Field of Lights

The Field of Light art installation by internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Munro, is the largest Field of Light installation to date, more than 50,000 stems crowned with frosted-glass spheres will bloom as darkness falls over Australia's spiritual heartland.

Guests at Ayers Rock Resort's properties can immerse themselves in Munro's monumental experiential artwork in one of three ways. The entry-level Field of Light Pass includes return bus transfers to the remote site with ample time to experience the artwork. The Field of Light Star Pass includes the above, along with sparkling wine and canapés with panoramic views of the installation from an elevated viewing area to finish. The 4.5-hour A Night at Field of Light includes sparkling wine and canapés at sunset from an elevated viewing area, time to immerse in the artwork and a three-course buffet dinner showcasing native ingredients as well as return bus transfers and introduction by a host.

Field of Light Pass
The Field of Light experience begins with a convenient hotel pick-up and transfer to the remote desert location then a self-guided walk through Field of Light taking in the monumental light installation.

Field of Light Star Pass
Coach transfers included from your accommodation. You will be welcomed at a raised viewing area to watch as the last sun rays hit Uluru as the sun slowly sets behind you. As darkness gradually falls and the coloured lights of the glass spheres come to life you will be invited to walk through and interact with Field of Light. Return to the raised viewing area 30 minutes prior to departure to view the illuminated installation in the darkness. Not suitable for children aged 0-4 years.

A Night at Field of Light
'A Night at Field of Light' experience begins with a convenient hotel pick-up and transfer to the remote desert location with majestic views of Uluru. With Uluru as the backdrop, guests enjoy the sounds of a didgeridoo as the sun slowly sets. As darkness gradually falls and the coloured lights of the 50,000 glass spheres come to life guests enjoy local Indigenous performance, welcoming them to this unique country, before being invited to join their fellow travellers at their dinner table for a special three-course bush tucker inspired buffet menu. A knowledgeable guide will provide insights and background to the monumental installation and guests are invited to immerse themselves and walk through Field of Light. After dinner guests are welcomed back at the dune viewing area to enjoy the illuminated installation in the darkness. Not suitable for children aged 0-9 years.

Additional Info

Children: Not all Field of Light tours are suitable for children - see age limits above. The Field of Light Pass is suitable for children, however please note the terrain is not suitable for prams or strollers.
Note: Long pants and enclosed shoes are strongly recommended for all guests as the experience involves walking up and down a sand dune and a walk through Field of Light on an unsealed track.
