According to the Vanuatu Tourism Office (VTO), Vanuatu has experienced a six per cent increase in Australian visitors compared to last year. This further growth in the tourism sector has encouraged businesses to expand and develop their offerings in the market. According to VTO general manager Linda Kalpoi, business owners have introduced a range of new accommodation and activity options to serve the increasing number of Australian tourists. "New hotels and resorts are regularly opening up and the range of activities now available in Vanuatu is expanding to cater for a wider range of visitors," Ms Kalpoi said.
In Espiritu Santo, Ratua Island Resort & Spa has added luxury safari tents as part of their accommodation options that offer a truly unique experience. The 32m² tents offer all the comfort of the resorts full services as well as private access to the pristine white beach and enjoy a wild holiday experience that allows guests to truly relax and get back to nature. Located on the island of Efate, Warwick Le Lagon has unveiled three new Pool Villas which offer next level luxury. These secluded accommodation options offer beautiful views of Erakor Lagoon and enjoy their own private plunge spa or swimming pool.
For those looking for a little more adventure, there's also a number of brand new tours and activities on offer including Safari Tours that journey through Vanuatu's culture and natural environment in the comfort of a 4WD accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide. Located in southeast Efate in Pango Village, Salt Water Players is also adding to its selection of water sports including kite surfing and stand up paddle boarding in addition to its popular surfing experiences. A new shopping centre is also set to open and will be the first major shopping mall to open in Port Vila. Known as Tana Russet, the shopping centre will feature three floors of shops, a games arcade and Vanuatu's first international standard cinema complete with 3D projection.
