Cocktails have been a part of travel for longer than you may think. In fact, as far back as WWII, returned servicemen have been bringing home rum-soaked recipes for navy grog and other tropical delights from their journeys to the Pacific. Although these days, we associate tropical cocktail menus with relaxing beach holidays.
Take your tastebuds on a trip around the world with tasty libations from California, Puerto Rico, New Orleans, Hawaii and Havana. Whether you’re lucky enough to be sipping them on a tropical island or are just trying to cool off in the backyard, we’ve got the top 5 cocktails of summer!
30ml Light Rum | 15ml Triple Sec |
30ml Dark Rum | 45ml Sweet & Sour Mix |
15ml Orgeat | 1 Cherry to garnish |
15ml Simple Syrup |
Measure all ingredients into a shaker filled with ice. Shake for 30 seconds then strain into a Collins glass over ice. Garnish with a cherry and serve!
90ml Light Rum | 3 tbsp Crushed Pineapple |
3 tbsp Coconut Milk | 2 cups Crushed Ice |
Measure all ingredients into blender and blend at high speed for approximately 1 minute. Pour into Collins glass and enjoy!
60ml Dark Rum | 30ml Orange Juice |
60ml White Rum | 1 tbsp Grenadine |
90ml Passionfruit Syrup | 1 Cherry |
60ml Pineapple Juice |
Fill a cocktail shaker ¾ full with ice. Measure in all ingredients and shake well. Strain into a Hurricane glass. Garnish with pineapple and a cherry.
30ml Light Rum | 1 cup of Ice |
60ml Pineapple Juice | 1 slice of Pineapple |
30ml Blue Curacao | 1 Cherry |
30ml Crème de Coconut |
Blend all ingredients in blender at high speed. Pour into a Highball glass. Garnish with slice of pineapple and cherry.
45ml Light Rum | 2 tsp Sugar |
90ml Lemon Juice | Club Soda |
3 Mint Sprigs | 1 slice of Lemon |
Crush mint with ice in tall glass. Add sugar and lemon juice and stir. Add rum, stir and top with club soda. Garnish with lemon slice and mint.
