
Guests will have the accommodation options of Gold Single, Gold Twin cabins as well as the exclusive platinum cabins for an even more luxurious journey.
Prices for the Great Southern rail journey start at $1649 per person for Gold Single accommodation, $1829 per person for Gold Twin and $3899 per person for a Platinum cabin. These fares are all inclusive of onboard dining, beverages and Off Train Excursions.
Tickets can be purchased for the Great Southern Journey from Monday 3 December 2018.
The first season of the Great Southern will begin on 6 December 2019.
